The Sabbath is the 'Lords Day', not Sunday.

..or the first day.

Exodus 20:8-11
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

It is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God, not Moses' sabbath, or the Jews sabbath, or anyone Else's sabbath.

Leviticus 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

We see the same.

Deuteronomy 5:12-13
12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. 13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: 14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

Again the same.

Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

It was not 'Moses' sabbath.

Leviticus 19:1-2
1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. 3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 19:30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

Leviticus 26:2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

Isaiah 56:4-6
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Ezekiel 20:12-13
12Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. 13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

Ezekiel 20:16 Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

Ezek 20:19-24
19I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;
20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. 21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. 22 Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth. 23 I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries; 24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

Ezekiel 22:8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

Ezekiel 22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Ezekiel 23:38 Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.

The Lord claims the sabbath as His very own. It is a day, therefore it is literally, the Lord's day. This clear so how many times must the Lord call the sabbath His day to understand that there is only one day in the scriptures that would be referred to as the Lord's day? Other than the seventh day sabbath, the Lord's day can also refer to the day on which He will return to this earth. That is all. Sunday, or the first day of the week is never referred to as the Lord's day in the scriptures.

This title was only applied to Sunday later on, to cover their deception. It was applied by those who began the apostasy and abomination which was the result of the amalgamation of apostate Christianity and pagan sun worship.

Well lets look in the New Testament, its repeated...

Matthew 12:8
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Mark 2:28
Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Luke 6:5
And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.

That is true that Saturday is the sabbath, but the sabbath is not a day of corporate worship it is a day of rest.

Leviticus 23:3 For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings.

“Holy Convocation” = corporate worship.

Is not Holy Convocation only used in conjunction with the priesthood and sacrifices. Would the Holy Convocation only be for the priest and the place for the Holy Convocation be for only the Tabernacles or Temple used for the purpose of sacrifices

And if I were the type to report people I would report the OP for this:

"This title was only applied to Sunday later on, to cover their deception. It was applied by those who began the apostasy and abomination which was the result of the amalgamation of apostate Christianity and pagan sun worship."

Is insulting every Christian martyr who ever lived by calling them "apostate" and "abomination" and accusing them of "pagan sun worship" and "deception" allowed provided you do it in your own forum?

And since this is the SDA forum, and that is essential doctrine of the SDA, you would be reporting them for believing their own denominational doctrines.

Personally, I think the “Lord’s day” has been misunderstood across the board. It is linguistically the same as “Day of the Lord” which indicates the final day of destruction and judgement. But that is my opinion.

..or the first day.

Is the purpose of the Scripture message to command us to perform particular physical actions without an understanding of their purpose; or is the real purpose of Scripture to teach us about our Spiritual Being and give us guidance in maturing the life in us into a Child of GOD? I believe the latter.

Consider that it is unlikely that Man has accurately followed the 7days plus 7 days plus 7 days, etc. pattern from the 7th day of Creation as interpreted by religious leaders. This means that what we now call Saturday today may have actually have been any other present day of the week thousands of years ago.

Now, if the Scripture message is actually telling us about our Spiritual Being and how to mature into a Child of GOD, then the physical day of the week is completely irrelevant. With this in mind, I will propose another possible interpretation of what the Sabbath means.

We are told in Genesis that Man is in the image of GOD. That means to me that our Spiritual Being has a Spiritual pattern that mirrors GOD's Spiritual pattern. Now we know that Man must change to mature into a Child of GOD. How we change will depend entirely on the nature of our Spiritual pattern. Just suppose that in order for that change to occur, 6 aspects of our Spiritual pattern must change to produce the goal of the change in the 7th aspect of our being where the change resides (Spiritual Heart). As all living things grow, they change in small steps. I assume it would be the same for my growth into a Child of GOD ("give us this day our daily bread"). Our change into a Child of GOD would then be a series of small changes--one after the other. Each one would essentially be 7 changes in the same order over and over until a Child of GOD has matured.

Consider that any change that occurs in our life cannot be expressed until the change is complete. I have assumed that takes a change in 7 aspects, then on the 8th 'day' that change can be expressed and manifested. Consider that an Israelite baby is circumcised on the 8th day. The number 50 is also important representing 7x7+1 = 50. This would be where 7x7 changes have been unified in the heart and can be expressed and manifested on the 50th 'day'.

The traditions Scripture has given us to practice in the physical world are not irrelevant, though. They must be maintained to insure future generations have the tools to understand how we are to mature into a Child of GOD. Fortunately, the Bible serves this purpose very well if studied while guided by the Holy Spirit.

Notice how all of those verses are Old Testament?
Romans 14:5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.
Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

Yes, the previously quoted texts were "Old Testament." However, what difference does that make? I got love letters from my wife before we got married. Did getting married invalidate those expressions of love in those letters? Not in the slightest.

Two of those texts that were quoted were: Exodus 31:13 and Ezekiel 20:12-20. They present the most important point about the Sabbath. It is a sign, a SIGN, that God is the one who is sanctifying that person.

Look at it this way. Two gentlemen ask a lady out for a date on the same day. What does it "signify" or indicate about who she loves the most? Is it not by which date she accepts? Two gods are seeking our love, Jehovah, the God of Heaven and Satan, the Devil, the god of this world. They both want our worship. One wants to meet with us on the first day of the week, the other wants to meet with us on the seventh. The day we choose indicates which God has our love. Which God is in control of our moral choices. That's why it is such a vital issue. Nothing can change that.

Maranatha :)

First let's look at Romans 14:5. This text is addressing how people approach the day of worship. There is nothing in this text that indicates any change at all in which day God has established for Him to meet with us.

In the Bible, God tells mankind that He will meet with us on the seventh-day of the week. That is the ONLY day He has chosen. He invites us to keep that date with Him. How we respond, tells God and the world; which God we are serving. This is all about how we respond, it does not say a word about which day is holy. It only deals with which day we have chosen.

Now let's look at:
Colossians 2:16 "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day."

This text is about judging, not worshipping. People tend to believe we will be saved or lost by this list of issues that are listed here.
1. Our Diet
2. Which Religious festivals, such as a New Moon etc., we observe.
3. About "a Sabbath day," or which rest day we observe.
Notice it does not say: "The Sabbath day," but "a sabbath day." The word "Sabbath" means a day of rest. Today we might call it a "holiday," or a "holy day," or a Vacation.

None of these are issues for US to use to judge anyone on. They are just indicators as to which God we have chosen to rule our lives.

The Bible says that the day we choose tells the world which god we love. Just because we love that god, it does not determine whether we will be saved of lost. It only tells the world which path we are on.

Before I got married, I dated several ladies, all of them very nice ladies. However, just because I dated them, it did not mean I would marry them. True, there was a good chance that I might, but which one I might marry could not be judged by the ladies I dated. Likewise, whether we are saved or lost cannot be determined, by which day we worship on. That is not the chief determinate. It cannot be the ultimate point we are judged on. However, it is a strong indicator. And there is a very good chance that we will choose that god.

Flee Seventh Day Adventism

I am not sure just what is meant here. Here are some possible meanings:

1. Flee from the church called the Seventh-day Adventist church. But, it does not give any rational to make that choice.

2. Flee from any "ism." I have meet some who are very leery of what they label as an "ism." I would be hard pressed to prove them wrong.

3. Flee from basing one's hope of salvation only on which day we choose to worship on.

I can agree, in some cases conditionally, with all three of those points, more or less. It would be of interest to know what the author meant when that was posted.

OK, what is the point? All that these texts are saying is that the Seventh-day Sabbath is God's Holy day. What is the point that the one asking the question is making?

Mat 18:19 - “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

Canon 29 of the Council of Laodicea

Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.

This is a common misconception. One does not "Judaize" by resting on the seventh-day Sabbath. In fact, it is more likely that they are "Judaizing" by not worshipping on the Sabbath, depending on how you define "Judaizing." The Seventh day Sabbath is God's holy day, not Judah's holy day. Actually, a better argument can be made for rejecting Christ as being Judaizing. Think about it.
