Donald Trump's disapproval rating hits all-time high
More Americans than ever dislike the job President Donald Trump is doing in the White House, a new poll indicated on Monday.

The latest survey from Gallup showed that Trump's disapproval rating had shot up to 60 percent. That's tied for his all-time high and the sharp 7 percentage point uptick from the week prior. Just before the midterm election, Trump's disapproval stood at 54 percent, according to Gallup.

While Trump's disapproval rate has risen, his approval rate has dropped. Only 38 percent of Americans approved of his job performance, according to the new poll from Gallup. That's a 5 percentage point drop from the week prior, and approaches his all-time low of 35 percen

The problem though is that Trump's approval ratings have never broken 50%. He's good for rallying his base, but it's not good if you want to reach across the aisle. The next Congress will determine if he compromises on anything, but if he can't generate more favorable ratings, then his odds of winning in 2020 are going to be slim (assuming his future opponent is not disliked more).

Let's just see what 2020 holds.
fine by me. :)

Who cares about his approval ratings really?
Well, I'm going to assume you must have some interest, otherwise why read the thread?

Either you like him or you dont.
...and apparently a lot more people don't then do.

Lol.. pffft they always go up and down.. and then in my searching.. on is like 47 yes.. then CNN says it under 40.. lol

I could care less. And the POLL does how many? Look what was said in 2016. Do it your self.. go out and ask people...I find if very hard to find any that are one..not happy with what Trump has done.. may not like SOME things happening NOW. And most polls can be just based on WHAT is happening now.. and then they paint that poll as PEOPLE ARE REALLY UNHAPPY WITH TRUMP... its a TRUTH yet NOT.. aka fake news.

(snip)Look what was said in 2016.
(snip)
the polls said several million more voters were going to vote for Sec Clinton then for President Trump. The polls were right, millions more Americans wanted someone other then President Trump to be President. So if you want to discuss if polling is right, 2016 showed it was, the problem wasn't in the polls being wrong, the problem was interpreting the polls.
tulc(will continue pointing this out as needed) ;)

Is your opinion based on the same facts and/or from the same experts as his odds of winning 2016?

You do understand you're using two week old data in your link as opposed to my link which is 3 days old, right?
tulc(just thought that should be pointed out) :)
I understand that any data can be made to justify any presuppositions, you do understand that right?

So you don't think anything happened in the last two weeks that would affect peoples opinion of him? Then why not just post something from those 2 time President Trump got almost 50% approval ratings? Jan. 29th 2017 and June 17th 2018 both times he got a 45% approval rating? Or the fact that he's only ever once gotten less then 50% disapproval (also Jan. 29th) ratings in his 2 years in office?

What exactly is the value of keeping a weekly account of Trumps popularity? The numbers are going to depend on what group you ask. The only numbers that will make any difference at all are the election returns in 2020 when Trump is reelected regardless of the best efforts of the media. Your popularity numbers are almost as useful as a drowning man knowing the exact depth of water in excess of 10 feet. So now you know what I think.

I suspect President Trump cares.

The numbers are going to depend on what group you ask.
uhmmm...yeah, you mean like how American citizens feel about the guy who's supposed to be working for them? Those sorts of groups?

The only numbers that will make any difference at all are the election returns in 2020 when Trump is reelected regardless of the best efforts of the media.
Or he's not. Either one of which is possible, right?

Your popularity numbers are almost as useful as a drowning man knowing the exact depth of water in excess of 10 feet.
okay..does that mean you see President Trump as being in over his head drowning in a job he has no skill for or any ability to do? If so, I can agree with you on that.

So now you know what I think.
good, I always like to know what people think about things. :)

Maybe you could increase your font too, along with the screaming capital letters.
hmmmm...shouldn't you complain to the people who created the headline, not me? But in the spirit of trying to help (I do understand how hard it is to find someway to defend President Trump in these trying times since he gives his base so little to work with that being offended by font size is sometimes almost the only thing that can be used) I made the headline less uppercase. You're very welcome.

You really, really despise this president, don't you?
I'm actually having more fun during this administration then under President Obama, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for out of control dumpster fires and quite frankly President Trumps administration is the biggest one I've ever seen.

...can someone pass me the marshmallows? :D

I agree! :hoho:

You complained about the font size in the headline. I changed it from all caps to regular size. That would seem to have covered what you complained about . I might point out your post was about letter size and now you're lamenting about a lack of substance? The irony in that is quite...obvious. :sorry:

as always.
Thank you, I like your posts also.

You are consistent. I will give you that.
Well, I don't like to brag but I do drink a lot of coffee and I try and avoid sugar, salt and butter, thank you for noticing.

I know the media is always trying to make him look bad, but I don't care.
I just like that Donald Trump is a real, down to earth American. When he gets up in the morning he puts on his pants one leg at a time. None of that diving off the bed whiletrying to aim both feet elitist nonsense, that's not Trump, he's just so down to earth.
And he means what he says. Finally! A president who means what he says. When he says:
"As horrible as it sounds, when they throw the large sacks of drugs over, and if you have people on the other side of the wall, you don't see them -- they hit you on the head with 60 pounds of stuff? It's over."
Well let me tell you, he really means it! It's O-V-A-H!
