What knowledge did you think I was referring to? Christ is the Truth.....and the Truth sets free.

"3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

"Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full"

Who are we to tell others what they should take joy in, and what they should ask their Father?

If you have children, would you like for others to tell them what not to ask you for?
In his name.... Is to be in him and him in you
Which means you will only be asking his will and his will wont exclude the gospel .
If those words are true (and they are) why do so many ask and not recieve.?
Because they dont ask IN his name ..they ask using his name .they ask amiss that they may consume it on their own lusts

Everyone want to focus on the bad things that happen to us, "by God" in some cases... But, what about all the bad things that could have happened, but didn't...? He (God) gets no credit for that...? The times He protected you from things that you have no idea or clue of, just because they didn't happen... We focus only on the bad things that happen, and never on the good things that do happen, and hardly ever on the bad things that "didn't happen" (by God's will), either...

God Bless!

There are also the bad things that happen that prevent worse things from happening.

Any situation where you know it could have been worse or much worse, but it wasn't, was God protecting you from it, I believe... or was the one preventing it from being worse, or much worse... and the way you can look back at it and "clearly see that" afterward, if you can see that, and see God's providence in it, I think it gives you a whole new appreciation for God, I think...

God ways are way far above our ways...

God Bless!

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does the tree fall apart from the will of God?

If a tree falls on your house and destroys it, does the tree fall apart from the will of God?

Is it God's will that your house is destroyed?

"All things are best ascribed to God" - saying of the ancient Essenes
God hears all trees that fall, and He hears all the hearts that fall from a broken house. Many things have fallen in a fallen world. Man created the house and God created the tree, and everything belongs to God.

1 Peter 4:19

You always get what you ask for.......If one seem to not get it, or get the opposite.....it is because one doesn't understand how to ask.

Exclusions and disclaimers only serves to keep one from Trying and seeking till they find, and to be content in failure.....thinking that there is some holy reason for their failure.

God is not like man....who judges by appearance and link spiritual relationship to personal requests and objects one possess. He said to ask for whatsoever you desire and he will give it.

Man says dont ask for this and that and condemn those caught in adultery.....God tell them to point out the accuser to Him........and as for Himself.....neither do I condemn thee.....

There are also Things, called bad, that happen to give us that which we desire and asked for.... Like, for instance, asking God for a better job....while being afraid to leave the one you have......you get Fire, and then end up on that better job....

Everything happens by the predetermined, purpose, and will of God. Everything is in his sovereign control, even the molecules that float around can do nothing apart from God.
Indeed, the very protons, and the very electromagnetic and nuclear forces also. All. Nature is His, and the forces He designed into Nature are His. Physics: His. Chemistry: His. They work, because He made them. So, when someone tells you truthfully that the moon orbits the Earth by the force of gravity, or truthfully tells you about chemistry, or any science, then they are telling you about God's own design He made, working, as He made it to work, by implication (if you believe He created all that is, as I do).

When they tell you whatever science stuff -- whenever they get it accurate, they are telling you about His design (whether they know it or not).

But does He need to constantly correct or manage Nature, His own design? I don't think so, but I never would worry about that. I know He made physics, and it consistently works in many definite clear and predictable ways we have discovered. Praise the Lord.

So, the question isn't whether it's all God's. It is.
Or whether He is in control. He is.

But instead about what is up to us, things scripture addresses so often, in so many ways.

Still, some will always ask about mysteries, and I hope post #21 helps some.

We as humans have learnt collectively what nature has taught, remove the tree before it falls on the house, knowledge of good and evil and our responsibility toward it. The Spirit of God is still working within that realm to give grace to forward the human race. Sophia wisdom. Yet there is still, besides that, the miracle of another life force that can and does work outside of the natural laws, something where God can and does intervene. Usually people are satisfied to live within, according to the laws of, the elementary force. Others have honed their lives to live within the miraculous. That too is a choice.

Yes, yes, yes. But I care to say that God is about reality, not “what if’s.” God is in control of everything, ....everything! That’s a beautiful notion if we can rest in Jesus and experience God’s glory for the remainder of earthly time.

yes, remind my neighbors before any more of their trees fall our way!
It must depend on your states or insurance laws as here in Phoenix State farm will pay for damage my trees do to anothers property. I do know that if tree limbs hang over into your property from someones yard you can cut them. Any growth that is growing into your yard can be eliminated as long as you don't hurt whats on their side. I have been extremely blessed by God in that respect, I have had three huge trees at least 60 years old that have fallen clear of anything other than a neighbors fence and we were able to mend that. But I could always use prayers for those gigantic trees that are growing now from seeds irrigation brought in from a neighbors tree. I wonder can I get them to pay the damage they make to the neighbors if they fall? My neighbor was yelling about my tree leaves that fall on his property but loves the shade they bring in the Summer to his house and car. I reminded him of all the china berries I get from his trees and now the trees I didn't want from his berries and he went out the next day and cut his tree down. That didn't help the china berry trees I now have.

Hello, welcome to CF! I was thinking as I enjoyed your post that when the homeowner notices the tree is a danger, and cuts it down, they have change the day it will fall (while I'd like to talk about whether that day was definite even in just physics before our free will actions because of quantum uncertainty, that's beside this point). God gives us the freedom to do that, to alter what would have happened without us. As I see it freedom, and all the good and bad it creates then, was necessary because love as we know of it (such as in 1 Cor 13) doesn't exist it seems except under a condition of freedom to choose. As I think of it, we are best like toddlers (and consider...100 years is such a tiny amount compared to His ages) , and the good thing is to take His hand, and let Him lead the way.
Absolutely. There is no love without freedom. That's what the atheist can't get. They always harp on what kind of God that knew all the evil that would happen in the world allow it. Without that freedom given to mankind, love cannot flourish.
