Not yet. I do not get paid until Friday. But yes, I will donate.

Umm...just tangentially, was that a serious comment? That you'd like to donate, but do not have the cash reserves to do so until your payday 2 days away? No judgement, but it must be difficult living hand-to-mouth like that. Perhaps , given it's Christmas, your family will benefit more from the money that a wall fund will.

Fresh perspective?

Sure... we all know congress, the house and the Gov are all about the will of the people.
Politics, decisions, overall (much longer than our lifetimes) >>

Yeah, but no one cares anymore. That envelope was pushed too far. If it has come to the point where attempts to circumvent opposition occur, than it is blatantly obvious it is intended to be completed without your input, consent, or even consideration.

Family, someone else so poor they don't have clothes for the cold weather, or good food, or something else like heat in the house.....

Thanks for helping out with the upkeep once it's up.... appreciate it.

You're welcome. Since I'll already be doing upkeep on a wall that will never be built anywhere except in imaginations, let me know if you've got any imaginary friends I should pray for?

I'm good. But yes I live off a whooping $16,000 a year. My daughters are moved out. One is getting married on the 28th. So I do not have to worry about my girls that are in their late 20's. My Mom is loaded, and my Godmother who helps her makes $158,000 a year. I am the outcast of the family, and the only one in poverty.

Indeed. 18000 of them, in fact. A quick divide by 300 million gets us to 0.006% of the population...wow, it's even less popular than we thought! Good find, LM, good find.

Out of interest, were you one of the 0.006%?

obviously you've hit him in his weak spots. math and reality.

It is exceedingly better to be poor and honest, than well to do with dishonest gain.
Also, you are rich in what is important, rich in faith !

It's almost as if taxpayers want the wall and are willing to pay for it. Even if not enough money is raised, the current 18,036 donations are more meaningful as implied intent than any signatures on a petition. Every single donation to this fund is implied consent, willingness to fund, and approval of the wall backed be real world currency to be used for that purpose.

GoFundMe launched to pay for Trump's border wall, nears $1M in two days

I wonder how the government would work on a GoFundMe basis where there are no more taxes, where the government proposes projects they want done, and where those that get funded by the citizens get done.

Now that is true. But what's really shameful is when poor folks are exploited for dishonest gain. Folks were rich in faith that Mexico was going to buy the wall. Now you've got poor people fooled into giving up money they don't have for a wall that isn't needed & won't ever be built.

Just like all the wars , (and deceptive medical (so-called) progress that cost trillions in the last 5 decades) , in the last hundred plus years....

Politics as usual..... and getting worse every day .... (for the last 120 years) ....

Remember the so-called great depression 1929?

Remember who suffered the most, who 'paid' for it with loss of their jobs and so forth...

I am of the mindset that it wouldn't. Personal agendas and opinions would be further exacerbated in my point of view. Now taxpayers would have to convince fellow taxpayers the necessity of paying a tax and so on.

I am poor because my career revolved around landscaping and heavy equipment/CDL driving. At the age of 43 no one is going to hire me to run around with a weedwacker all day. You higher 17 year olds to do that. I have over 20 years experience and 16 of those years is managerial experience. I am far too overqualified to be in a general labor position, too old to run with the youngins, but I cannot speak spanish. All landscape jobs in Orlando that would consider me for employment (as in managerial not labor) have almost entirely Mexican and or latino crews. 90% of the time Puerto Ricans get highered for management even with less experience, because they can speak spanish and english. Again, I physically am unable to keep up with a real crew, and could not do the miles upon miles of walking required in a day. I have no knowledge in construction other than lead crew or lead tendant. So I'm not qualified to have my butt in a truck or on equipment all day, and I can no longer do hard labor.

I lost my job out at Bonnet Creek Orlando Wyndham Resort, after having worked there for 8 years, and was managing 3 other crews off site at different locations also. I was boss man #2 in our company out in the disney/International drive area. I signed and handed out paychecks and received payments on accounts. Had 32 men. 18 accounts, 6 of which were multi million dollar properties. Made $20 an hour.

Some of my workers started complaining that both myself and my bossman, the guy above me, couldn't properly communicate what we wanted done, and before long we were fired. One puerto rican was hired replacing both of us. I started driving full time to make a living. Accidently my wife, thinking she was in her car and had an Epass to pay tolls, blew right thru tolls in my car getting my license suspended for 'failure to pay'. As a CDL driver... no license, no job. Putting us in the current situation that we can never make enough in a month to save for, or pay the fines on my license.

Now with all that other post stated, I do not feel "fooled" about anything. 100% honest. If we could do something about all the illegals taking jobs in central florida; I have a real chance of restarting my career. Everything from picking oranges, growing ferns, to weedwacking ditches is dominated by latinos. Even skilled labor in construction, and hospitality in hotels.

Jeepers, I wasn't putting you down for being poor or asking for your life story. If you want to believe in a fantasy about Donald's wall you'd be much better off believing him when he repeatedly promised that it was Mexico that would pay for it. That folks such as yourself who are living below the poverty line are willing to give away money at Christmas time when their daughter is about to get married to a crowdfunding publicity campaign for the wall just makes his whole scam about it all the sadder.

I'm sorry you've had a tough life. I can't believe you're only 43. From the way you write, I'd have thought you were 73. You're still in the prime working age. I work construction in New Jersey during the summers for my uncle's company, there's fellows in their 40s & 50s still busting their butts. It pays really well. I'm whiter than a glass of milk. I've also worked on farms in Georgia, again with folks much older than you. A lot of them speak Spanish, sure. I learned enough Spanish to get by just fine. It's so easy to learn.

I don't know how on earth the thing with your wife messing up your car has got anything to do with immigrants or the border wall.

So what are you doing now for work? Since you've shared so much I'm wondering.

Sounds like you're fixating on the wall hoping it's going to fix problems in your life. It won't. It's real important you understand that sooner than later. Before more time is wasted. It just feels cruel to me that there's folks such as yourself who are believing in the propaganda he's selling. I'm betting a bunch of those folks in Orlando aren't illegal. They'll stay put no matter what, on account of them being entitled to.

Trump's resorts give out visas to folks from Central America to work in jobs just like the ones you've said have been taken up in Orlando. He gives the visas to them on account of how those folks are willing to come in, bust their butts working hard for crappy pay nobody born in America would take. The #1 problem with illegal immigration in the US are with folks who fly in here, overstay their visas. Folks like the ones Donald's resorts hire. The wall won't fix that.

In my grandparent's area of Georgia there's a thriving migrant community that works the farms. It's backbreaking work. Lots of the white folks in the area are overweight, out of shape, they're grandparents at age 40, they're not willing to get up & do that sort of work. Turn their noses up at it. They live off the government instead & blame all their problems on the migrants. Meanwhile the migrants learn how to adapt. Learn English. Have their kids learn it. Obey the law. Buy houses, pay taxes. Everybody has to learn how to adapt to things to survive.

Is your point that all the nonsense Trump has done is going to cause another recession that'll hurt the very folks who support him the most? That's certainly what economists have said. He's going to lead us straight into a recession in the 2020s.

Yes.

Go and learn, Yahweh Willing, that Trump is not the force to reckon with, and is no more right nor at fault than the last 15 presidents generally..... the force behind them, as written in Scripture,
that people don't see,
is the danger, and will not be stopped until Jesus Returns.

Jeepers, I wasn't putting you down for being poor or asking for your life story.

No shame. A life's story is also their testimony. Happy to share.

If you want to believe in a fantasy about Donald's wall you'd be much better off believing him when he repeatedly promised that it was Mexico that would pay for it.

You still don't get that Trump is a troll do you? The whole Mexico thing was funny at the rallies. Everyone laughed and carried on. Most people don't care, and never actually held him to that cause we have a sense of humor. And we were poking fun at the media. Still it would be kinda cool if he pulled it off. 10 feet higher?

That folks such as yourself who are living below the poverty line are willing to give away money at Christmas time when their daughter is about to get married to a crowdfunding publicity campaign for the wall just makes his whole scam about it all the sadder.

Your worried about Christmas when I'm thinking about possibly having grandchildren. My daughter is good. She is marrying a young West Point Grad that is an Army officer out of Fort Drum and is going places. She is also college educated and works with disabled children. She is fine.

I'm sorry you've had a tough life.

I'm not. Builds character and faith. Besides, I've done everything from swim with sharks to climb mountains. I've lived under a bridge, and known what it's like to not know what a price tag is. This world is not mine, I do not care about things or stuff. Im loved. Got food, and a roof. And thankful for it.

I can't believe you're only 43. From the way you write, I'd have thought you were 73.

Thank you? Don't know how to take that, you whippersnapper.....

You're still in the prime working age. I work construction in New Jersey during the summers for my uncle's company, there's fellows in their 40s & 50s still busting their butts. It pays really well. I'm whiter than a glass of milk.

I was in a horrible accident that has messed me up to the point where I can no longer do hard labor. I was hit by a drunk driver going 70mph in my residential neighborhood that hit us on purpose while I was making a right turn onto my street. He was talking to 911 stating he was going to kill himself and take someone with him when he hit us. The car bellow was thrown 460 feet before I could regain control and over a thousand to stop. Because the initial impact broke the driver's seat in half as I was thrown into the backseat, then I was throw into the windshield when the car hit a fence and slowed. I was hospitalised and required therapy to walk. He lived and fled the scene, and was never caught. The phone and truck were both stolen and no one ever found out who the man was.

I've also worked on farms in Georgia, again with folks much older than you. A lot of them speak Spanish, sure. I learned enough Spanish to get by just fine. It's so easy to learn.

Arrogance, maybe pride. 'I was born in America... why do I need to learn spanish?' I thought, then the hammer fell.

I don't know how on earth the thing with your wife messing up your car has got anything to do with immigrants or the border wall.

Nothing. That dosent. I just like to be honest and there is no need to blame someone else. I wanted it framed honestly, not just demeaning illegal aliens.

So what are you doing now for work? Since you've shared so much I'm wondering.

I sell fireworks and other roadside goods. This is one of my tents.
