Matthew 22:37-38
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the first and great commandment.”

We actually must PROVE our LOVE for the LORD …

1 John 2:5, NLT
Those who obey God’s word truly show
how completely they love Him. That is how
we know we are living in Him.”

BACs who have “no condemnation” are “in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).

1 John 5:3, NLT
Loving God means keeping His commandments,
and His commandments are not burdensome.”

John 14:15-24
If you love Me, obey My commandments
… He who has My commandments and obeys them, it is he who loves Me
… If anyone loves Me, he will obey My word
… He who does NOT love Me
does NOT obey My words”

Does anyone get to heaven who does NOT love Jesus?
Those who love Jesus will obey His commandments!

IF you PROVE that you LOVE Jesus, then you have
met one of the qualifications for salvation …

Romans 8:28-30
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”

Another way to PROVE your LOVE for the LORD …

James 1:12-15
“Blessed is the man who endures temptation;
for when he has been approved, he will receive
the crown of life which the Lord has promised to
those who love Him … But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived,
it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”

Love Jesus >>> endure temptation >>>
do not sin >>> crown of (eternal) life

John 15:9-14
“… abide in My love.
If you obey My commandments,
you will abide in My love
… You are My friends,
if you do whatever I command you.”

Those who are Jesus’ friends will obey His commandments!
Does anyone get to heaven who is NOT Jesus’ friend?

John 15:6
“If anyone does NOT abide in Me,
he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”

Excellent thread, BC.
Thanks, Gracia ...
the Lord wants people to see all of
these NT Scriptures that I post!
Their pastors don't show them,
so the Lord wants some of us to do it.
Then, the people are really responsible
for what they do with these verses!

I want to encourage you with where you are going. You are getting into something very deep, precious, good, and True, which some Christians never quite work out. It is a beautiful truth. God bless you, BC.

Hey my brother.. I disagree with you some times.. but praise GOD you post the word to try to back up how you believe.. so beautiful..

HAHA that being said.. sorry your wrong. Well think.. we get that pull by the sweet sweet holy Spirit. we go up front or were on the street lost no home nothing or were living in a nation that ONLY has ONE god..you think when we believe John 3:16-17 Rom 10:9-10.. you think everyone is in LOVE with Jesus?

How can you love someone you don't know? Then you added a word "prove" <---that is NOT what the word says. John 3:16 is clear and try to remember they didn't HAVE the NT...so some just heard about this man.. God that did wonders..if you believe in Him you live forever.. that was it..

Your 1st verse....WHAT was said before that? "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" WHO was He talking to? Then the 2nd one.. read it KVJ... But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him."..

How was it ORG written? Sorry SOME translations are very bad. And.. you wont like this.. but YES MILLIONS ..maybe BILLIONS are in heaven.. THINK.. the thief? You think he LOVED JESUS? He didn't even know Him.. and think OT NT "anyone that calls on the name of the lord shall be saved"...and think. how many have been saved on deaths door.. and never heard of JESUS and JUST before they die.. believe.. NEVER knowing Him.... .but are saved.. since they believe.. who so ever believes.. shall not die..will have every lasting life..

John 6:27-29

27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

All God requires for salvation is faith in his Son.

Those who prefer their favorite verses
over the verses that I present ...
are in a serious difficulty because they are
ignoring and/or rejecting some NT verses!
They actually need to RECONCILE both
groups of verses ... both need to be believed.

Then we have the situation where ...
people are responsible for what they know!

I.E. all of the verses that I am showing them,
they are responsible for what they do with them!

Years of prayer, slowly studying the lives of the Saints, Church history, and more prayer. And grace.
WOW ... That's impressive!
IMO, the Holy Spirit (who indwells you)
revealed these spiritual Truths to you.
Sincere searchers over time receive more revelation.

It's one thing quoting verses of Scripture. Did you know that devil believes the gospel, and every Scripture you have quoted? He fully accepts the principles behind each quote and knows full well that they are very appropriate for every Christian believer. Actually, he has a much deeper insight into what the gospel is all about that we do!

But, there is vast difference between quoting Scriptures in an abstract manner, and actually applying those Scriptures as practice in our lives. This is the big difference between the devil and converted Christians. The devil knows everything about the gospel and the need to live a holy life before God, but He does not have the Holy Spirit within him to be able put what he knows into practice.

Prove - to whom exactly?
Hi @BCsenior, I echo Dave's question, "prove it - to whom exactly"?

Does God know the hearts of men .. or does He not? Further, is He not the One who makes the gracious choice that saves us? (or is He perhaps a bit forgetful nowadays and needs to reminded of the decisions He’s made from time to time :p;))

Finally, does our salvation rest (even in part) in something/someone else, such that we need to inform Him of the various things that we've done to merit His favor (so that we can prove ourselves personally worthy of being saved)?

Thanks!

--David
p.s. - testing/validating/demonstrating/justifying our claim of faith is a Biblical admonishment/command to be sure, but that to ourselves and others, not to God.

2 Corinthians 13
5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?

Yes, absolutely ... I do this dozens of times a day,
so often in fact that I have NO time for anything else!

How many qualifications are there will you list them please.
Sorry, the qualifications I mentioned
were referring to these 2 ...

Interesting:
Is anyone called, but NOT according to His purpose?

(Some are called by Satan to be weeds in the wheat.) lol
