Gunned-up RWNJs are already waging civil war all over the country. I don't understand what the question is in this thread.

It looks like there is division in the US. Some violence also.

Could anything be done to stop it?

It's institutionalized. First big step was scientific Gerrymandering, that made it possible for a political minority to rule. And that meant both democrats and republicans had safe districts that always went a particular way. And yes, in a few states, democrats did it, too.

And that made moderates an endangered species as crazier and crazier extremists got elected. And that's where the polarization came in.

Require that all districts be formed by a non-partisan commission, and the problem will start to solve itself.

So the problem probably won't be solved.

You might be selling America short. I remember the McCarthy days. It was, in some ways, worse than this; seemed like we were going down the road to fascism.

And then people got disgusted and started speaking out. And we became America, again.

That seems to depend on cleaning up both parties, I think you said. Tall order.

Not sure why anyone would think the US would get right in the heart with God in any big way these days. Some people...yes. The nation as a whole? No.

I hope you're wrong. I fear you aren't.

A day where women who are sexually assaulted are taken seriously would be a good start.
Who said they are not taken seriously when they actually bring it up at the time that it occurred and not decades later.
