Nice, it's always interesting seeing one of the "I can't address the actual OP so I'll post a meme about someone/anyone else instead" posts. :D

I love that fact that democrats, who likely drink too

I'm lit up like jack o lantern right now.

suddenly find drinking to be a bad thing for anyone in a high position.

I certainly didn't say that. What I did say was that his sworn testimony about his drinking strains my credulity. To boil that down to one syllable words: Judge man said things I don't think are true. I don't care that he drinks.

Have you seen young adults on their breaks from college? They go get hammered at the beaches, have sex and do all kinds of terrible things.

Yes, but Judge Bart say he not do things like that. But young Bart say he does do things like that! Which Bart say true things?!?!?

People change. Alot of young people do stupid things like drinking or doing drugs or having lots of sexual flings. If they can show evidence that he still drinks until he pukes and acts like a idiot all the time when drunk then maybe it would sway me. But for now its just people saying hes bad based on things he did 30 years ago.

Look at James Gunn. 10 year old tweets got him fired despite the fact he has changed. Such a weird world where we no longer believe people can change and just make them guilty because of something they did long ago. Especially at a stage in their life where doing stupid things is common.

It's telling that all you can do is attack a strawman.
As soon as people bring up fallacies I ignore them. It's just another way to make someone look bad that you don't agree with. Its just an adult version of school yard name calling. Kind of like when all else fails insult someones grammar or spelling.

...the thing is? He denies doing them when his friends say he did. So either he's not being truthful or all his friends really don't like him. :sorry:

uhmmm...no, you can believe that all you like but since logical fallacies are real things and people do fall in to them you might (instead of just pretending they're name calling) look to see if maybe you've actually committed it.

Its just an adult version of school yard name calling. (snip)
Or it's someone pointing out something that you could learn about to make your ability to communicate your thoughts and beliefs better?

It would be interesting to get official word from the CF staff as to whether Kavanaugh's definitions for these various terms are acceptable on site for future use...or am I just boofing in a windstorm?

Its a little humor, but I understand. Its like how the appointment to the supreme court has become about "beach week" and someone's high school year book instead of a life long career in the law, as a father and good member of the community. Or Bill Clintons fans developing a "sudden interest" in sexual assault.

Jesus would perform a miracle, but his haters would point out that he didn't wash his hands before dinner.

You've completely missed the point - it isn't that he drank and still enjoys a beer or two, it's that he lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee about the extent of his drinking and about what certain acronyms meant. These lies were casual and unnecessary - therefore, likely to be habitual and without a second thought. The lies were all to put himself in a better light.

Is this casual dishonesty what we want in a Supreme Court Justice?

I'm not a religious teetotaler myself but if somebody misrepresents their drinking habits, that is dishonest. It also might be a sign of unacknowledged alcoholism.

I listened to his testimony before the inquisition wherein they were trying to trash Kavanagh, provoke an outburst, paint him as a drunk who blacks out and rapes people. He talked about liking beer, drinking lots of beer, sometimes too much.

* Never once did they ask Dr Ford about her "ONE BEER" ....but I don't remember where I came from, where I was, how I got home or what year it was.

An honest person knows what this is about, unable to find fault with his professional career, they are trying to personally, publically trash him like they did Justice Clarence Thomas.

Dr Ford is a disturbed person who has been discredited by her own witnesses and the lies and misrepresentations in her testimony.

I'm just impressed how far we've come in a few days. Last week I was hearing lots of "there's nothing to investigate". Now we're to the point about having to to bring up Obama and Clinton to distract from the things the investigation has uncovered. Talk about quick progress.

Before Kavanaugh? D+10 generic ballot.
After Kavanaugh? D+2 generic ballot that has put the U.S. House back in Republican hands.

You've come a long ways in one week!

After hearing "Antifa made neoNazis run people over and shoot at them" minor things like this don't even phase me any more. Some people are just beyond help - at least with the current state of our mental health infrastructure.

That because some people here(such as I) think that Antifa isn't innocent, and that their their actions need to be accountable.

Bad people on both sides.

Its a little humor,
okay...

but I understand.
I'm not sure you do, but again, okay.

well it's kind of hard to look at his "life long career in the law" when no one seems able to produce about 90% of his records. as for him being "as a father and good member of the community" I thought people weren't supposed to care about that sort of thing?

Or Bill Clintons fans developing a "sudden interest" in sexual assault.
Not being a fan of Bill Clinton (never voted for him even once) I don't have to worry about that. But I see you can't seem to "defend" Judge Kavanaugh without bringing up someone else in a thread not about that person. :sorry:

Jesus would perform a miracle, but his haters would point out that he didn't wash his hands before dinner.
You mean like when someone is in a discussion about one thing and then someone tries to bring up something/someone who's not part of the discussion? Yeah, I can see how that might be annoying. ;)

While I don't care for the guy one way or another I can't wait for him to be voted in so I can enjoy the salt coming from the left. It really makes them look terrible. After Trumps win (again, don't care about him either way too) the left showed a dark disturbing side of what happens when they lose.

And then they get old and lie about them to Congress while under oath.
Kinda of how like when he asked the one woman if she liked beer she changed topic. None of them would admit they do because it would make them look like hypocrites.

You would jeopardize the integrity of the Supreme Court just to upset the liberals?

More shocking, you seem to think this is taking the high ground.

Petty vindictiveness and tit-for-tat politics isn't getting our country anywhere. It certainly isn't making us great again. Domestically and socially, the US is going headlong into it's worse period since the Civil War. I don't see things getting any better regardless of who wins what election. This problem of partisan division won't just go away.

It really makes them look terrible.
The right doesn't look too much better from where I'm standing.

After Trumps win (again, don't care about him either way too) the left showed a dark disturbing side of what happens when they lose.
And the right has shown an equally dark and disturbing side since winning. They've all but abandoned any sense of decency, morality and standards in elected officials they once held and it shows with the breakdown of our social fabric.
