Why must race be an integral part of news stories?

Listen I can tell you if the white man is supposed to be experiencing a greater benefit from society then I personally would not have been dirt poor my whole life, Neither would my dad have been poor his whole adult life if there were certain privileges we were getting that other people were not. It wasn't from lack of trying either, my dad did the work of two men every day and still we only made ten grand(twelve if we were lucky) every year. So honestly and with all sincerity I implore you to stop buying into the false narrative that somehow being white grants you more rights or privilege. Maybe it did fifty sixty years ago, but not today.
Listen I can tell straight away that you fundamentally don't understand the concept of White privilege. It's not saying that every White person will be rich or powerful... Here you go https://www.tolerance.org/professional-development/on-racism-and-white-privilege
White privilege is the reason why some people get called White trash and others are just trash. There's no such thing as Black trash, Hispanic trash, Asian trash, they're just trash. That distinction of Whiteness before the word is there for a reason. It's very common to have the reaction you're having, it's called white guilt/white fragility. It's not a narrative. It's reality...This is why I mentioned the Sociology of Race class. There were policies put in place 50-60+ years ago, etc. that benefited certain groups to the detriment of other. These are facts. Historical rulings, laws, etc that benefit certain groups of people. If you don't believe me, you can look them up. Laws and policies concerning virtually every aspect of life. This is not an argument, it's not a fight, it's not a discussion, it's not a debate. You can live in your 'bubble' but it's not God's will. Colorblindness, the thing that you seem to be hanging onto for dear life, is just as bad as blatant racism. Biological race is not an issue, difference isn't the issue, it is the negative societal implications of these biological characteristics that is the issue. You can live in your 'bubble' for all you want. There are groups of people who have privileges granted to them as a result of race, gender, socioeconomic status, the list goes on. There is able-bodied privilege (which I have), etc. I'm not saying it's a bad thing or it's anyone's fault, because it's not. All I'm saying is it exists. God created us to honor the differences between us, choosing to blatantly ignore our individual privileges isn't honoring those differences. I have so many privileges. I'm able-bodied, I live in a first-world country, etc. I acknowledge that. Some people don't have the privileges I do. It's a fact. That's it. And I actively am working to ensure that I can at least help those that may not have opportunities that I had.

Advising me to judge based on color of skin as you advised me in

this goes along with your advise that I go to a class devoted to seeing race and white privilege as you put it. I judge by the word of God alone I have no need to Go to a class to teach me how to view things in a worldly way. The bible teaches me how to judge by the spirit, and that is the only way we are supposed to see/examine things in this life.
I never advised you to judge based on the color of skin. I said I think you should go to a Sociology of Race class. Judge isn't the right word. I asked you to acknowledge the societal implications of race. You actually haven't ever been in a sociology of race course, so how would you know what they are devoted to? They aren't devoted to seeing race. They are devoted to exploring the different experiences individuals all across the globe have, based on the societal implications of their (socially constructed) races. Have you heard of colorism? Or the one-drop rule? Whiteness is so ingrained in American society that subgroups such as African-Americans actually have a distinction between light-skinned and dark-skinned members. It's not about wordly vs. Godly. I see that you keep sharply contrasting worldliness and godliness, which is yet another strawman. It's completely out of scope of this conversation, and is just an attempt to divert attention away from your faulty premise. Acknowledging the fact that, in America (and other countries) society has put in place policies that benefit certain groups to the detriment of others, has nothing to do with judging by the spirit. Absolutely nothing. I bet you are one of the people that say, "I don't see race." I don't see race actually means, I don't acknowledge the fact that individuals in America have different experiences that are influenced by their race (among other factors). It's not about judging, like I said. Skin color is something you see, race is something you acknowledge.

I judge by the Law of Christ alone, you can concern yourself with the Laws of the Past and all the things of this world. Black, White, Brown, or Yellow we are all Children of God. And if we are oppressed we should rejoice as I have and continue to do when the Government or so called ministers, or just regular ungodly men persecute me for my faith. If a man has food and raiment then he should be content. Anything more is just extra.

Also those biological privileges you speak of(good health, skin color, Etc.) they are given to use by the Lord and are gifts. Gifts that can be taken away as fast as your life can be, if you are made to suffer or have an infirmity the Lord can heal it, if you were born into oppression trust the Lord and he will free you, Hating men and caring only about skin color and the Laws of this world do not profit you spiritually.

My answer remains the same. Nothing good comes from violence, and race is only a issue if you as an individual make it out to be one.
I agree to the first part. Nothing good comes from violence. No one said race is an issue. The societal implications of one's race are the issue. Racial injustice is the issue. Trust me, it wasn't Black people referring to White people as 3/5ths of a man, or denying them the right to vote (among other things). If there's anyone to blame, it's... ;););)

1. Sister, every single person in this world has a different set of life experiences and I have no problem with learning about them in fact I study that on my own without the need of a class. Because I care about the suffering of others. But as soon as things like white guilt and and white privilege and colorblindness start pointing the finger at me falsely then I want no part of it. Whites have been enslaved throughout history and in less devolved parts of the world like Africa they are the ones who experience discrimination for being white. But the difference is if I lived there and I was discriminated against I wouldn't start teaching a class on how society hates me, I would praise the lord.

2. Again sister I Judge the word of God alone, not by the Color of a man's skin. Race if your referring to the human race then I see humans and animals as different yes. If you were referring again to skin color/blood lines then there are three lines described in the bible Ham, Shem, and Japheth and yes I can see the distinction between those three.

No they just enslaved them for a few hundred years before hand(and to a lesser degree during the 16th/seventh century) as the moors/Carthaginians/ and many/all other African nations practiced slavery and kept slaves of all colors. Americans didn't invent slavery, neither did the white man.

Hahaha, I tried with you, I really did. But your strawman is so tiring. o_O Forget about the Sociology of Race class, you should go to a Logic class. Your premise is faulty and full of holes. You still diametrically oppose acknowledging societal implications of race with godliness. I don't concern myself with Laws of the Past. Not once have I not said we are not all Children of God. You keep hiding behind this pretense of godliness being opposed to race, it's so tiring. Try something new. No one is talking about religious persecution here, so again a strawman argument that is completely out of scope has been employed. And then you conclude with a bible verse...Classic. :D
Hold on, hold on. Health is a biological privilege, skin color is not a biological privilege, it's a societal privilege in America. Let's not throw eugenics into this. God actually did not command American society to oppress and reward members based on race. Let's be honest, modern American society is really not operating in a godly way, I think we can both agree on that. Again, this is not about God's ability to heal and liberate (He who the Son sets free is...FREE INDEED), the quasi-religious strawmans are just boring at this point. I don't hate anyone (never will), and I never implied that. I never said I care only about skin color (another strawman-- think we're up to 4 now? Make that 5) and I definitely do not follow the Laws of this world. I serve God and God alone. Amen. :D:D:D

Hahaha another strawman! We're talking about modern American society, don't try to give me a history lesson now. What did I say? God did not command Whites in America to enslave Blacks. It was morally wrong. I actually don't see this as something that can just be brushed of. I don't have that sort of luxury. Oh they didn't invent it so it was okay that they engaged in it. LOL. It's like, I didn't invent murder so it's okay that I did it. Tip: Drop this slavery thing. It's another strawman. Tip: Construct a new argument.

1) Brother, White guilt is real. You are displaying a prime example, "Start pointing the finger at me falsely then I want no part of it." No one is pointing the finger at you, not one person. But as always, members of certain groups of people have issues discussing topics like this, always get defensive. There is nothing to defend, nothing to protect, nothing to hide, and nothing to prove. But seriously, no one is pointing the finger at you, you and I are having an honest discussion. That's it. No one is pointing fingers. Just like reading a book, one person talks, then the other person talks, that's it. Simple. No one is talking about Whites being enslaved, brother. Stay on the topic. Whites experience discrimination in Africa? Now you've got me interested...show me where, brother. I really want to know. :D I have never implied society hates minorities. I think you should be mindful of your words, first using the word judge, now 'hate'. Hate is a strong word, brother. Sociology of Race does not talk about society hating minorities. Of course, in a country like America, there are members of all races that hate others because of their race. (that is diametrically opposed to God's will and way) If you were a math teacher and all you did was praise the Lord, you'd be fired. Trust me. Teachers teach. Preachers preach. If you were a sociology teacher, you'd teach sociology.

2) Hahahahahahaha....oh gosh. So you're telling me that when you walk down the street, you see no difference in people's skin color? I don't buy it.

Living in that bubble must be nice. :D Really nice.

2. All the governments of this world are evil and we are commanded to have no part in them. All we can do is preach the Gospel to them and Help those in need. Honestly sister I can't get why your trying argue. I love all the Children of God no matter who they descended from. Every society on this earth is oppressive, every government, and every creed of worldly people. If a man is oppressed and I can help him with food or drink I will, but changing a governments laws are not what the people of the Lord are called to do. I only bring up the laws in reference to the Laws you keep citing that are keeping the black man down in your opinion.
3. I love you sister, but there is not going to be any profit from this discussion as you are very set on getting me to say i'm Guilty of white privileges that I never saw of dime of.

2. No God did not. I thank you for point that out.
3. I never said it was okay they did, just making it clear to you they were not the only ones. Something you seem to be brushing off. Because again during the same time period there were black slavers in black run countries enslaving people Legally.
4. I rather like this strawman. Hint:I actually built him out of bricks.

Like I said, White privilege is not something people are guilty of. It's not something that people should apologize for. It is something that exists. Like air, for example. We can't see it, but it's there. I was actually just seeing where this conversation would go, I had no intention or objective. When you mentioned the 3 bloodlines, I knew myself it wasn't going anywhere. As long as you're happy, I'm happy for you. :D

No, we both can. If we have logical arguments and solid premises. You used it as a strawman, something to divert attention from the fact that you have lack a solid premise to your argument. 3) OK. 4) "A straw man argument is a rhetoric technique where someone distorts their opponent's argument, in order to make it easier to attack" It's a type of logical fallacy. ("A fallacy is an argument or belief based on erroneous reasoning") :D And it's a wrap. Tune in at 9pm Eastern Standard Time every Tuesday night for more juicy CF debates (Just kidding)

Sister, I'm not guilty nor do I feel guilty as I have not oppressed anyone my whole life much the opposite is true.

2. Sister, I'm only trying(and failing) to reason with you.

3. So if a sociologist teaches sociology and a preacher preachers, what does a racism class teach? Racism? I am a Preacher so I judge by the Lord alone and only mind the things of the spirit.

4. I don't judge by skin color I judge by the word of God. The Lord says not to judge on skin color but by their fruits, so a black man and a white man are equal in my eyes at a base level. Then I judge them by what they do what they preach by the word of God alone to see if they are of God or of Satan. Those are the only two ways a person can be that matters. Saved or damned.

5. I wouldn't know, but if I ever experience a life that has no greater worry than that of race and how society views it, I will definitely know where you are coming from.

4. Sister, so if anyone perceives even falsely(as you have) that another person is distorting the opinion/view you believe, then claiming strawman makes you the winner. That's definitely a logical fallacy("A fallacy is an argument or belief based on erroneous reasoning") as you put it.

Brother, we both admitted this wasn't going anywhere. But if we must...With all due respect, you speak from a place that is unable to acknowledge the plights of your fellow man. It's okay. It is what it is. I am an able bodied woman, I can acknowledge the plight of people who are not able bodied without feeling guilty that I'm able bodied. I have been called into the field of medicine, I'll have to be aware of the different illnesses that affect my future patients. It would be wrong not to. Different illnesses affect different races at different rates. And no, I'm not talking about the 3 bloodlines. I guess your field allows you to live in that bubble. If I were to ignore race I'd be putting people's lives at risk by not informing them of risk factors, preventative measures, etc. Makes sense now. :D

Brother, this isn't about winning or losing, it's not a video game. :D As I said earlier, we are engaged in a dialogue.

Okay so this right here is a strawman. My argument was that there are societal implications to race, you have completely distorted it, by saying that I experience and can relate to a life where I have no greater worry than my race and how society views it....the key indicator is how extreme your argument is. :D

Well, ABCnews is at it again.
Just last night on their nightly broadcast, they run a story about white police officers shooting a black man. Then just a few minutes later they have a report about 2 kids attacking an elderly man. The 2 kids were black and the man wasn't. No mention of race though.
They also ran a story about a guy who was stopped by police, pulled a gun on the officers and shot one of the officers 4 times, gravely wounding him. Again, no mention of the fact that the shooter was black and the officers were white. I guess it just doesn't fit the narrative unless the shooter is white and the "victim" is black.

Small wonder racial tensions are so high in this country. We have TV anchors like Tom Llamas at ABCnews to thank for it.
