It seems CBN is continuing to repeat the unsubstantiated claim that Fulani herdsmen have killed 60,000+ people since 2001. Here is a quote from the article:

"According to the Global Terrorism Index, Fulani herdsmen have killed more than 60,000 people since 2001."

The Global terrorism Index has never reported such a number, nor has any other legitimate source.

No, there is no evidence that 60,000 Christians been killed in a 'genocide' by "Fulani Herdsmen" in Nigeria

According to the International Crisis Group, political and religious claims of a jihad by ethnic Fulanis are conspiracies which have grown in response to the conflict, which is fundamentally about land-use between mainly nomadic cattle herders and sedentary farmers.

There are no reliable estimates for the total number of deaths since 2001 and no known estimates which divide the deaths along religious lines. The herders are mainly Muslim while the farmers are largely Christian.

The International Crisis Group reported around 12,000 deaths from 2011-2016. It said that in the first 6 months of 2018, 1,300 people were killed in clashes between herders and farmers.

In northern Nigeria, clashes have also occurred in states like Gombe, where the majority of farmers are Muslim, suggesting that the underlying causes for the conflict are not religious.

A number of US-based Christian groups and organisations have repeated similar claims, including Open Doors USA, the US branch of an international organisation that supports “persecuted Christians in the most high-risk places”.

Others include the Gatestone Institute, a right-wing think tank.

Articles and petitions repeating these claims have been shared hundreds of thousands of times on Facebook.

The best I can tell there seems to be an equal amount of atrocities coming from both Christians and Muslims in the region. There are no innocent parties in this conflict.

We must remember that radical Christians during the Crusades, murdered plenty of Muslims in Palestine when they invaded that area. Radical Jews in the first century used to gather around innocent Roman citizens in crowds and secretly stab them to death.

If this post is a response to the ones concerning the killing of Muslims in Christchurch NZ, then it doesn't wash, because it is not a reason to support the murdering of innocent people of any religious persuasion.

Oscarr, the Crusades were the European Christians response to mahometan jihadistaismists in the Middle East.

Is this going to be the new thing? Anytime there is a shooting in a mosque in a Western country that we will suddenly care about ANYONE dying in Africa?

We should care about the Christians dying ALL the time, and not only express sadness for whichever tragedy the media picks to focus on for their own manipulative purposes.

That is my point Varangian. We should care about those dying Christians all the time. But that doesn't preclude from caring for dying muslims.

Well no CLUE how this was almost changed into something that was NOT EVEN TALKED about.. but GOD does not will not sit by as HIS Children are killed. He never has! Sorry.. there are THINGS a GOD has said.. and HE made the rules. Not man. He is JUST! You believe in Christ your HIS Child. If you don't..your not of GOD. There are those that are blind that never heard... don't know. I do not believe they are all lost.

That being said.. you know when this awful thing happen to those two mosques. Blood of Jesus.. I was reading posts about. WHAT ABOUT Christians.. at 1st I thought.. a its not about Chrisitans.. a truth but I looked more in to this.. HOLY JESUS in 2018 alone.. ALL the things happening to CHRISTIANS...and NOONE I mean NO ONE is saying a word.

They will go on and on day and night about MUSLMIS! (TV NEWS) don't get me wrong here. But they TV NEWS say NOTHING what so ever when Christians die. To make this CLEAR For GOD so loved the WORLD that WHO SO EVER believes in HIM shall never die. Christ came loves ALL the same!

And...lets not go back in TIME. I mean we can PICK a people BEFORE a time that killed MORE Christians and back and forth. Its not about the PAST but right NOW. What we do NOW!

Thanks for posting this

This is the reason I subscribe to the Barnabus fund so that I can know about the persecution Christians face around the world, it is heartbreaking that most don't know about the extent of it.
As for the news, most I really think it is filtered and we seldom get what really matters. IF and that's a big IF anything regarding Christians being killed, is reported, it is as a quick snippet and that's it.

I think of the martyrs in Revelation 6:9-10 asking God "how long?" It won't be forever and we need to be praying for our precious brothers and sisters that they may be a witness for Christ for the very ones who are persecuting them.

The outrage in the post about NZ is five times more outrage than on this post. Do muslims mean that much more than believers getting killed?

Prays for the believers in Nigeria

I totally agree, (I'm in Australia) and you would not believe the news stories and how some are reacting, many mosques in Australia had open days yesterday with hundreds of visitors being shown around and mourning and flowers left, non Muslims hugging Muslims and in tears and children leaving pictures outside mosques.
I don't get it. It was an evil act but how come this doesn't happen to the Christians?
I have noticed people carrying on like this for a number of things lately and it is way out of proportion. And never been like this before.

We have had our Prime minister saying "It happens to one faith, it happens to all of us" ummm no, not to me because the Christian faith is the only true one.

I don't discount any murder as being anything other than wicked, it is all a tragedy but don't group the Christian faith in with the others.

I'm sorry if I sound awful but I couldn't help thinking to myself when I saw the crowds being greeted in the mosques and women trying on different colour headwear before their tour : that this was a great opportunity for Islamic public relations.

Christians are the group that it is okay to hate, actually I think from the way people act it is mandatory to hate us.

And Christians killed 130 Muslims there in February, including 22 children. Christians have killed hundreds of Muslims in Nigeria. They are at war and both sides are killing innocents.
When "Christians" are killing each other in the name of Christ, then we have to look at what Jesus said in John 18:36 in response to soldiers coming to arrest Him:

John 18:36
"My Kingdom is not of this world. If it were, then would my followers fight."

Even though Peter cut off an ear of one of the servants of the soldiers, Jesus rebuked him.

As a Protestant non-denominational believer, I find it's so sad that the JW's often school us on this when they go out spreading their literature.

For anyone who are interested, if you go to the organisation Open doors.org you will find much information including a list of the 50 countries with the most persecution. It is mind boggling.
Wherever the gospel is preached is persecution. Just as Jesus told us, so we should not be surprised but still seeing it and the numbers wow.

Remember, Muslims are never to be seen as anything but innocent victims, and if a news story appears showing otherwise - "Look! Squirrel! I mean Crusades!"

Ah look, horse hockey. Do you know who are the most common victims of Radical Islamists? Muslims! Then there are the Muslim victims of the radical Hindus, the radical Buddhists not to mention the hatred spouted by many Christian Dominionists, oh and the hard-Right Jewish sects as well. Perhaps you might do some home-work before spouting such trenchant nonsense.

So the day after the high profile attacks on Muslims you thought it was relevant to dig up and highlight a weeks-old story featuring Muslims doing the attacking...
You thought it was appropriate and germane to change the topic from Muslim victims to Muslim victimizers...

Yes, because it happened.

One problem with your post is that you say this is current news and you even include the time 4am as if it's breaking news but in fact it happened Feb 26...
That's over 2 1/2 weeks before you posted on Mar 16...

Was there already a post in this forum regarding this tragedy?

That's how the parochial minds of bigots work, that's the non sequitur that only makes sense to an Islamophobe

Are you calling me a bigot and/or an Islamophobe?

You also indicate that the farmers were shot as they ran from their burning church but your link does NOT report this.
You want to ignore/counter/silence any talk of Muslims being attacked in their houses of worship so you simply invented this imaginary mirror image scene with Christian victims!

It's simply the title of the article. The link does report it. Click on the Guardian source.
