Donald has the potential to do some real good here, if he can stay focused and not be distracted by the shiny bauble Un will most likely dangle in front of him -- a formal end to the Korean War.

Such a declaration wouldn't cause any practical changes, although it would be quite the diplomatic feather in Donald's cap... and probably get him that Nobel Peace Prize he covets so desperately.

If Un offers a Korean peace in exchange for, let's say, Donald abandoning his denuclearization crusade, there's a very real possibility that he'll take the bait... resulting in an award for himself, and a nuclear program for a North Korea that no longer needs to focus its attention on South Korea.

The question becomes, is Donald that gullible? Some of his own experts seem to think he might be, and who am I to second guess the experts?

Naturally, I have lots of doubts. Still, I saw relations with China and with Vietnam thaw, when I was younger, and I wouldn't have thought those possible. So, there's hope.

While I am doubtful anything will come of it I remain hopeful. If Trump manages to pull off a win here it will be a nice feather in his cap. I expect his sycophants will spin it as a win no matter what happens.

I think it would have been rather humorous if Kim had served Trump hamburgers, French fries and pizza during their dinner. I'm sorry, that would be hamberders, not hamburgers. My mistake.
