Is the Sabbath Commandment proof that the TCs are not for Christians?

I have a theory that the very presence of the Sabbath commandment in the Ten informs us that the Ten Commandments are not for Christians.

Is the presence of the Sabbath Commandment
proof that the TCs are not for Christians?

The Bible tells us that the Sabbath is a sign between God and the Israelites alone.
That being the case, how could a set of commandments carrying
the Sabbath commandment be for anyone else?

Exodus 31:13
Say to the Israelites, ‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.

Ezekiel 20:12, 20
Also I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy. 20 Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.”

The Ten Commandments are for Christians, the Sabbath is not.
Thanks for your reply.
How could the TCs be for us if the Sabbath is not?

Jesus Himself told us to keep the Commandments. Why would they not be for us, just because we are to observe some of them in a less legalistic way?
Thanks for your reply.
Where did Jesus tell us to keep THE Commandments?
Some of them? (pick the ones you like and ignore the rest?)
What do you mean by "a less legalistic way?" ??

Read and study out Acts 15.

Your statement tells me you are starting off with the mentality that the Sabbath itself is not for Christians.
.
It is dangerous to start with pre-conceptions and to judge scripture based on that.

Thanks.
How would that help?
Didn't the Jerusalem Council set us free from the law? (including the TCs)
Read it again, and specifically to whom the decision was addressed.

Also give note to James' statement about Moses being read.

Then take a look at Acts 21, several years later where Paul and James re-visit and clarify the Acts 15 decision.

Listen to you.

The Bible says that the Sabbath is a sign between God and the Israelites alone.
Perhaps the preconception is to assume the Jewish Sabbath is for Christians.

None of those passages say anything specifically about the Ten Commandments.

If you've ever heard of the " Noahide" or "Noachide" movement , it is, or was, something of a Jewish outreach to gentiles to join them in worshipping God, though without needing to convert to Judaism.

The Noahides, "sons of Noah", are required to keep only seven universal laws. Sabbath keeping is not one of them for the reasons you've stated.

I've always found it odd that if you agreed to keep those seven laws it made you a Noahide. Generally, if you keep those seven laws and accept Christ it makes you a Christian.

"And the law shall go forth from Zion", the bible.

Disagree with your theory ... being that the 7th Day Sabbath was created by God before there were Jews, Christians or any other "religious group" it was created for man (mankind). It's part of creation ... the 7th Day Sabbath is for all mankind. In the 10 Commandments it says "remember" .... remember what I created ... not something new for just the jews.

Genesis 2
2 And on the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work -. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.…

Mark 2:27-28
Then he said to them, "The Sabbath (7th day Sabbath) was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

28Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”…

Do you have proof of any human observing the Sabbath before Exodus chapter sixteen?

Jesus told us to love God above all and to love our neighbor as ourself. He said in doing thos we would keep the commandments. I note He said nothong of Saturday. The Sabbath was made for man and not visa versa. It was for rest. Some time later man made it for worship. Do you really rest in worship? I know I don't.
We (the Church) have been acused of changing the day of rest. Have we really? If so isn't it ours to change? I agree we changed the day of worship. But that was not a commamd. It is just the day we have chosen to gather.

As the sabbath merely means Saturday I am sure they knew what day it was. Did they know to keep it holy? I'll ask then in the afterlife.
Now what does it mean to keep it holy?

Do you have any proof that any human didn't observe the Sabbath before Exodus chapter sixteen?

To sanctify is to literally "set apart for particular use in a special purpose or work and to make holy or sacred."

set apart from what? from all other days - the 7th day Sabbath is the Lord's day - He created it and He is Lord over it. Again "remember the Sabbath" .... it was/is a reminder .. by who ... by God

We still acknowledge the Sabbath without actually keeping it, because Christ laid it to rest along with all the works of the Mosaic law.

Every day belongs to the Lord. The Sabbath was not created for God but for man. God lnew we (not God) needed a day for rest from our work. I know the SDAs wosh to make this about the day we worship.but that was not the reason God made it. He made it for our rest. Worship is not rest. Unless you attend a dead Church.
