Galatians 2:18 Rather, I am a sinner if I rebuild the old system of law I already tore down.

1 Corinthians 8:7 However, not all believers know this. Some are accustomed to thinking of idols as being real, so when they eat food that has been offered to idols, they think of it as the worship of real gods, and their weak consciences are violated.

Revelation 2:20 But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman--that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet--to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols.

Jude 1:4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God's marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Matthew 23:15 What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are!

Romans 7:17 In that case, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

Revelation 12:15 Then from the mouth of the serpent spewed water like a river to overtake the woman and sweep her away in the torrent. 16But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth to swallow up the river that had poured from the dragon’s mouth.

Is Revelation 12:15 a hidden scroll? Specifically the Dead Sea Scrolls?

Philemon 1:19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it. And I won't mention that you owe me your very soul.

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go onto the road of the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel

Romans 15:14 because of the grace God gave me 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles

Galatians 5:12 I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!

Why is Peter given the keys when salvation comes through Paul?

Matthew 16:19 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Romans 8:3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

1 John 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

The Apostle Paul has this flesh concept where its impossible not to sin and its very confusing when lining up with scripture

Matthew 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.

Deuteronomy 18:13
You must be blameless before the LORD your God.

1 John 3:7 Little children,b let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. 8The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start.

In this verse its saying you have a choice to sin, destroying this flesh concept

Romans 2:16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

Paul's idea of salvation is God does everything and you do nothing, where is this in anywhere of scripture even hinting to this, if this is revelation (the making known of something that was previously secret or unknown.) then it would be found in the scriptures, when James says the clear and exact opposite.

James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

It looks like you must save yourself

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God

Mark 1:15 “The time is fulfilled, He said, “and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel!”

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

John 6:44 For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up.

2 Corinthians 10:5 We tear down arguments, and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Paul is teaching another religion, he's the only prophet to make this idea of a warfare when the other Apostles teach you should resist the devil and he will simply flee, and James teaches that you are battling your own desires, not Satan

Hi, what good questions :)

I am sorry but it is after midnight now and I'm going to sleep. Will be interested to read the rplies you get tomorrow and hopefully chime in too if there is a reason. (Paul makes sense to me, mostly)

Welcome to CF :)

16But be careful that you are not enticed to turn aside to worship and bow down to other gods, 17or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will soon perish from the good land the LORD is giving

2 Corinthians 10:5 We tear down arguments, and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Paul is teaching another religion

That's a tall order. A few of them.

Galatians 2:18 is Paul's way of telling the Galatians not to return to the Jewish law for their salvation. He says here and there that the law is impossible to keep in its entirety, so returning to it is futile.

1 Cor 8:7 Paul says in different places that it is okay to eat meat sacrificed to an idol, and also that it is not. The circumstances are very different. The ancient Mithraists would kill a bull as part of their religious rituals in honor of Mithra, and for the most part eat it. The leftover meat they would sell in the market. Christians questioned whether it was "safe" to eat meat from the market not knowing whether it had been sacrificed to an idol. Paul told them that idols are meaningless and that they were free to buy whatever they wanted.

In another circumstance, no one should eat the same meat in front of someone who was new to the faith because they might get confused about it.

Rev 2:20 is a warning to one of the churches about a woman who was convincing them to participate in pagan religious practices.

Jude 1:4 is a warning against what would eventually be known as antinomianism. It was the teaching of some at the time, and you still find the idea alive today, that since Christianity abolished the rituals of righteousness of the Jewish law that the entire law is abolished, and Christians are free to engage in whatever immorality they choose. Just so you know, it isn't true.

We'll have a look at the rest later.

When does the law not bring salvation?
Deuteronomy 11:27 You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today.

I've never seen a verse that condemns the law other than in Paul's writings

Jer 31:31 - Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

It is the Christian faith that we are under the new covenant. While the law is still useful to understand what sin is, we believe that the laws of ritual purity, etc., no longer apply. We do not keep the dietary laws, nor the sacrificial laws.

And we have the two great commands inscribed on our hearts:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself.

Those are the greatest commandments, correct? You still have to obey the rest

Some interesting verses but way too many to deal with. How about one or two verses to start with.

See Acts 15.

Who said to preach to the gentiles?

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go onto the road of the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.

Prior to the crucifixion the apostles only preached to the Jews.

Genesis 49:27 "Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, devouring his enemies in the morning and dividing his plunder in the evening."

Philippians 3:4 though I myself could have such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has grounds for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee;

Arent the Pharisees the ones trying to find loopholes in the law?

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

2 Peter 2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

And the passage that Peter supports Paul in 2 Peter 3:15 could be easily removed without notice
