This thread is for scripture only. We would like to show that the "LORD'S DAY" that many proclaim is SUNDAY is a false teaching and you will not find this in God's WORD.

Let's start by looking at your scriptures that many use to claim SUNDAY is the "LORD'S DAY"

REVELATIONS 1:9-11 [9] I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. [10], I was in the Spirit on the LORD'S DAY, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, [11], Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

No doubt about it Revelations 1:10 clearly says that John was in the SPIRIT on the "LORD'S DAY"!

NOW the only problem you have is the need to show scripture that says SUNDAY IS THE LORD'S DAY.

Can you please provide scripture that says SUNDAY or the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK is the "LORD'S DAY"?

If you cannot find any scriptures to say that SUNDAY is the "LORD'S DAY" then you have a problem.

This is the day God rested on, he set apart and made a Holy day at the completion of the creation week and made a memorial for all mankind (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus is the God of creation and he is the Lord of the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28)

Now friend's the SABBATH is the 4th Commandment of God's 10 Commandments and there is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says that God's 4th Commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep SUNDAY as a HOLY DAY. [7], You hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
[8], This people draws near to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
[9], But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Who do we believe and follow? The teachings and traditions of men or the WORD of God? Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God.

SIN is breaking any of God's 10 Commandments (Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4) Those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT ENTER the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.

In times of ignorance God winks at but when as knowledge of the truth has come God calls on all men everywhere to repent and believe his Word (Acts 17:30-31)

God's is calling his people to come out from following the traditions of men to worship him in Spirit and in truth.

God knows many follow these traditions from ignorance because they do not know any better. He loves all and is calling all who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Seek him in prayer asking for his Spirit to guide and teach you. He promises to be your guide and teacher. (John 14:26; 16:13: 7:17)

Sorry man but you’re wrong. I’ve already posted in your previous thread about why Sunday, the first day of the week is when Christians worship, so you can refer back to your old post to view those supporting scriptures.

Ignatius of Antioch identifies the Lord's Day as Sunday:

"During the Sabbath He continued under the earth in the tomb in which Joseph of Arimathæa had laid Him. At the dawning of the Lord’s day He arose from the dead..." Letter to the Trallians

Now you have a conundrum. The bible mentions "the Lord's Day" but does not specify what day that is. I offer Ignatius to clarify the Christian belief and you reject it as an "outside source" but then offer an outside source -your own opinion- as authoritative.

That leaves us to choose between your opinion and the teachings of Ignatius. Considering that you choose to use the Jewish bible over the Christian bible, and you are arguing the Jewish day of worship over the Christian day of worship, and that your opinions conflict with the teachings of the earliest Christians, and in this case a Christian martyr, which way should we go here?

Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of GOD. ACTS 15 does not say that the "LORD'S DAY" is Sunday or the first day of the week now does it? In fact ACTS 15 is talking about CIRCUMCISION as a requirement for salvation. It is not talking about God's 10 commandments are not a requirement for those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD *ACTS 15:1-2.

Hello brother SeventhFisherofMen, thanks for sharing your thoughts again. None of the scripture you have provided though say the Sunday or the first day of the week is the LORD'S DAY do they? In fact God's people met EVERYDAY of the week to break bread and worship God. This does not make those days according to God's WORD a holy day.

ACTS 2:46-47 [46], And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, [47], Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

I guess we all need to choose who we should follow. I choose not to follow a Church but the Word of God *JOHN 1:1-4; 14; MATTHEW 4:4. The Church is not our judge come judgment day it is the Word of God *JOHN 12:47-48. JESUS says all those who knowingly follow the teachings and traditions of men are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9. Who then should we BELIEVE and FOLLOW; God or man *ROMANS 3:4; ACTS 5:29?

If you were 100% convinced I am not right you would have provided scripture already to show that the "LORD'S DAY" is Sunday or the first day of the week. You have not been able to because there is no scripture. If there is no scripture then Sunday worship is a man made teaching and tradition that has lead many to break God's 4th commandment which is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken in the NEW COVENANT *ROMANS 3:20. According to God's WORD in the NEW COVENANT all those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50. I am only quoting NEW TESTAMENT/COVENANT scriptures here. It is JESUS that says in his own words all those who knowingly follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God not me *MATTHEW 15:3-9. Sounds a bit harsh and it sounds like you're angry about this. I really don't know what to say when I have given scripture, testimony and even dictionary evidence about Sunday The Lord's Day being one and the same. Do you really think that you are more intelligent than ALL the Christians of history that have worshiped on Sunday?

Angry? No brother not at all and not in the slightest. I love God's WORD, I love JESUS and I share God's WORD because I LOVE my brothers and sister here. These are God's WORD'S not my words. For me, he must increase and I must decrease. I only point all to the Word of God because it is there we find the one who loves us that we may love him. I know him and am known by him. All that he shows me I see and must show to all because I am blind. He tells me it is those that say they see that do not see. These are they that have once known him or do not know him. There is only life in the living Word. These are his Words and not my own. Freely I give because freely I have received. I must speak in the light and what I hear preach in the housetops. Many will not hear because they do not know Him. He is the Word of God and those that believe him are those that he has chosen. They follow him because they love him and are loved by him. Many are called but few are chosen. There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed come judgment day. Sadly at this time it will be too late for many that had the chance to hear God's WORD and turned away from it. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it.
