I don't know why, but whenever I seek to contribute towards most of these discussions, the Lord concludes my answers with PURPOSE.

We may not be quick to see what the Lord requires of us(sometimes by reason of the multitude of these physical things around about us), but this one thing is what brings the true significance of the kingdom of God; and that is ONE's PURPOSE in the kingdom of God.
I strongly believe that when Jesus corrected us to go from seeking after food, drink, clothing e.t.c to seeking after the kingdom of God: He meant for us to seek after Purpose.
For if a soul finds her purpose in the kingdom, it's that purpose that explains the Love and the burning desire to continue in the Lord, but if one seeks not his or her purpose in Christ, he may find himself following after men and deceptive philosophy rather than him following after Christ.

Purpose is what brings us to understand the Lord and His work in us on a personal basis, because Purpose writes you to a possession and responsibility(Or a Territory upon the foundation of Christ).
If one misinterprets or does not give himself unto true purpose, he be as one who builds their house upon an unstable ground: he maybe born unto Christ, but has not received His purpose in Him; he may be a house cleaned but not filled unto Purpose.
Anything or anyone that is not received into Purpose, stands vulnerable unto attacks from adversity.
We may not know it, but Purpose is that wherein the Love of God is established. For God is not going to leave you if you remain in purpose(doing those things which please Him - John 8:29, John 14:11). His Word is not given unto us to only believe, but the Word is given most importantly for Purpose(the Work of Love).

Now, I will also not have you ignorant of this truth: Purpose is not just about your Work in Him, but it's also about His Work in you, so that your Work might be according to His Work: Your Purpose according to His Purpose, simply because He has gotten a greater purpose(the big picture) unto which your purpose is directed: for each and everyone of us is a piece of the main Rock of Christ Jesus; To complete a House unto the Father.

Therefore, let us seek to know the main purpose of God in man, which purpose will also explain our purpose also. And therein, we'll have our confidence and righteousness sealed unto Him. For then, one is given to see the preeminence of God's Work over the works of this world.

God richly bless you all.

If I had to sum it up in one word, "PRIDE."
False teachings.
People generally have no idea what they reject.
The ideas they do have are taught to them by peers in the media.
They see no reason to question their peers either.

same slippery slope?

I disagree. The slippery slope is accepting what the visible church says as they continue to change what the Scriptures say/mean.

well then modern theorists like yourself, inventing novel interpretations never part of the historically attested church teachings, are actually continuing the Exact tradition and trend you are alleging The church does.

Uh, no. I'm just listening to God. But, you aren't asking for my confirmation of your walk with God, right? My walk with God doesn't require your confirmation or your approval, either. I wish politics had never overtaken the visible church. I wish money, power, prestige and control were never part of the visible church. Then, there wouldn't be so many divisions. The One Holy Spirit is alive in all those who are truly His. The true church includes them all. It just is a church that transcends man-made walls and man-made divisions.

Even if all missed these good words, I did not. Perhaps I will explain it another way. When Jesus said "My Father is always working", so it is with us. For he is also working through us, for His purpose, even if we can not see it at the time. Weather we speak, weather we write, in all that we do. or in all that we do not do He is working His purpose out through us. So be encouraged I hear you. With me personally, I become all things to all people. Like a Master builder He builds upon the words we speak to people. Only He knows what to say, and thus we speak.

Don't accept what anyone says without verification from the Father in heaven in harmony with His Word, Scripture.

No novel interpretations, no old interpretations, no young interpretations
no interpretations needed.

Simply trust the Heavenly Father to Reveal the Truth, as written. (as He Says He Does) .

He is Perfectly Honest and Totally Trustworthy and True.

QUOTE="Emli, post: 73294824, member: 395763"]I have seen Christian who know who Jesus is, but who have rejected Him and His teachings, refusing to follow Him. Why? I see those who claim to know Him, but don't walk in love? Why? They reject His goodness, mercy, love and grace, and stay hateful and selfish. I understand that they reject the Holy Spirit. But why? They even attack and seem to hate those who show the fruit of the Spirit and live for God's Glory, even in the name of Jesus who they claim to worship.

I'm not sure what answer I am looking for. The obvious answer would be pride and jealousy because they aren't changed yet. But it must go deeper.[/QUOT
