I neglected to mention an existing CF subforum that might be along the lines we were talking:

-----------------

Christianity and World Religion Statement of Purpose

The Christianity and World Religion forum gives Christian members and members of non-Christian faiths the opportunity to come together to better understand, learn, and discuss different religious beliefs. This is also a place where these members can socialize with one another and develop friendships based on mutual respect. In an effort to maintain peace in this forum, only discussion and fellowship threads are allowed. Debate is not allowed in the C&WR forum. Civil and respectful conversation which seeks to understand or explain another religion is further explained below:

AND SO ON...
------------------

My "Mod experience is quite limited. In 1990-2000, I was a Mod at a Y2K board - run by a guy I was in a Christian Rock band with in early 70's - I modded the Religion subforum, which was full of the wildest End Times theories I have ever heard! It was a PREP BOARD - becuz ya know Y2k was gonna be
TEOTWAWKI !! (tHE eND oF tHE wORLD aS wE kNOW iT)

One Mormon guy had stock-piled ELEVEN TONS OF RICE!

Anyway, I will have to check it out -- I tend to be cubby-holed off into just a few forums at CF -- it is really broader than I imagine.

Right, CF already has inter-faith sub-forums for debate and non debate usage. The Bridge builders sub-forum was created for Christian interdenominational discussions. I agree losing the term ‘moderate’ might have a positive reaction encouraging more posting for friendly interchange.

Lol, yeah, who could forget y2k. All because people only used the last two digits for the year instead of typing 19 and the year -the whole internet was supposed to trigger massive blackouts, riots and the end of the world as we knew it.:)

...Those must have been some crazy times in the world of forums.

Same here.
