The right view of sin, is that sin is always wrong, and never right, and that is the right view of sin...

Now, before some of you start saying "Yeah, that's it, get those sinners" Don't be to hasty lest you forget that I am talking about people who would say that's "sins" as well... For all, ALL are sinners, and there is not exception, unless you absolutely 100% perfect, your a sinner, (hence some of my frustration with that crowd who would say that or say otherwise)...

Now, is this truly always the case, that all sin is never right and always wrong...? I must explain that I don't like those distinctions for there is/are always "exceptions"... Like someone lying to Nazi's who are hiding Jews in their house in Nazi Germany during WWII... That might be an exception... However, many try to take that or stretch that way, way to far, in and trying to justify everyone's sins, including and especially in most cases, their own, and that should not be so...

I am taking about "everyone" here, no one is excluded, whether those who would know they sin and try to justify it, or those who would completely deny their sin, and try hard to remain ignorant of it, and judge or come down on others, ect, for both are sinners and are in sin either way...

In conclusion, I would say that most of the time, a great majority of the time, almost all sin(s) are always wrong and never right, and that is the right view of sin...

Now, what do we do (about it)...? That is the question...?

I think we must all of us, get on the same page first, that we are all sinners and start from there, hopefully, "together"...

But after that...? I am open to suggestions at that/this point...

Comments...?

God Bless!

What I am trying to point out, others have tried to point out, and is/was the true purpose of the law (for it's false purpose is very deceiving)...

But, what's next, what about after...? Is it hopeless, or not...?

Should all "be-weep their outcast state(s)" so to speak, or is there hope...?

Or how long should we mourn, and/or mourn this, and what comes afterward...?

God Bless!

You cannot have a true view of sin without also giving a true view of transgressions and iniquities as well.
Would you maybe care to explain what you mean maybe...?

Transgressions (trespasses) and iniquities (shortcomings) are sin as well, right...?

God Bless!

I think sin boils down to a motive of hatred. And even good works based on that are sin. Jesus said love fulfills righteousness, using love of others as our own self as an example. So hatred would be anything less than this.

Hatred, jealousies, envies, rivalries, ect, ect... Selfishness, self-centeredness, pride, ego, ect, ect... (The list goes on and on)...

Not all rooted in hatred, but hatred is a big problem...

But, "Love", yes, I do believe love is the answer... Selfless, non-self-serving, self-sacrificing love...

But, none of can really do that perfectly "all the time" either... No matter how hard we try...

God Bless!

Indeed they are related but they are NOT the same. That is why they are listed separately.

The words translated “sin” in both testaments are archery terms (as was “sin” in Elizabethan English) meaning to aim at a target but miss the bulls eye. (the “mark”) It means you were TRYING to obey but lacked the strength or resources to do so.

Transgression is easy. It simply means choosing to disobey. In sin, there was an intention to try to obey, but in transgression the intent was the opposite.

The word translated “iniquity” literally means to be bent or twisted; and it is almost always used in relation to generations. It means that the sins and transgressions from past generations have warped us to make a pre-disposition toward sin and transgression.

If you think about it, all evil comes from hatred, if love is righteousness.....

Maybe..., but hatred of who/what in different cases...?

Should we have and express a hatred of unrighteousness or injustice...?

If we do, or should, I think we are walking a very thin line, shaky, unstable ground, that could all to easily fall out from under us, if were not very careful...

God Bless!

Hatred is an attitude of the heart and shows up in anything we do. Pride has produced some of the best craftsmen the world has ever seen.

Sin should never be taken lightly and to tell you the truth it's been making me sick lately.

As I have stated often.

As I get older I sin less but,
my sin bothers me more.

The sanctification process up top the mountain can be a rough one at times, yet I am grateful for it.

It's still hardly ever right, and almost always wrong though...

What do we do about it...?

Are we supposed to just do the best we can, by ourselves, on our own, or what...?

And where is God in all of this...?

God Bless!

Paul says "walk in the Spirit" and censor the thoughts and imaginations of the flesh while they are temptations, that is, before they can take hold and produce sin.

I edited my post above... (added to it)...

Cause that's still "us" "doing", trying (hard) (in our own efforts) doing the best "we" can...? Us "performing"... Is it supposed to be like that/this...?

And, where is God in all of this...?

God Bless!

For me it's like flipping through channels on a TV. You change the channel every time a stray thought or imagination that doesn't square with Christ comes at you.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (2 Corinthians 10:5) (KJV 1900)

I always seem to want to "take them down", and fight them... Battle/argue/debate with them, put them in their place... Is that wrong...? Or just not wise, or very wise, or what...?

It's almost instinctual sometimes, hard to catch or stop or take hold of (captive) or change...?

God Bless!

I don't mess with impure thoughts or imaginations. But practice censoring them at the impulse stage even before they develop into words.

Mines not impure thoughts so much, (course we would have to define "impure") but I hear "voices" and feel like I am being attacked or bombarded sometimes, those I fight and argue and debate with (mainly when I am alone) (people would think I was crazy otherwise)... Mainly doing and trying everything and anything to try and "provoke" me, get any kind of "rise" out of me, that kind of thing...

God Bless!

I asked why they do this (to me)...? I recalled a Star Trek episode where Worf first meets some other Klingon's, and He asks them "Why are you or do you try to provoke me and/or make me angry...?" And they said "Just to see if it is still possible" (IOW's if your still a Klingon) then Worf said "It is"...

I would tell "them" that as well...

God Bless!

I would reject any of this at the impulse stage and be happy for doing it.
