Other Kiwis.....just an aside....how do you feel about Queen Jacinda ...

I didn't know she was the Queen... or that NZ even HAD a queen.

Oh wait... you were just being snarky, you weren't really interested in how anyone else felt were you?

Nevermind.

I can just envision the Oprah episode now...

"Everybody look under your seat!
You get a Nuke!, and You get a Nuke!, and You get a Nuke!, and You get a Nuke!, and You get a Nuke!, and You get a Nuke!, EVERYBODY gets a NUKE!"
Ha Ha.... And here I thought someone would take it to absolutely unrealistic levels.

Please detail the parallel between nukes and a semi auto 30.06.

Exactly. If I feel the need to have an Abrams Tank with anti Aircraft capability to protect my family from an overreaching government, why shouldn't I?

If I feel the need to Have a suitcase Nuke to carry with me as a deterrent against being swarmed by an angry mob in south central LA, why should there be any government restriction against it?

Does not The 2nd amendment ensure me that right?

I tell ya what... if every law-abiding citizen had a suitcase nuke with them at all times, Violent crime would disappear in a vapor.
Please list the number of applications for the use of a suitcase nuke... or a tank... or anti aircraft gun..

Can you....

1/ target practice?
2/ hunt?
3/ keep for a collection?
4/ compete in competitions?

No... thought so...

These are single purpose items... Please search and come up with realistic comparisons.

It's simply the logical extension of the same parallel between Brass Knuckles and a Semi auto 30.06, is it not?

Besides, the Constitution is very broad on this..

But Maybe you can tell me what class of Arms the constitution excludes from this: "the citizens right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

I don't see any "arms class" restrictions there at all, nor do I see any restrictions against "single purpose arms" as you seem to imply...

1/ target practice?
Yes, of course. Why couldn't you?

2/ hunt?
Depends on what you are Hunting and why... certainly would be great for Herd Overpopulation control in the outback, or the middle of Wyoming, but probably overkill for controlling Moles in your suburban front yard...Just like brass knuckles aren't enough for Mole Control, but a shotgun works great... you need the right tool for the job.

3/ keep for a collection?
Absolutely.

4/ compete in competitions?
Nations do it now, do they not?
It wouldn't be called a Nuclear arms RACE if it WASN'T a competition.

Absolutely not...

Even brass knuckles have a single purpose... damage to another individual....There is no peaceful use.

There are non harming, peaceful, humane, entertaining, useful, enjoyable uses to all firearms available to civilians.

Seriously.... ? Nice try.

These items are not what you would consider for the activities that I suggested. But... if you will bend and skew simple concepts like I presented, then, you will stretch and spin other things as well... only to find out, in the end, what we all told you in the first place.

So, because of that, you favor restricting and/or regulating citizens right to keep and bear them?

I am certainly not an expert on the US constitution, especially the "right to bear arms".

I would be quite willing to believe that they do not include brass knuckles, anti aircraft guns, nukes and operational tanks.

I would be curious if it even allowed "automatic" weapons.

In Canada we have various categories that firearms are subject to and different legislation for each. Including different licensing and qualification criteria.

What are you talking about?

Have brass knuckles ever been legal?

And, yes, something that has a single use as being harmful to others..... got to be some restriction.

What exactly do you think people keep firearms for?....... that you would expect to be able to make a parallel to brass knuckles, tanks, nukes and anti aircraft guns?

I cannot think of a single occasion where any civilian would need any of these.

Any objections to me owning ballistic missiles? Anti-air guns? Nuclear weapons?

If so, why?
Wouldn't you want to use more practical ways of getting rid of the wasp nest in your back yard?

I've lived almost 53 years as a civilian and I have yet to NEED a weapon of any kind. (Besides my devastating Good Looks, and razor sharp wit of course)
I'm guessing it's highly likely I won't need one anytime in the next 53 either.

I would, but to protect your family from the overreach of a tyrannical government that happens to be a nuclear superpower, aren't you gonna need something bigger than a fly swatter?

What if you have Giant Scoliidae, or tarantula hawks?
The weapons might be useful for those on the West Coast of our South Island where they have two-engined biting sand flies.

Oh yea, Aussies and Kiwis have prehistoric creatures.

They need nooks. And orbital crafts to nook the creatures from Space.

Yep. We have man-eating sheep here too. You take your life in your hands when you are faced with 2000 sheep looking at you and thinking, "Lunch!"
