She has more experience, than the president. That one quality I like about her.
A friend of mine phoned an hour ago and he said the same thing as you.

I don't think that he should lock himself in at this point.

I don't necessarily see what he gains from it ...

Idk about in the rest of the country but she's extremely popular in GA. Lots of folks & that includes fair-minded Republicans, were dismayed about the last election on account of the corruption behind it. Many believe she didn't get a fair shake. I think picking her now could be on account of that momentum she's already got going for her. That said sure I think it is a bit early, but considering it context to her current popularity it makes a little more sense.

Oh shoot yeah. She's got a law degree from Yale, has got an actual understanding of the law. Unlike Donald who seems to not have the 1st clue or care lots of the time. She definitely has more experience despite being close to 30 years younger than Donald.

I think most of the other candidates are much more experienced & educated than him. On the Republican side there's Bill Weld who is exploring challenging Donald for the Republican nomination. Infinitely more experienced than Donald.

I don't think there will be a Republican primary. There is too much fear of Donald in the party.

The history of announcing ones preferred running mate in advance of the nomination almost always 1) fails to help the person who is seeking the presidential nomination and 2) looks like an act of desperation.

This one could be different, of course, but choosing a person like this one who has just lost a statewide race she was favored to win and who had never held any important elective office previously seems shaky.

I'm praying there will be. But sadly you may be correct.
A Weld challenge to Trump would provide Republicans a clear choice

It's just pathetic as all get out to fear Donald. The main thing he does is nasty tweets, act like he's the 5th grader going after the smaller kids on the schoolyard. At least some Republicans have stood up & condemned the despicable comments of Donald's about Sen. McCain. In 10 years time there's a good chance Donald will be dead seeing as how poorly he takes care of himself, but the damage to the Republican party he's caused is going to take a whole lot longer to repair. The sooner that Republicans start with the damage control, the better it's going to be for the future.

I'm not sure the Republican Party, the Christian right in particular, will ever be able to restore their reputation and claim of being the political party of Christian morality and values after Trump.

Too much can happen in the next year. Why it is good, to hold off until you have a clearer picture, of who is the best choice.

But there's only 592 days left to campaign! That's only like 30 politician days.

Sometimes the comparison is done by comparison. If the democrat party continues leaning further and further left, then the republicans would still be a better choice for the Christian vote by comparison. Really, it's not about the candidate himself, but rather the policies they promote.

It's awful early to be announcing a running mate, although she is a pretty solid choice given the state of the Democrat party. We don't even know what the platform will look like, but it's safe to say it will be a hard left progressive agenda. Bernie is still out there and going to push an even harder left, socialist agenda which makes me cringe, but he did inherit the grass roots support Obama enjoyed. I just hope they don't ignore the moderates in this one because it crippled Clinton in her bid. Then the hard part will be deciding if they want to speak to the Trump base on their issues, or simply confront them. I personally think a bipartisan approach to immigration is possible and even necessary.

I agree. A bipartisan approach to immigration is needed and it is possible, but probably not until 2021.

Picking a VP running mate now, would be the equivalent of an nfl coach, putting their game plan in stone, for game 16, before the season starts.
Yes. That's why I see this leak, or whatever it was, as a trial balloon or else as something let to the media in order to curry favor with some groups within the party who may at present be undecided about which candidate to support. It means nothing so far as whom Biden finally chooses for his VP goes.
