We should return to Biblical methods of travel. As the leading Christian Nation, I would like to see a return to Bible Based methods.
Obviously, every family should have 2 asses to ride, possibly at the same time.

I wonder who thought it was a good business decision to make optional, features that would help keep planes they produce from falling out of the sky.

Maybe they thought the operator would be willing to pay extra for the options on the replacement plane?

my car has all sorts of features --- speed control, lane keeping, following distance, etc. --- I can cancel that at the push of a button --- it seems the 738 pilots do not have that option --- that is freaking scarey

Don't worry Boeings lobbyists will fix things so they don't suffer too much for using the wrong engines when they remade the 737.
Not so much the wrong engines as failing to fully redesign the plane to take account of them. Instead using a software fix, and relying on a compliant FAA and lobbyists to ensure it was green lit.

Redesigning what was there would have been a waste of time and prohibitively expensive a totally new aircraft design would have been cheaper, hence my comment about using the wrong engines on that existing airframe.

Worked like a charm, didn't it?
