The rich nations need to help the poorer nations with $$ but mostly expertise on how to get their nation's economy going

Today, there is less to fear. On a recent warm evening, teenagers kicked around a soccer ball as a vendor selling yam chips circled with a pushcart and a high school marching band practiced nearby.
The transformation is (thanks in part to hundreds of millions of dollars the United States has spent) to help Honduras fight crime.

"Projection" = When one blames someone else for something they've done.

It's usually pre-meditated.

It's straight from Saul Alinsky's book on how to dismantle whole nations. The sponsors of the caravans are well-versed in it.

It's also known as "guilt-tripping".

And "shaming".

As is recommended, don't "buy into it".

It's a "manipulative tactic".

Fair perspective, which is why I picked a centrist news source. While I am liberal, I like to avoid liberal sensationalism. However, it should be noted that such a journey may not have taken place had they not been fleeing something horrible. Many of these people are refugees fleeing violence. I'm not an expert on Latin American state of affairs, but I do know many of these areas are rife with violence and exploitation. I wouldn't be so quick to blame the father as negligent. It is possible that he saw no other option for his daughter's safety, in which case I find I cannot blame him, and can only be deeply saddened by the event. For my own peace of mind, I need to know that in the spirit of the verses posted, everything was done by agents to save her. If she was neglected by US agents, a great injustice has then taken place.

The irony of this entire border fiasco comes when you consider who destabilized some of those nations to cause them to become "void," as it were.

It's not like that at all, if you lived in the USA you would quickly find out the truth. Also the governments of other nations have much to do with their citizens poverty, especially socialist governments but also the dictator types. Also reducing poverty is not the be all end all solution to the problems of mankind, never was nor will be. Finally, Robin Hood is a children's myth.

Bob, did you read Stanfordella's post here where she explained how the dad & girl are from an indigenous community of Guatemala? That's not the same country as Honduras. Did you read the part about how indigenous folks have been tortured? Sure does sound like there's a lot to fear for them. Have your goats finished their supper now? Still waiting on your translation for your source.

Dads fault 100%. You chose to bring your daughter on a dangerous journey. You put her in that position. To make it work you are part of a group of around 150 other people. So when you all arrive it means 150 people have be checked out by medical and there is only SO much medical staff available. If you had arrived not part of a group, she probably would have gotten medical attention right away.

So tired of illegals coming here and blaming ICE/border guards for what happens. Its like if a guard says "No swimming today, sharks have been sighted!" then I go out and swim anyway, get attacked and blame the guard because they should have done their job.

And how do you know "better economic prospects" is what he was seeking? Mexico is rife with drug violence as well. Maybe they didn't feel safe in Mexico either.

It is our duty to provide asylum to refugees. It is a legal process and a human rights OBLIGATION. It is not for us to judge whether they should have stopped in a different country. Refugees may go to any country they deem safe and fitting to their needs.
There is a asylum process, they purposely overwhelmed it, hoping that sheer numbers would overwhelm the border security. That in itself is mischievous and contrived - someone participating in such behavior may be lying about something else.
Don't you understand that many people plan to abuse our system and work the system - say 'this' and you'll get 'that' etc etc. People do that here, so yes people do that there. So, no you don't just fling the door open to everybody. Don't we know 'all' humans are capable of cunning behavior and lying. Isn't 'that' biblical?

"... Mexico is rife with drug violence as well"
Well isn't that a good reason to 'have' secure borders. Thats the point we don't want just anybody coming back and forth. Borders are for letting in the good and keeping out the bad! You have a door on your house, thats what it is there for. Two or three posters here said how violent and dangerous it was in Mexico, well thats 'why' we have to vet people. Whats to keep violent dangerous people from coming here - nothing - is that the answer??? Some people won't even allow authorities to deport known criminals from the US.

'No borders' then is leaving our door open to the same persons these people may be running away from!
Before you know it - we are the country with the same problems ... why is that hard to understand?

This is her father's fault. When did it get written into the US Constitution that we are now supposed to support the rest of the world. In the US we saw problems in our own country and fought two wars, the Revolution and Civil War, to resolve it; we didn't run away.

This is her father's fault...

This is no one's fault. I have no doubt Border Patrol and US officials did all the could do to help this little girl, and no doubt this father was on a journey to try to provide something better for his child. I would have to be pretty desperate to take my child on a 1000 mile trek for a better life. Maybe we should just pray for all concerned.

The government may do what it will, but as disciples of the Kingdom of God, we are given a different charge:

Leviticus 19:33-34
Hebrews 13:1-2

Removing responsibility for deicisions made is not rationale. Her father made the choice to take her, the end result being a reflection of that decision, so yes it's his fault.

He wasn't intentionally taking her to her death. His intent was to take her to a better life. Who knows his level of desperation? Who knows what I would have done in the same situation?

Lets also not forget she was dehydrated during the journey. And yet he was fine. Almost as if he was mainly giving himself water and food and not her. Somethings not right here.

Would you rather see your daughter die from being beaten to death, and/or wholly abused - or would you rather risk your life with your daughter to get to a country that used to take in immigrants - especially those who are fleeing from danger?

You must pick one.

As far as dad allegedly eating, and kiddo starving or not getting enough... The little girl is a child; she hasn't even developed immunities against dehydration and hypocaloric shock. Neither one of them may be eating, but dad has much more energy per volume to exhaust than the child.

C'mon, did everyone forget who destabilized these nations?

What would make You risk Your daughters life like that? Perhaps if some powerful person threathened to kill Your family and actually was hunting You in Your homecountry so You were not safe there anymore. It does happen. Not all flee because they are seeking luck, evil, greedy, illegal or plainly love America. Some might be passing through in the future. Some might be staying a while until the worst is over or until they find another place to live. I personnally would not dare to live in America because of so many reasons, of one has become that the richest person has more rights than the poor. That is not right. But the poor also give birth to babies that are to pay for the rich persons needs once he or she gets old, and the juridical system seems off. I do not think kids that do crimes should grow up in prison and live there for the rest of their lives. But maybe the whole structure of society need to become more responsible and authentic and not so either harch or overly friendly without real meaning behind it. But yes some Americans do great things and they can be awesome. Still for the people as a whole a lot more good could be done, just so You would feel better.

Should be noted that the girl died due to her Father taking her on the dangerous journey where she was deprived of food and water for six or so days. It was only when taken into custody she died 8 hours later.

From the Washington Post

"According to CBP records, the girl and her father were taken into custody about 10 p.m. Dec. 6 south of Lordsburg, N.M., as part of a group of 163 people who approached U.S. agents to turn themselves in.

More than eight hours later, the child began having seizures at 6:25 a.m., CBP records show. Emergency responders, who arrived soon after, measured her body temperature at 105.7 degrees, and according to a statement from CBP, she “reportedly had not eaten or consumed water for several days.”

It will have to be investigated and I'm not sure if anything could have been done to save the girl at the point of her being taken into custody. Would her drinking water have immediately eliminated those days of travel in the hot Mexican sun with no food and no water? I imagine it not being that simple and that at a certain point your body cannot easily recover.

In any case this was not severe neglect by the US, but by the Father.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...ory.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.a0c14efe34ab

A drip with isotonic or other fluids would have been a pretty standard thing to do, if there was any attempt to assess her health, which would seem like a pretty normal thing to do for a child arriving after a days long journey on foot. Modern medicine can do a lot in a 8ht window.

I'd risk staying in my country as the trip to the USA will likely result in me being sent back anyways and risk my kids life even more. Staying in your country is smaller odds of something happening.
