This is going to be about Luke and Revelation and perhaps from the OT. [particular Luke 19 and 21] in relation to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70ad.There appears to be a controversy concerning the Olivet Discourse with the Gospel of Luke 21 showing the destruction of 1st century Jerusalem and Matt/Mar showing a future destruction of Jerusalem.
Luke 21:5 is dererving of particualar attention.
Luke 21:5 uses 3 words that are also used in Revelation:
Both use a form of "anathema", "adorn" and "goodly/precious stones":
Luke 21 and Revelation both use the form of the greek word for "anathema"
334. anathema from 394 (like 331, but in a good sense);
a votive offering:--gift.
303. ana an-ah' a primary preposition and adverb; properly, up; but (by extension) used (distributively) severally, or (locally) at (etc.)
331. anathema an-ath'-em-ah from 394; a (religious) ban or (concretely) excommunicated (thing or person):--accused, anathema, curse, X great.
Luke 21:5
And certain-ones saying about the Temple,
that to goodly stones and to devoted-things/anaqhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).
2652. katanathema kat-an-ath'-em-ah from 2596 (intensive) and 331;
an imprecation:--curse.
2596. kata kat-ah' a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined):
331. anathema an-ath'-em-ah from 394; a (religious) ban or (concretely) excommunicated (thing or person):--accused, anathema, curse, X great.
Revelation 22:3
and every anathema/cursed-thing/kat-ana-qema> <2652> not shall be still.
And the throne of the God and of the Lamb-kin in Her shall be,
and His bond-servants shall be offering divine-service to Him.
#2885 is used in both Luke 21 and Revelation 21 [which is a derivative of the root word #2889 used for "world"]
2885. kosmeo kos-meh'-o from 2889;
to put in proper order, i.e. decorate (literally or figuratively); specially, to snuff (a wick):--adorn, garnish, trim.
Luke 21:5
And certain-ones saying about the Temple, that to goodly stones and to devoted-things/ana-qhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).
Revelation 21:2
And I John, saw the holy City, the New Jerusalem descending from the God out of the Heaven
having been made ready as a bride having been adorned/kekosmhmenhn <2885> (5772) to the man/husband of Her.
And goodly/precious stones:
2570. kalos kal-os' of uncertain affinity;
properly, beautiful, but chiefly (figuratively) good (literally or morally), i.e. valuable or virtuous (for appearance or use, and thus distinguished from 18, which is properly intrinsic):
Luke 21:5
And certain-ones saying about the Temple, that to goodly<2570> stones<3037> and to devoted-things/ana-qhmasin <334> it has been adorned/kekosmhtai <2885> (5769).
5093. timios tim'-ee-os, including the comparative timioteros tim-ee-o'-ter-os, and the superlative timiotatos tim-ee-o'-tat-os from 5092;
valuable, i.e. (objectively) costly, or (subjectively) honored
Revelation 21:19
And the foundations of the wall of the City were adorned<2885> all manner of precious<5093> stones<3037>.
The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
