its a shame God couldnt just renew our minds at conversion. he did the hard part of saving us why make us jump through hoops to receive true freedom?

Well people would know you've changed that's for sure. Haha No sense though lamenting over the fact that the universe doesn't function in just the way you'd like. Just get on board and cooperate. The faster you renew your mind the quicker you'll get to perfection (albeit not in this lifetime) Be patient. You'll get there!its a shame God couldnt just renew our minds at conversion. he did the hard part of saving us why make us jump through hoops to receive true freedom?
And if you go the next 50 years with "no further changes;" how would anyone (including yourself) know that the salvation was actually real? After you believe, then confess what tiny, little you think does not measure up, then you are completely saved.
It it safe to die at that point with no further changes.
It is not about freedom. It is about fruit.its a shame God couldnt just renew our minds at conversion. he did the hard part of saving us why make us jump through hoops to receive true freedom?
God could just pick me up and put me at the top of the mountain. But wouldn't I be a lot stronger and wiser for having made the climb?
As parents, do we do for our children what they should be doing for themselves? No, because it isn't healthy for them.
And if you go the next 50 years with "no further changes;" how would anyone (including yourself) know that the salvation was actually real?
Matthew 7:20
So then, you will know them by their fruits.
From that logic, Paul was not saved when he wrote Romans 7.I believe that the point of salvation is when you mind has already been renewed.......the old man has passed away.....all things are new......
OY? Really? Do you not understand 1 Cor 12? Rom 12?How does somebody else's standing with God impact mine? It don't.
It is not about freedom. It is about fruit.
John 15:2
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:16
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Romans 6:18its also about freedom. Jesus came to set us free from our bondage including emotional bondage
Revelation 1:6 We need to know what we're doing and why, right ? Shouldn't a good King or Priest need to know how to sweep the floor all the way up including sitting on the throne or teaching and serving others to be good ? Jesus did and he is Lord over all .. How else could you know him top to bottom to truly be thankful and share his inheritance .. What may seem unpleasant now that you go through you'll be thankful for later , trust me, no trust God ..its a shame God couldnt just renew our minds at conversion. he did the hard part of saving us why make us jump through hoops to receive true freedom?

Perhaps he doesn't equate learning to accept responsibility with jumping through hoops.its a shame God couldnt just renew our minds at conversion. he did the hard part of saving us why make us jump through hoops to receive true freedom?
It is a complex matter (Matthew 13:26-28). Salvation is about getting the mind straightened out after it has been made crooked (John 17:3, Mark 13:22), and then staying that way until the end (Matthew 24:12-13). In order for that to happen, we need to be made free from the corrupted thinking through knowing the truth (John 15:3), and the only real enemy we have against us, is our flesh (James 1:14-15. Galatians 6:8, Galatians 5:16-21) - and there is a personal adversary in the world that we must not yield to (Matthew 25:41, Proverbs 25:26): the spirit that operates in the sons of disobedience (Ephesians 2:1-3, 1 John 4:4, Romans 6:16-18).its a shame God couldnt just renew our minds at conversion. he did the hard part of saving us why make us jump through hoops to receive true freedom?
