According to his son, Frank, Arno C. Gaebelein was really the man who wrote the notes found in the Scofield Reference Bible.
He is listed as one of the editors, and was the author of numerous books.

Frank said when he was a child Scofield would come for a visit and went to a movie, while his father banged away on the typewriter.

Actually, they pretty much agree with the end time scenario presented in the very oldest Christian commentary on Bible prophecy (of any significant length) which has survived to the present day, which is the last twelve chapters of the very famous five volume work by Irenaeus which was titled "Against Heresies." This is thought to have been published between the years 186 and 188 A. D.

The early Christian comments on Bible prophecy contain what seems to us a gross contradiction. They contained the central elements of both Dispensationalism and Covenant Theology. This evidently made sense to them, and did not seem to them to be a contradiction, because none of the modern systems of interpretation was formalized until well over a thousand years later.

Where did Irenaeus later contradict what he said in my citation?

Insofar as the citation appears very close to the very end of his Against Heresies, it in all probability represents his decisive final convictions on those matters.

If you believe he could be so glaringly wrong about his own Covenant Theology, How is it you can trust Him on anything?

He also claimed Jesus lived to be 50 years old....

Is it the idea that "even a broken clock is right twice per day"?

Maybe your followup book can be "Ancient Covenental Truth" and you can trace His Covenental leanings in great length for your readers... you know, in the interest of presenting to the public His views as a whole, instead of cherry-picking those which suit your Bias.
