Kaon, i suppose others here know where your trying to go with your point; America is responsible for destabilizing Honduras etc. America is responsible for ruining the whole world - and thats why everyone wants to come here, so they can participate in destroying the rest of the world - good, but still you have to wait your turn to join our evil empire - thats the one rule we have left!
I have debated this before, agreed we sometimes have screwed with and screwed things up at times for many countries, yet, no we aren't the reason why these countries cant get their crap together, generally they just can't get their crap together, thats it. And much more often than not these countries prosper and do much better because of the US.
Its odd, and yet still so many want us to 'continue' to 'help' these countries but it never works out. And agreed we should stay out, other countries are responsible for their own plight just as we are... I totally disagree with the argument that its our problem,or our fault.
it would be much better to debate that here, or not in this thread at least;
Latin America
That is part of the point - your thesis. But, instead of marginalizing the entire thing in order to avoid the hypocrisy of being an active or complacent participant in what the country now broods over, how about some thought?
Why not imagine what it would be like when China and Korea imperializes America, and you feel forced to run to Canada, or Mexico even? There is a serious American fetish for xenophobia - and this is especially ironic considering the history of the States.
Would you expect they would treat you as nice as the States has treated them? I imagine they would have a lot to say (a la "they are murderers...acute divorcees, homosexuals...")
Yet, you completely bypassed layperson responsibility (voting for these destabilization and being ignorant of them when warned) to get to your message. That is fine.
Just remember when America is imperialized how they treated others similarly. I am not playing blame game, I am saying look in the proverbial mirror, Christians especially.
American arrogance and exceptionalism will magnify its fall; the world does not want to invade America. The world would rather America get out of its myopia.
