Pelosi Tweets About Protecting 'God's Creation.' Nikki Haley Dunks On Her.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Thursday saying she was concerned about “God’s creation” and “generations to come,” former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley ripped Pelosi on Twitter, stating, “Does God’s creation not include protecting babies as well Madame Speaker? A committee on that issue would be welcome.”

Pelosi’s tweet was celebrating the inception of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, which was established in January when the Democrats gained control of the House of Representatives. Pelosi had tweeted on Thursday, “We have a moral responsibility to protect God’s creation for generations to come. That is why today, we named members to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.

I would say something but It's church tomorrow and I have already sinned a lot so no need for me to argue now.

Good night you all!
Yes must prepare to bring our worship to church tomorrow.

I love what Nancy Pelosi said! I love that she said it publicly.

And it is, in my view, a moral responsibility, if you believe, as do I, that this planet is God’s creation, and we have a moral responsibility to be good stewards of it. Or if you don’t share that religious view, but you just understand that we have a generational moral responsibility to pass the planet on to the next generation in the best possible way, then it has that standing as well.

“So, it’s health, security, jobs, jobs, jobs, and again, preserving God’s creation.”

For a Catholic, Nikki Haley shouldn't be praising the Catholic Church for "everyday miracles" while many of its perverted sexual predator priests are being relocated to other parishes and not being prosecuted and thrown in prison where they can rot for their rest of their miserable existence.

I always liked Nikki Haley, an interesting jab at the speaker.
It’s as if some see humans as alien invaders and not part of the creation of life on earth.

I think the speaker was trying to say we need to be good stewards of what God created. I agree. This includes all of God’s creation.

If Haley was in the church hierarchy I could see your point. She is a layperson.

In the Catholic Church there is little voice in the laity bringing charges against clergy. They can and do appeal to their bishops and cardinals but as we have seen some were complicit in the relocations or are accused pedophiles and accused of pederasty.

The laity has been vocal lately in exposing some circles of clergy who not only abuse teen boys but also adult seminary students.

"B-b-b-b-but what about abortion? Checkmate!"

- A definitely smart person

Haley is right. Human beings are God’s greatest creation make in God’s image and according to His likeness.

If we are going to be good stewards protecting the nests and eggs of the golden-cheeked warbler, then protecting life in the womb from premeditated murder should be on the speaker’s agenda.

Being right on a point doesn't mean that diverting to that as a 'gotcha' and then yelling checkmate means that they've "won" some sort of imaginary argument. I could just as easily say: "if we are going to be good stewards to babies, then we should protect the environment that surrounds us". Works both ways.

What’s imaginary about 55 million US babies willingly aborted since 1973?

If one is going to speak of God’s creation they should address God’s greatest creation Imago Dei.

What's imaginary about a climate that's getting warmer because we pollute it with toxic chemicals? If we're going to speak about God's creation, I agree: it's not enough to obsess endlessly over abortion - even though it's a worthy subject of disapproval - but ALL of God's creation.

Haley's mistake is trying to play 'gotcha'. It's like trying to address rat poison in the food while someone is loudly complaining that the butter is sliced too thickly.

I was addressing consistency. We are to be good stewards of God’s creation.

I am also. I don't necessarily disagree with you about abortion, despite what you may think.

But I think that whataboutism over abortion when politicians like AOC are trying to address the environment is unhelpful. That's all I'm saying. Haley looks less like she's trying to really address issues than play gotcha games, and that's neither helpful for her position or Pelosi's, in my opinion.
