Wouldn't the devil want to prove God wrong in some manner? Does he even have freewill? Lets say there is a multiverse theory that states that he can decide how things in the future may occur. When Revelations says there would be 10 kings he would place an 11th or not have the Antichrist show up at all for that matter. Im thinking he may not be as smart as some claim him to be. If he indeed believes all that is written of regarding his fate and that of the world why even bother lifting a finger in the first place?

This was best answered on another thread:

Yeah, he is lacking in creativity, but then that is a God given ability he doesn't have

I always wondered how he could rebel against God in the first place, its logically impossible.

I think the only solution to the problem is, that the devil is not acting rationally, but emotionally.

The devil isn't the one in charge. If God says 10 kings, there's 10 kings. No more, no less.

He might not be a person or individual. It might just be a descriptor of man's desire to rebel against God.

I think that he does technically have free will, but that sin being the destroyer it is, his choices at this point are very limited, and it turns out that what God has foretold of him is actually the best he can do for himself at this point. Despite all his best efforts, the walls are closing in and he knows it, and so he rages at his fecklessness.

OK, but would not that mean that the general church got very wrong about it?

I'd say it's a useful idea, rather than being worried about "forces". But the alternative "forces" concept is covered as well.

Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

"Wouldn't the devil want to prove God wrong in some manner? "

He tries to do this all the time by deceiving humans on all levels. For every truth of God, satan has a deceitful twisted lie of some sort.

Does he even have freewill?
satan is a created being ... he had freewill in heaven ... God does at times limit his power on earth. (Job 1:12)
God uses satan, and when he allows him to afflict a believer it’s for God’s glorious purposes – to make that believer rely on Christ, become like Christ and display the power of Christ in him.

Lets say there is a multiverse theory that states that he can decide how things in the future may occur. When Revelations says there would be 10 kings he would place an 11th or not have the Antichrist show up at all for that matter.

The bible as written is truth. satan will fake the 2nd coming of Jesus and many many many will be mis-led believing satan is christ.

Im thinking he may not be as smart as some claim him to be.

Smart? he is Very very cunning.
Satan’s very nature is to lie and distort the truth of God

If he indeed believes all that is written of regarding his fate and that of the world why even bother lifting a finger in the first place?

He wins battles, but has lost the war.
He does have certain victories—although within the boundaries God has set for him—and perhaps these victories allow him to continue the illusion that he can have victory over God Himself. Self-centered and delusional, revengeful.

We are caught in the middle of a war between good and evil, but we know satan and death is in fact defeated! Thank you Jesus!

...it could just be that the Devil is the supreme psychopath. So, with this in mind, let's say, God told Satan something along the lines, "Well, if you're just wanting to spread destruction in all that I've placed in my Creation upon the earth, then I'll just give the people down there a head's up about what you're planning to do along with a few surprise provisions on the way."

And the Devil, responds, "You go right ahead, you Big Punk in the Sky!"

And then God does what God does in perfect preparation, and the Devil does what he does in imperfect pride. And that's that. But, like the rest of you, I'm just guessing about this from the few clues we have about the Devil we all have in Scripture.

How does one cast attention away from oneself?
It would probably be just a symbolic expression of "putting your evil side away"... but I also think that the devil is a real spiritual being.

perhaps his plan is less about triumphing over God, which he knows is impossible, but removing as many as possible away from God as he can.

That's his job. God's vetting process where the candidate can fail or adapt and learn.
