For all the concern over leaks at the White House, a more pressing problem might be the sinkhole on the North Lawn that appears to be growing by the day.

The pit in the ground, which was first reported by White House correspondents on site this week, appears to have opened just outside the press briefing room and deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley’s office.

Steve Herman, a reporter with Voice of America, tweeted that he first spotted the sinkhole last week. It has since grown, and another sinkhole has opened next to it.

I'm sorry, but what is it that sinkholes have to do with eschatology? I must have missed that part. In good old limestone Tennessee and Kentucky, a sinkhole means the roof of the cave beneath gave way.

My thought exactly. No where in Scripture that God asked us to look for something like sinkholes as the signs of His Return.

Sinkholes occur because the water from rainfall or broken pipes moves down through soil, especially limestone, begin to dissolve. This creates underground spaces and caverns. If there is not enough support for the land above the spaces, then a sudden collapse of the land surface can occur.

Like earthquakes, sinkholes happen all the time since the fall of man. It's just that there are more media exposes to it, even the weakest earthquake or tiniest sinkhole that make it seem like these are getting worse.
