How Israel's Christians are fighting moves to take their land away

"Christians in Jerusalem are warning of another attempt by Israeli parliamentarians to take land they own.

Just days before Christmas, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin stepped in to prevent an attempt by one of the coalition partners in the Netanyahu government to allow the state to 'confiscate' or nationalise church-owned lands. This was the fifth occasion on which factions within the governing coalition sought to impose legislation which would allow expropriation of Church lands...."

It is ironic, isn't it?

Many Christians in the West want to help the Jewry possess a land that is no longer theirs, guided by a misunderstanding of the text of Scripture, and yet witness the old hostility they have against God by attempting to remove other Christians who actually live there. Zionists hate God, they don't care about our support, and we should not support them, or we will be supporting a cause against Christ.

How many countries has this been done in , just in the last 200 years ?

Germany , for one...... and Russia, for two.... China, three....

I haven't researched this at all, but expect it happened in dozens of countries, if not over 100 countries. Not even going back more than 100 years !

I agree. Slowly, very, very slowly, I am coming out of a deeply Evangelical, Zionist outlook. I am not sure what to replace it with. But it is true that Israel tends to treat Christians poorly, and even looks down on and persecutes Messianic Jews within her borders.

Which has been their mottus operandi for the last 2,000 years. You don’t have to replace it with anything other than a desire to see Christ-rejecting Jews saved, but just to know that they are no friend of Christ. One either follows the doctrine of Christ, or follows the doctrine of the Jews. They are not compatible in the least.

Well, what if they attempt to rebuild the temple? They will return to sacrificing animals, priestly services, etc. When did Christians in the early church encourage Jews to continue in their old religion? Rather, wasn't it their mission to proclaim Christ crucified to them and to see those things as shadows that are done away with? Are we helping them rebel against the gospel? Are we building what God torn down? People aren't realizing the consequences of this.

I typically look at them the same I look at muslims.

Though actually I prefer muslims as I see the Quran as closer to the Old Testament the the Jewish Talmud, which is about 50 times the size of the OT and adds ridiculous amounts of unbiblical nonsense.

At least the Quran is fairly positive towards Christ, whereas the Jewish Talmud calls Mary a harlot and Christ various other names. It also gives Jews all kinds of nice racist ways of treating gentiles.

I support Palestinian Christians and Muslims. Anything but the Fascist Zionists Chanting "Kill all Arabs" at their rallies in Israel.

Yeah, tell that to all of the main Republicans politicians. Totally forsaken their brothers and sisters in Christ to fulfill apocalyptic non-sense.
Thank you. Yes. The Early Church reading of the Jerusalem of Revelation being actually symbolic of the Church makes way more sense.

I guess if we the church are now what was considered Israel, then the land belongs to us.

I will demand my condo overlooking the Dead Sea.
