• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Dread. I dread going to church cause my 20 yr old daughter (who does not live with us) got arrested for paraphernalia and possession by a cop that goes to our church. I would really like to be somewhere else right now. I'd stay home, but...I committed to play piano. Ugh. I can see all the smirks and sneers now.

Hi all, I'm around yesterday we went to the movies treated by a friend of ours, the movie was nice, had a treat, I had to eat before we left was feeling sick from my med's and shaky so then we left once we got out and back to see if a part for my car got here, been having car issues lately it seems one thing gets some what under control another issue pops up.. I keep praying for patience and guidance for things and that I gain understanding why things keep dropping and picking up at times its depressing but yet maybe a learning tool I don't know. I really don't want to give up on my car just yet. We're working on the other car and that'll be my long distance car to drive to my Dr.'s and so forth with out worrying if I'll get there and home with out breaking down or loosing power to drive. Did stuff last night and had a good dinner now today battling a headache took some med's for it, they are helping so far, found out had to order some med's so... So far a laid back nice Sunday, waiting on the call for some fuses for my car n see if it'll start, I pray it does honestly

All I ask is prayer for me to learn some thing from all this and for me to not keep wanting to be too depressed if I have to some day give up the car it was a gift. My counseling got cancelled this past month so I'm really trying to rely on God's word and prayer till I get in this month in a couple weeks. So that's all I ask from my fellow brothers and sisters and I give a big thank you for those who do pray... Big hugs

i hope you get you car thing sorted out and that you will remain stable. Glad you enjoyed the movie and a treat, it is good to do something that makes us feel good, if only for a few minutes.

i found that meditating on the Psalms for example can be very calming and relaxing. What is also good about the psalms is that often times the authors were in distress when they wrote the psalm and can give us a lot of support by the way they see The Lord in their lives. Of course other bible pieces are also really good like Isaiah 55 and 61

Praying that our Lord keep you and bring you peace.

Not feeling well. Very anxious been struggling with it since late yesterday afternoon. i was up at 5am this morning already because i couldn't stay in bed feeling so anxious. P.T.S.D can be hard to handle when i get those fight or flight symptoms.

Please pray for me when you have some time. That i may stay in His loving truth and not move in with those loveless lies.

Thanking Jesus for keeping me safe.

I keep thinking I'm a terrible person. I deal with a lot of guilt. Keep thinking I'm going to hell. I hear voices all day long. Lately I've been hearing three voices. They all say different things. I pray that God will show me his love. Amen.

Sorry to hear that you are struggling down deep. Please see God's love over you even now. He send His son to die for your sins so you don't have to be consumed by guilt. Keep your eyes on Jesus and what He did to set you free from being a terrible person, with Jesus we can be good people instead.

Jesus loves you 100 percent always remember that.

i used to think i was going to hell and realised in the end believing that makes it come true, for i deny the sacrifice of Christ looking at my own sins and not at Christ atonement. Now i know Jesus loves me and i don't have to believe my depression any longer but can believe the bible and all its promises to me.

Be of good courage and drink in His love over you.

Well, I'm escalating things.

Someone taped some paper on my door with a couple of slurs. I have an idea of who, but this has gone beyond, "My RA is being useless" to "My RA is actively ignoring the problems going on".

Administration will be alerted Monday.

i hope this kind of treatment will be stopped by the administration. i'm sorry to hear you have to go through this but i know how cruel people can be. Please don't let it get to you, its best to stand above such treatments.

i hope you can get it sorted out.

Thanks, Jeshu.

I have to return for next semester because I don't want to move states again, and this stupid university is the one that offers Journalism and PoliSci and is pretty good with them (someone I admire graduated from here with a Journalism major).

Well, there's a temptation for arson while all of these things are sleeping soundly in their beds.

Haven't had that urge in a long time.

I know I'm getting bad if I'm no longer seeing these things as fellow human beings. I should ask my friend for some THC or something, that sounds better than anything at the moment.

The hospital sounds better than this right now.

You have been on my mind the past few days. I am so sorry you are receiving mistreatment. I know it's human nature to want to strike back when you are being hurt.

One step at a time. You are the best judge as to if you need intervention, and by all means do so if you feel you are losing control. But I do hope that things will begin to resolve themselves and get better so your studies are not interrupted.

Your are a fighter. You have gotten past other garbage in your life (but not without some battle scars). I have faith and confidence that you will come out of the other side of this as well. And as always, we are here for you to unload on if you need to vent.

You're not any worse than anyone else. Our guilt should be just about us understanding our sinful nature and how deep it goes, it shouldn't be about hopelessness or condemnation. We're not supposed to beat ourselves down with it, it's just supposed to lead us to Christ, to appreciate and trust Him more, to focus on God's goodness instead of our sin. If God is only good when we are good, Christ would have never come. But if God is love, Christ came for the sinners, which we undoubtedly are. So we pick ourselves up, thank Christ, and ask for His guidance so we could walk in the spirit more and more. Again and again. He can do it, we never could.

No voices can take you away from Jesus. Nothing can. Christ has already won, and we can trust Him with that, with whatever faith we have.

Our guilt, instead of letting it beat us to a spiritual pulp, can also help us treat others better too so that we wouldn't demand other people to be perfect for us when we know our own nature. So it's better to take all guilt as learning and take it to Christ, and all excessive guilt that just doesn't do anything good but torments us, we can tell it to take a hike, we can stand against it and we don't have to obey those feelings. We don't need it. It's not useful, it doesn't deserve the recognition we so easily give to it.

I feel like screaming. It seems that people have more compassion for people who only whine and not do anything about their problems, while people like me who ACTUALLY act on their advice get disrespected and told platitudes. Maybe I should stop venting permanently...

Thank you for the reply. I want to move forward. I get down a lot because someone has been playing tricks on me. I've been given lots of miraculous signs that say I'm going to hell. One voice in my head says "maybe it was the devil." I keep thinking it was God who gave me signs that I'm going to hell. For some reason I have a hard time believing that the devil can produce miraculous signs. Can the devil do signs and miracles? I worry a lot because of these signs that I saw. One voice in my head keeps telling me that the devil did those signs to fool me.

So, can the devil do signs and miracles? If it's true then I would feel better because I definitely got signs that I'm going to hell from someone. I found mysterious writings around the house talking about my sins and telling me I'm going to die and go to hell. I also found an image of the devil on a table in my house. Maybe it's the devil playing tricks on me?

I worry a lot because of these supernatural things that have happened to me. These supernatural things got me to believe God hates me.
