Here is another one that I just discovered showing that the Messiah is indeed YHWH of the Old Testament.
Hosea 12:3-6 In the womb he took his brother by the heel,
and in his manhood he strove with God. He strove with the angel & prevailed; he wept & sought His favor. HE MET GOD AT BETHEL & there God spoke with us— YHWH, the God of hosts,
YHWH is His memorial name. "So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love & justice & wait continually for your God.”
What happened when Jacob met God at Bethel?
Genesis 28:12,13 Jacob had a dream about a ladder that rested on the earth with its top reaching up to heaven, & God’s angels were going up & down the ladder.
And there at the top YHWH was standing & saying, “I am YHWH, the God of your father Abraham & the God of Isaac. Look, I am with you & I will watch over you wherever you go & I will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” When Jacob woke up, he thought, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was unaware of it.” And he was afraid & said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven!” ...And he called that place Bethel.
Genesis 35:3 Then let us arise and go to Bethel. I will build an altar there to the God who answered me in my day of distress. He has been with me wherever I have gone."
Genesis 48:3,4,15,16 Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz (Jacob renamed it Bethel) in the land of Canaan & there He blessed me
& told me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful & multiply you; I will make you a multitude of peoples & will give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession.’
He blessed Joseph, and said, "The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has redeemed me from all harm--may He bless these boys.
Now what did Jesus claim about Himself?
John 1:45-51
Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law, the One the prophets foretold—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Nathanael asked.
“Come and see,” said Philip. When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, He said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit.” "How do You know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
49“Rabbi,” Nathanael answered, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
50Jesus said to him, “Do you believe just because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.”
51Then He declared, “Truly, truly, I tell you, you will see heaven open & the angels of God ascending & descending on the Son of Man.”
