Congratulations on all those life events in such a short time. Are you still teaching as well as being a chaplain? I didn’t realise that state schools had chaplains.
I am still teaching, as well as being a church warden, and a granny.
And of course I remember you. Do you know what Timothy is up to?
That role sounds great. We fund a mission partner for our local secondary school, but I don’t think they get anywhere near Youth Alpha. An increasing number have chaplains and the CofE is really pushing it and investing in it at the moment. Ultimately, if young people aren't coming to church then the place we're going to have to meet them is in schools. It's currently not a teaching role - I focus on pastoral support, leading worship in school, and finding opportunities to explore the gospel with our students. So last year for example all our year 9 students (around 270) went through Youth Alpha over ten weeks. I keep waiting for someone to say that I'm being too 'Jesus-y' but no-one's said anything yet so I'm just going to keep going!
Gosh, it sounds like your life is pretty full! Congratulations on being a granny, if that's a new development! I don't know anything Timothy unfortunately. I'm connected to Karen, Haylea, the Beavers and Glenn (gtsec) via facebook but that's all.
I’m on snow watch.sitting here with the fire on drinking tea and with a blanket and a pillows pj on
If I get a snow day tomorrow, I will walk as far as ‘Spoons.i like it when snow falls but afterwords i need to watch out i dont fall am normally unsteady on my feet at the best of times
I assure you, I won’t be suffering if I get a snow day.Yikes snow! It is hot here in some places the 40's and late 30's celsius, and in the north, there are flooding rains from a monsoon. I saw on the news yesterday that artic freezing air is causing deaths in the northern hemisphere.
I pray for all who are suffering...
I assure you, I won’t be suffering if I get a snow day.
Snow days are the best. Fact.
