Actually, Daniel 11 is a loose string of prophetic events that play out over the course of centuries that lead up to the time of the first advent and beyond, though they do lead up to Antiochus Epiphanes after the breakup of Alexander's empire into the four kingdoms. The first abomination was Antiochus IV Epiphanes of the Seleucid Empire, because he persecuted the believing Jews at the time, and set up idols in their temple. Antiochus IV Epiphanes is also the little horn in Daniel 8. However, the antichrist to come is the little horn described in Daniel 7, because you can see how their comings about take place differently.
Antiochus IV Epiphanes was an archetype of the antichrist to come, which will rule and set up his kingdom on earth, making war and devouring much like Antiochus did.
