Ocasio-Cortez adviser admits he falsely claimed Green New Deal didn't promise security for those 'unwilling' to work'

A top adviser to New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has admitted that an official "Green New Deal" document posted by Ocasio-Cortez's office contained a guarantee of economic security even for those "unwilling to work" -- but not before he went viral in progressive circles for claiming the exact opposite, repeatedly, in an interview with Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

Ocasio Cortez and her advisors need to be more truthful.

And a little more down-to-earth for I do not want to support ones that just are (unwilling to work).

That's what gets people's goats more than just about anything else besides abortion. We as Americans have had the protestant work ethic so drilled into us that we cannot abide the thought of a lazy person. Lost your job? We'll help you out until you find another one. Children hungry? We'll gladly feed them. Are you simply lazy? Be thankful you're not being tarred and feathered and driven out of town on a rail.

I hear this from conservatives a lot; and yet almost every conversation involving SNAP is based on this incorrect preconception that most to all of them are lazy and unwilling . so while it's lovely to read I hope to hear that compassion and grace extended always.

The elephant in the room is the fact that there will be fewer jobs in future. The mechanization of farming dis-employed millions, who then were absorbed by the then-labor-intensive industrial economy. Now those jobs are being automated. What's next? Has anybody thought it through? What we need is a new way of distributing the wealth created by an increasingly automated econmy. And yes, that will include some kind of stipend for those who are unemployable.

imo, if we get to that point there should be programs to keep people employed in order to be of value to society. They can earn the stipend.

Raising wages would help. I know several families where both parents have to work just to get by and they don't want to both be working.

(2) It is very hypocritical for any Christian to point a judgmental finger at a liberal politician for lying when he or she supports and defends the current President, who is well known for his lies.

Case in point...

All False statements involving Donald Trump

Donald Trump masqueraded as publicist to brag about himself

Donald Trump's Long, Strange History of Using Fake Names | Fortune

President Trump made 8,158 false or misleading claims in his first two years

(3) Conservative Christians who support Trump have absolutely no moral right or moral standing to point a judgmental finger at any liberal politician for any kind of sinful behavior, especially for lying, considering Trump once lied about being a publicist to further brag about himself. Any attempt to pretend to be morally indignant about any liberal politician lying and to point a judgmental finger at said liberal politician could be seen as blatant hypocrisy on the part of the Christian Trump supporter.

The left says that our jobs will be gone in the near future. Sounds like fear mongering in order to pass a socialist agenda.
Many of them will be. What about it?

The "socialist agenda" will be what we do unless the Right can come up with something better.

Im sure anything is better than paying lazy people to do nothing
Even letting them starve?

If it turns out that there are not enough jobs to go around, who else--besides the disabled and the incompetent--will be left out? Would you have them do make-work jobs? Why is it so important that everyone be employed, as long as they get subsistence?
