In the following, I am linking some Catholic Sources. I am not a Catholic per say. I have never been baptized a Catholic or attended any mass in a Catholic church other than a funeral. Around fall 2013, I received a calling from God. I experienced God and cause and effect with the spiritual. I was of the mind that I didn't care and was teachable. I searched for answers, and went with what worked, or what God shepherded me to. I am linking an educational video about an hour long. To get the most out of this, someone will need to watch the videos.

The Knowledge of Good and Evil

What is the Knowledge of Good and Evil? Adam ate of the tree and became a living being. The knowledge has been out there. It isn't a secret. There are people who would not like you to know about it to hide the evil they do, and the problems they cause. The easiest way to explain the knowledge of Good and Evil towards understanding:

God is Good. God is Holy and Separate from Sin.

I am a man.

Article: The worst sinners who became saints

Saint Augustine wrote that Evil is the privatization of Good.

Who has been most working to privatize good around The West, and towards what goal? At a University, men are considered Oppressors in Political Correctness? That makes anyone else good? Even those who are in sin, and sow corruption as long as they are not a man? Especially a Christian man serving God?

Masculinity and Love and Judgement.

Video: "How to Raise a Man" Fr Ripperger.

In the video Fr Ripperger talks about Biblical Manhood, sin, what makes someone effeminate, and what feminism is and does in terms of the spiritual and sin. Why Fr. Ripperger? Videos come up in my Youtube Recommended Videos Section one day. An Exorcist is a Christian Mystic. Being a mystic means he is experiencing cause and effect with the spiritual. He is someone people should listen to? In "Conference on Exorcism" Fr Ripperger mentions "The Cause is to the effect." I experience cause and effect with the spiritual. I find Fr Ripperger right a lot or I would take his word for it based on my experiences to a very high degree.

Masculinity and Love

God is love. (1 John 4:8) God's Love is Fatherly. A man with a heart full of God's Fatherly and Patriarchal love would see others as his brothers and sisters in Christ. You would like Good things for your brothers and sisters? You would like them to succeed and be successful? You would like them to be happy and healthy? You would not like to see them in sin and degradation? Someone with a heart full of God's love may see things like this.

Someone is a leader. He is a leader of a country. He is a owner of a business. He is a Pastor. He is a Teacher. Given he has God's Fatherly Love in his heart, he may see those he is leading as his children to some degree. He would like them to succeed and do well.

In terms of Love, one way to look at it is, God is First and Last. God was man's first love as creator. He will be man's last love. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess. Christian societies value virgin brides. Is someone more of a Virgin Israel or a Harlot like Ezekiel 23 or Ezekiel 16?

In terms of Masculinity, and the video I posted, what is healthy anger and what is unhealthy anger? Someone that is quick to anger, someone that holds a grudge, someone that rages, has issues. He may need trials to help tune his Thumos. (Thumos and Holy Fire : FisherofMen) Thumos is Righteous Anger. It is the Anger a man feels when his family is threatened. It is the type of Anger that a man may feel when his honor is violated. God is a man of honor. God does not lie. A man works to tune his Thumos to the Character of God. He does this by accepting the Spirit of God, studying his Bible, Prayer, and going through trials to test his faith. (James 1:2-4)

God's love is sacrificial. (John 15:13) Love is a two way street. Have you bore your cross?

In terms of being a man, and being viewed as by other men, you may need to hit a threshold of trials or suffering. Other men read it on you, and leave you alone for the most part. In terms of being a Good Christian man, you need to have trials to test your faith. Many people believe in God. Faith is a knowledgeable dependence.

Man is made in the image of God. God is long suffering. For a man to learn to see things as God sees them he needs trials. I call these trials Acts of Fortitude, and Acts of Fortitude or an ongoing theme in Christianity. Holy Men in the Bible fasted 40 days. Catholics have Lent where they sacrifice something. Christians engaged or do engage in flagellation and wearing hair shirts. Various Holy Men in Christianity endured many trials. These trials may help someone become closer to God.

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

???????

Gen 2:7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

That was before Eve, before the serpent and before the fall.

  • So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. (1 Corinthians 15:45)

In Genesis 2:7, it is talking about being alive as in living. In Corinthians 15:45, it is talking about immorality. The wages of sin are death.

None of that ties the eating of the tree of knowledge to Adam becoming alive.

Given you read 1 Corinthians 15:45 in context, the context of the scripture talks about natural or physical body as opposed to a spiritual body. In 1 Corinthians 15:45, the first Adam became a living man, as in not immortal and of a natural body. The last Adam was a life giving spirit, or a quickening spirit. A quickening kind of like "The Highlander?" Through Jesus Christ and the Spirit of God, we may know eternal life.

He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive." (Luke 20:38)

The wages of sin are death. A dead man may have been like Rob Zombie. He sang a song called "Living Dead Girl." Given they bite someone, or tempt someone into sin, the wages of sin are death, and those people become dead as well? In the Valley of Dried Bones, Ezekiel 37, you have dead people God makes alive. He is not God of the dead, but God of the living.

Question: This idea of Thumos is new to me. Can you explain more how it works beyond the article you linked?

Young man grew up Christian and was raised right. He goes to a Public University. He ends up in a Co-ed dorm room. In the Co-Ed dorm room, he hears a lot about the sin that is going on. How does he feel about it? Given he feels he is missing out on something, jealousy, or something like that, even if he doesn't act out on it, that may be his ego. His peers are getting something. Why can't he get it to? It may hurt his ego, and how he perceives himself around females. It may hurt his perception of reality. Given he doesn't act out on it, given he doesn't search out God in the right way, that ego or perception change may stay with him for many years.

Man lets go of his ego. He doesn't care. He turns to God. To have this, he may need time away from his family. He may need time away from college. He may have needed time to himself seeking God with his heart and soul. He lets go of his ego. He receives a larger portion of the Holy Spirit. He feels God's righteous anger. Sin angers God.

Chastising and rebuking someone's peers for their sins, may be tough. They may hate him. They may mock him. Someone who has grown in Faith has no doubt or fear. To be a stone means someone is hard. Unmovable in matters of faith and God.

The “Fruit of the knowledge of good and evil” gave us a “moral compass” that is independent of God’s will.

That’s why it set us against God’s will and chained us to Sin..... We now have a our own sense of morality and ethics that operates outside of God’s will.

A perfect example of this independent moral compass at work is that many Christians are completely aghast at the Old Testament accounts where God called for holy war and the complete elimination of some group of people. It somehow offends our sense of morality that God would do this - yet we know it was aligned with His will, His purposes - and ultimately His morals/ethics to do so.

Thanks

Another aspect of the Knowledge of Good and Evil:

For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:5)

Given someone talks or converses with an Atheist, why is he an Atheist? Given he is an atheist because he wants to be his own god, that is a form of paganism. That is like Pharaoh declaring himself a man-god? That is like Xerxes in "300?" That is like a Cult of the Emperor in Rome? In pagan Greece every man was a god and ever woman a goddess? There are enduring spiritual themes that various people have played into. They haven't just gone away, but have been painted differently. Satan is a liar with a paintbrush.

In the OP, I stated:

God is Good. God is Holy and Separate from sin.

I am a Man.

There is something ancient about that. I discovered it through the Spirit of God after talking to a possessed man at a bar. The Post Modern World has been built on Pagan Philosophy. I was banned from /r/metaphysics and /r/askphilosophy, after posting there for the first time, for working to talk or explain God in context with the Bible, and asking where the line was drawn in metaphysics about talking about God Almighty, God of the Bible. I was banned from /r/askphilosophy for asking a question. They are guilty of something?

In the 1970's a Neo-Pagan movement started out of the Counter Culture and the spiritualism people were rejecting God Almighty, God of the Bible for. Out of that came Philosophy of Religion which is a pagan discipline where people believe they may be able to stand in judgement of God and Christianity. That seems to be the guiding philosophy of much of academia. Who is evil?

Given someone would like to see an example of how that type of conversation played out: Faith and Reason : PhilosophyofReligion

Question: Can physical training be an Act of Fortitude?

Yes.

What someone may be looking for is more of a military style workout. It is something that builds mental toughness and muscle endurance.

I played college football. The workouts I did playing college football were the hardest I have ever had. I would rather do those than some of the workouts I did in the US Army. Why? College football you go in, and get it done in an hour, hour and a half. In the US Army you may be hating life, and wondering why you are there. It is not a joke. To get that type of physical training someone may have had to be in the military, or found some sort of trainer who can recreate that. Someone would need to be really motivated. It is not your mom's aerobics class or whatever civilian type of thing some people believed was hard. We are talking going to muscle failure and beyond in a way that civilians may whine about and call abuse. Someone may need to really know their body working for God in a big way.

Note that this is for a young man or men growing in faith seeking more of God. Once someone is there things may be different.

Question: Why is it important to know your body?

Your body is a temple. The Spirit of God dwells in a man. Part of talking to God is intuitive. How hard and far can a man go? He may need to be aware of his reasonable limitations. That is part of Thumos. God controls everything. At a certain level of growing in Faith, God may talk to a man based on various sensations he has in his body.
