Until about a month ago, I wasn't aware of the existence of these bands. It appears they are seducing followers through their glamour rock music fused with watered down gospel lyrics. The hope is that their followers will inevitably join and learn the false doctrines of Bethel church.

I learned of the bands existence while researching the usual suspects (Bill Johnson, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, Sin Roth, etc). This is where I learned about the operation of Bethel church, Hillsong, and jesus culture.

I tuned into my local Christian radio station recently and recognized some of the songs. Shocker! I did not know the church I was attending had been singing their songs in church.
The worship team is young, but do they really need to adopt these apostate bands into the church?

I would not have as much of a problem if it was only the music but someone at the church allowed an announcement recently, asking if people want to join a group on the works of Bill Johnson! I don't want to speak against the church or the pastor but I don't think this should be allowed. The church needs people with discernment to keep false teachings out of the church, and stand against apostates. I don't know if the church is out of touch or if they are trying to please everyone.

So are you saying your church will not take your concerns seriously? Having an issue and bringing it to the pastors is perfectly normal. State your case, back it up with some solid scripture that applies to the situation and ask questions. You might be surprised in what you learn and what you can teach them. If at the end you state your concerns and you are not allowed to share them, you may want to consider a different church, if not and you are welcome to share your concerns with others, keep attending. No one says you have to sing songs you dont agree with nor go to teachings that you agree with either. You're free! :)

Most churches have this problem including the one I go to. Just filter it out or leave that church and find another one.

Sadly, most Christians don't know enough of the Bible to make the right discernment and this includes Pastors (or they may know, just don't want to offend its members)

I'm a brand new member I don't feel comfortable raising a stink on church policy just yet. I found another church already, and only attend this church in question once a week, but may attend less often if this keeps up.

As stated, I'm not as bothered about the music, but I would like to hear the viewpoints of others on the matter. It seems that it's more common as many churches are allowing heresy to creep in. Another church in my community which I did not attend offers the practice of "Sozo" which is another teaching of Bethel church.

It's possible they may have misinterpreted one of Apostle Paul's teachings, something about "dedicating every deed to the Lord and it will be good".

I suppose, that teaching doesn't literally mean everything. Imagine dedicating satanic rituals to the Lord and that would make it good, would be so absurd at the highest levels. That's insulting the Lord.

The laziness of many Christians (have more time for golf or beach or gym, worldly leisures than studying the Lord's teaching in the Bible). Knowing so little to be so easily deceived would be their undoing.

"Sozo" at Bethel church is Bill's "improvement" on deliverance of demons. How lovely, you make an appointment to get delivered and you go home worse off than when you left. They follow a different Jesus and teach a different gospel at Bethel church of apostasy and magic.

So they believe that believers can be possessed by demons?

I'm not sure if they believe in full possession. That's not my issue with them. They are following another gospel. And another spirit.

Personally, I think we as Christians can be influenced by demons. Not full possession, but influenced. When false prophets deliver they simply shift the demon to another area of influence the person believes they are healed. Only Jesus can heal and cast demons.

Ok, just asking, really dont know anything about them. Interesting, dont really follow any megachurch stuff although I am aware of a lot of these prosperity gospel preachers.

Watered-down isn't necessarily the same thing as apostate.

Some of the music by these bands is ok, doctrinal speaking. But they are like hooks which are meant to reel people in to the Bethel church as they are worldwide now.

Hillsong is a worldwide organization. They have litle factions in other countries. Hillsong London is a bit more satanic in their live concerts.

Have a look, just scroll through to the middle of the video and tell me this is not satanic...

I guess it depends if your going to church to be entertained ;) personally, I go to the movies. I typically go to church for teaching (some, not all) and for the fellowship.

I'm mostly in it for the Sacrament.

Watered-down is a weak spot. Apostate or not, it provides an entry point for false teachings due to weak discernment.

I agree. When members of the church ask about the songs they're singing, while in church, especially young people, they find Bethel churc

It's about the whole church, not just what you or I get from it. When false doctrines enter the church, it affects everyone.

I guess you can call it out, but are they listening or are you just going to shake the dirt from your sandals?

the thing is, once magic is involved, sometimes "demons" are thoughtforms and not actually demons at all. So anything discerned in such an environment is murky at best.
