A New Migrant Caravan Forms, and Old Battle Lines Harden

Héctor Romero, 37, has decided he is going to join the caravan on Tuesday. “I have had only two days’ work a week for the past three months and that barely covers expenses,” said Mr. Romero, who collects bus fares in a small town about 40 miles west of San Pedro Sula, the city from which the caravan intends to start. “I didn’t have the courage to go last time, but this time I do.”

The divorced father of four is taking his 12-year-old daughter with him, believing that it may improve his chances with United States immigration authorities.

Truth is -- according to the statements made by this gentleman above he does not qualify for amnesty.

Working 2 days a week to cover expenses sounds like some people's dream job.

Enough is enough.

Build the wall already and declare a national emergency and prosecute those behind the sponsoring of these caravans.

Praying for the protection of our country, that God intervenes as only He can, especially involving deliberate and premeditated plans for, and attempts, to criminally invade our country and to attempt to cause our country's demise.

Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen.

None of them do.

Hector Romero should be arrested if he sets foot in Mexico, along with any other illegal invaders/criminals. He just told on himself and his "intentions".

And in particular, neither do the violent rock throwers at the border qualify for "amnesty", those barraging and violently attacking our border patrol/border.

This is an invasion. Those behind sponsoring these caravans/invasions need to be prosecuted and all of their assets seized and their cohorts assets to pay for the wall and to pay damages, including Mexico, that is complicit. They are right smack there in Mexico, violently attacking our borders/border patrol, as Mexico allows this to be done from THEIR borders.

Enough is enough.

"Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake." ~Isa 54:15

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." ~Isa 54:17

Praying.

Let it rain.

Praying for those traveling in these caravans, all of whom Jesus died for just as He did for us. Many of those traveling in these caravans are our brothers and sisters in Christ who had to make a difficult choice to leave their homes to make the long journey to seek the safe confines of the US and a better opportunity for themselves and their families. We should also pray that God will be with these people in their suffering and for the Church to be with them in their time of need.

Yes, many don't realize economic is not enough to qualify for amnesty.

Many others though are fleeing for their lives or the lives of their children. Anyone who knows the situation in many of Honduras' urban neighborhoods understands people are making decisions to survive....just as you or I would do in the same situation.

I agree Let's Build That Wall or fence or whatever they want to call it and then prosecute any employers that employ these illegal ones and get this issue behind us. It is time to move on.

It just appears the politicians are playing games on both sides. Let's get some compromise going! That's what we're paying you guys to do. LEAD the country. Tackle this immigration problem that has been going on for decades!

Sorry President Trump that it all got dumped in your lap but, thank you for having the guts to deal with the problem.

How could you or Trump ever get the idea that the point of contention is the name tag?

I am going to respond once to you: There is no way you can know that unless your are God.

Read posts #3 and #5.

To call Hector or anyone in the caravan/invasion something they are not (a refugee) does a dis-service and insults genuine refugees and those "fleeing" for their very lives, seeking refuge (hiding) from those pursuing them to kill them.

It's a travesty and it hurts genuine refugees seeking much-needed asylum.

Yes, he does have the guts to deal with it.

Always did.

It's been part of his platform and still is, against a tsunami of resistance and fighting and a swamp of a mess that shows how deep and mucky it really is, roaring and growling against him.

THIS is most interesting to me.

Watch it un-fold.

Who knew it was such a swampy and deep and mucky and slimy pit?

Well there it is.

We sponsor children in South America maybe more should step up to bat?

Many complain but, how many actually do anything so as to help the situation?

M-Bob
That's great, but even if every child in Central America had a sponsor, what kind of future do those children have in countries that are plagued with violence, corruption, high unemployment, and poverty? Unless the root causes of the problems are addressed, much of which can be traced directly to the United States, those same children that are being sponsored today will someday have to flee in search of safety or better opportunity; or even worse, become another statistic of the violence in that region.

We always have and do (including myself). America has been, and is one of the most generous nations in the world.

For those criminally attacking and and planning to, and even announcing their intention to invade/attack our border/border patrol is contemptuous.

They and those sponsoring them need to be arrested and held accountable, including Mexico that is allowing itself to be used as a launching board for attacks against our border/border patrol.

Praying.

I just read that there may be legal issues with that option that could block the wall being built while it worked its way through the court, so I am not sure how effective that would even be, but I am praying SOMETHING is worked out.

The divorced father of four is taking his 12-year-old daughter with him, believing that it may improve his chances with United States immigration authorities.

This is the thing that's absolutely and totally abhorrent. People are (falsely) told by activists that they can get US residency if they take children along, so they do. But taking children on such a long walk puts them through a lot of trauma and, in some cases, kills them.
