What's stupid about it? The judge didn't rule that the manufacturers were liable, just that the suit could move forward.
Which is stupid.

I'm in favor of implementing mental health screening and universal background checks...but this is one of those things that's just stupid.

We wouldn't sue Chevy if someone driving a corvette was drunk and hit us.

I consider myself to be a "gun moderate"...this is an example of a true anti-gun mentality

Stupid laws. Stupid country I guess. Unless you're suggesting the judge was not following the letter of the law.
The lawsuit itself is stupid.

If they are successful, then I have a good chance of winning a case against Ford. The manufacturers of the implement that killed my family member.
That’s different. That’s not an evil gun.

Because there’s no way that a manufacturer of a product should be held liable for the misuse of their product.

That is exactly the elephant in the room.

Set this precedent and every automobile manufacturer will spend billions defending themselves in court.

Not just that. Any time someone uses a product to harm someone else, the manufacturer would be liable.

The lawsuit itself is stupid.
Why is it stupid?

It isn't stating Remington is directly culpable for the murders; just that they may have broken marketing rules laid out in state law.

Should gun manufacturers be allowed to break laws?
