Thank you, and I would agree this is the weekly in Numbers 28 ...
Ok. Perhaps we should wait to see if our brother LoveGod'sWord agrees with us, that we all might be on the same page, and of the same mind as far as is possible?

That would be fine, thank you.

And could you clarify the second question about Numbers 28 please?

Hi Guys sorry I was attending to something else.

The reference made in the OP for NUMBERS 28 was in relation to ORDINACES from the MOSAIC BOOK of the Covenant and SHADOW laws from COL 2.

In this case NUMBERS 28 was quoted in reference to the MEAT and DRINK offereings from the MOSAIC laws attached to the weekly Sabbath. Sin offerings were made every day of the week but on the weekly Sabbath days sin offereing made for remission of SIN were increased. These being all part of the SHADOW laws attached to COL 2.

There were the regularly scheduled times for the burnt offering. Burnt offerings were to be made every day, in the morning and the evening (Exod 29:38-42; Num. 28:3, 6, 2 Chron. 2:4, etc.). An additional burnt offering was to be offered up each Sabbath day (Num. 28:9-10).

Also, at the beginning of each month (Num. 28:11), at the celebration of Passover on the 14th day of the 1st month (Num. 28:16), along with new grain offering at Feast of Weeks (Num. 28:27), at the feast of trumpets, on sacred day in the 7th month (Num. 29:1.), and for the celebration of the new moon (Num. 29:6)

The purpose of posting this in the OP was to show the relation to the first part of COL 2:16 and the SHADOWS of MEAT AND DRINK which under the MOSAIC BOOK of the law point to Jesus and his sacrifice for our sins.

I have to go out not but please continue your discussion. I will pop in when I can.

Nice to chat with you guys.

Thank you for clarifying. So then Ezekiel, which we agree parallels Col 2, would include the offerings for the weekly sabbath?

So by implication, Col 2 would also include the weekly?

Hi Tall, nice to meet you.

Yes the offereings were made every day of the week twice a day but on the Sabbath(s) including the special sabbaths (not God's 4th Commandment) and annual festivals extra offereing were required.

Here we are only discussing burnt offereings which are most common but there was also many other types of offereing under the MOSIAC BOOK of the Covenant.

Please forgive me now as my time is limited. But please feel free to post and as you wish and I will try and pop back as I can. Or T7C may be able to help if I am not here.

Nice to meet you

Good to meet you as well. I previously posted considerably more in GT, but that was ages ago. It was before they created the Sabbath and law section. I know a few of the old timers around here. And ages ago I posted in the Adventist section as well.

God bless.

Sounds good bro. :) Always better to wait for clarification from the one who stated a matter. Kinda like how the bible [KJB] works.

Be careful when you go out and be safe from those Bunyips in the Outback ...

It sounds as though extra offerings were required on the weekly as well.

And it would seem that col. 2 refers to then

-Feasts (three pilgrim feasts)
-New moon
-Sabbaths, including Day of Atonement, trumpets, and weekly sabbath.

It is not the topic of this thread, so don't mean to distract, but do you hold to the KJB as being without error? It might help when discussing to know where you are coming from.

Sure, no worries. I do not mind answering [so long as we do not derail the OP of brother LoveGod'sWord], but please take careful notice of how I answer.

The King James Bible [KJB] is the perfectly preserved word of God in English [Psalms 12:6,7; Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33; Matthew 4:4, 5:18; Luke 4:4 KJB, etc].

I will recommend a helpful site that is found online for this [for instance, scroll down to bro. Sam Gipp [Baptist] for some helpful material to start with [I do not endorse all of his theological positions obviously, but he is a good brother]] - KJV Bible Vindicated

...The other are spelled out after for each feast. ...
I am not sure what was meant by this sentence specifically, but if I assume it refers to Numbers 28, and the timeframes of the offerings therein, the manner of the offerings are indeed given in relation to each timeframe, for instance:

Numbers 28:1-8 KJB, is the "continual" or "day by day" offerings, aka 'the daily'.

Numbers 28:9-10 KJB, is the "every sabbath" on "the sabbath day", which is the weekly 7th day Sabbath offerings.

Numbers 28:11-15 KJB, is the "beginnings of your months", and "every month", or monthly offerings.

Numbers 28:16-25 KJB is the "in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the LORD" and "in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread", which is the seasonal feast of Passover and of unleavened bread of the spring, and would be the spring seasonal offering, or even the first feast of the religious year offering.

Numbers 28:26-31 KJB is the "in the day of the firstfruits" and "after your weeks", or the seaonal wavesheaf offering along with Pentecost [feast of weeks], which basically closes the seasonal spring feasts.

Numbers 29:1-6 KJB continues them of the seasonal feasts "in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets", which is the seasonal fall feast of Trumpets and its offerings.

Numbers 29:7-11 KJB is the "have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein", "of atonement", or the seasonal fall feast of the day of atonement offering.

Numbers 29:12-40 KJB is the "on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days", which is the final seasonal fall feast of booths/ingathering/tabernacles offerings. Which completes the full offerings in the year.

This is undisputed.

... why do you think Ezekiel 45 is not referring to the weekly sabbath as well?
Several reasons, context was the first. Colossians 2, Ephesians 2 and Hebrews 9-10 another. Mediation another [God directly, versus through Moses]. Location [Stone, versus parchment/lambskin]. Author [God directly vs through Moses hand]. Pre vs post sin of mankind. Weekly, vs yearly [or of years]. God's vs the peoples. and so on.

Colossians 2, utilizes Ezekiel 45:17 KJB, as already seen here:

"... [5] In verse 16 there is a list of "ordinances" that are found given in that order [and other], in the Old Testament, what are they referring to there, and where is Paul quoting from?

Colossians 2:16 KJB Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:
Paul is quoting from (you will want to look up that word “solemnities”):

Ezekiel 45:17 KJB And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. ..." - COL 2:14-17 The REAL truth from God's Word
First of all, can we all agree that Colossians 2:16 KJB, when it speaks of "in meat, or in drink" is not referring to the Genesis/Levitical/Deuteronomic, etc. dietary and health laws in regards clean/unclean, but is instead a direct reference to "meat offerings" and "drink offerings", and that anyone who says otherwise, after being shown the connection, is in error on that point?

I really would like to lay that to rest.

Moving onward:

"... Colossians 2 KJB, parallels Ephesians 2 KJB, and Hebrews 9-10 KJB.

The language is the same. The "ordinances" in Colossians 2 deals with "shadows", such as the daily "meat and drink" offerings of a worldly sanctuary and carnal ordinances, the seasonal "feast days", the monthly "new moons", and the year based "sabbaths", in the singular, every 7 and 50th years, as Paul is citing Psalms 98:1-3; and Ezekiel 45:17 KJB with other texts.

The Sabbath of the LORD thy God is always called "my [as in God's] sabbaths" [or "the sabbath day", or "the sabbath of the LORD"] and is eternal, and the others in Leviticus 23:4 onward are called "your [the peoples] sabbaths" [Leviticus 26:35 KJB] and "her sabbaths" [Leviticus 26:34,43; 2 Chronicles 36:21; Lamentations 1:7; Hosea 2:11 KJB] which are "beside [given in addition to] the sabbaths of the LORD" [Leviticus 23:38 KJB].

The Ten Commandments, including the Sabbath of the 4th Commandment, are "light" [Proverbs 6:23, Isaiah 8:20, 51:4 KJB], never a "shadow", are "spiritual" [Romans 7:14 KJB], never "carnal" [Hebrews 9:10 KJB], even eternal [Exodus 31:16 KJB], never temporary.

Colossians 2:14 - "ordinances"
Ephesians 2:15 - "law of commandments contained in ordinances"
Hebrews 9:1 - "ordinances of divine service"
Hebrews 9:10 - "carnal ordinances"

Colossians 2:16 - "in meat, or in drink" [offerings]
Hebrews 9:10 - "meats and drinks" [offerings]

Colossians 2:12 - "also ye are risen with him"
Ephesians 2:6 - "raised us up together"

Colossians 2:16 - "a shadow of things to come"
Ephesians 2:7 - "in the ages to come"
Hebrews 9:11 - "of good things to come"
Hebrews 10:1 - "the law having a shadow of good things to come", "those sacrifices", "offered year by year"

[ps. none of the Ten Commandments deal with carnal sacrifices]
etc. ..." - SHADOW LAWS OF THE OLD COVENANT FULFILLED IN THE NEW? COL 2
Singular day [of the LORD, definite article or possession/ownership]:

Leviticus 23:3 KJB - Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

[or if speaking of all the weekly 7th days together, as "my [the LORD's] sabbaths"]

Exodus 31:13; Leviticus 19:3, 30, 26:2; Isaiah 56:4; Ezekiel 20:12,13,16,20,21,24, 22:8,26, 23:38, 44:24 KJB

Plural [of the people, "your" and "her"]:

Leviticus 26:35 KJB - As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.

Leviticus 26:34 KJB - Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.

Leviticus 26:43 KJB - The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.

2 Chronicles 36:21 KJB - To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

Lamentations 1:7 KJB - Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.

Hosea 2:11 KJB - I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
Please notice Hosea 2, in connection to Ezekiel 45:17, and Colossians 2:16.

[1] seasonal feasts, followed by
[2] new months, followed by
[3] her sabbaths.
Notice it does not say "my sabbaths", or "the sabbath".

Notice again, the increasing order, in relation to the shadowy things all given after sin of mankind, the seasonally, to monthly, to the yearly, 7th year and even 50th years, which ties back to Leviticus 25:4,6,8 ["sabbaths of years"] and 26:35 etc.

... Is not

Ezekiel 45:17 KJB - And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

a summary statement of the necessary offerings associated with all the appointed times? ...
'Dale' makes this mistake too [in his video on sabbath], but when the texts are prayerfully studied, in their context, such a mistake would not be, and cannot be, made.

There seems to be a confounding of two things, [1] sabbaths [and the differences between the original "of the LORD"], and [2] offerings therein [and the later yearly sabbaths].

[1] The Genesis Sabbath of the LORD, Genesis 2:1-3 KJB, has no offerings originally and is singular and definite with possession, "the seventh day the sabbath of the LORD thy God" [as per Exodus 20:8-11 KJB. etc].

[2a] After the sin of mankind, then sacrifices were included [even on the 7th day the sabbath], see Genesis 3:21, 4:3,4 KJB.

[2b] their [the peoples] yearly sabbaths given in Leviticus 23:4 onward, Leviticus 25 & 26, etc, all after the sin of mankind [and included also sacrifices with these].

These are two things. One is original, the other is not. The first [1] is eternal/light/substance/spiritual [Proverbs 6:23; Psalms 119:105; Isaiah 8:20, 51:4; Romans 7:14 KJB, etc.], the second [2a-b] is temporary/shadow/type/carnal [Colossians 2:16; Ephesians 2:15; Hebrews 9-10 KJB].

The order of progression in the listing would also prevent Ezekiel 45:17 KJB from speaking about the 7th day the Sabbath of God, as would the plurality. God is the God of order, and does not go from "daily" to "seasonal", to "monthly" back to a lesser 'weekly', rather than to the increased 'yearly' sabbaths. We can see that in practically every listing throughout the Bible [KJB].

... And then for instance

Ezekiel 45:21 KJB - In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.

would be spelling out one of the three pilgrim feats referenced in the feasts...
Ezekiel 45:21 KJB would demonstrate one of the three seasonal feasts in which the males had to come to Jerusalem:

"... [2.] "or in respect of an holyday" holy [feast] day; based upon the seasons, "seasonal"]. The word in the Greek for "holyday" is εορτης and means "a feast or festival" [Strong's Concordance]. These were "seasonal".

Leviticus 23:4 KJB These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

A list of them may be found in Leviticus 23 and elsewhere [ie, Leviticus 23:44, etc]:

Spring Feasts:

Passover: Leviticus 23:5 [Jesus dies AD 31, First Month - Abib/Nisan 14th, the 6th Day, 3 PM]

Feast of Unleavened Bread: Leviticus 23:6-8 [Jesus in the Tomb, Abib/Nisan 15th, the 7th Day]

Feast of Firstfruits [Wave Sheaf]: Leviticus 23:10-14 [Jesus resurrected, Abib/Nisan 16th, 1st day]

Pentecost [Feast of Weeks]: Leviticus 23:15-22 [Jesus, in the Holy Place, pouring of the Holy Spirit, Acts 1-3, etc Revelation 5:6, etc]

Long Summer

Fall Feasts:

Feast Of Trumpets: Leviticus 23:24-25 [Jesus, announcing coming Judgment, about to move, the bell is heard, 1833/4, Miller goes forward, Advent movement, etc]

Day Of Atonement: Leviticus 23:27-32 [Jesus in the Most Holy Place, 1843/44, specifically Oct 22 1844, the bell is heard, Jesus and Father moved from Holy to Most Holy in Heavenly Sanctuary, see alo Revelation 9:5,6,10 - "5 months", and Revelation 9:13-15] KJB

Feast of Booths/Tabernacles/Ingathering: Leviticus 23:34-43 [Harvest, and on into Millennium and then into eternity]

Yet, moreso specifically, we see that these “heorte” [Feast] refers to the Three Specific feasts that were in their “seasons”:

[1] the feast of Unleavened Bread,
[2] the feast of Weeks [Pentecost],
[3] the feast of Tabernacles, wherein they had to come up to Jerusalem:

Exodus 23:14 KJB - Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

Exodus 23:17 KJB - Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.

Deuteronomy 16:16 KJB - Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:

1 Kings 9:25 KJB - And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that [was] before the LORD. So he finished the house.

2 Chronicles 8:13 KJB - Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, [even] in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles. ..." - COL 2:14-17 The REAL truth from God's Word

Thank you for clarifying. So then Ezekiel, which we agree parallels Col 2 ...
Paul is drawing from Ezekiel 45:17 for Colossians 2:16, that is for certain as shown previously - SHADOW LAWS OF THE OLD COVENANT FULFILLED IN THE NEW? COL 2

See also -

No sense in having to redo all of that since it has been placed in a single location for easy access and research.

Colossians 2 speaks directly of "contrary", "ordinances", "shadow", "things to come" none of which apply to the original Creation sabbath of the LORD, the 7th day the sabbath of the LORD, which is eternal, Law, light, memorial [Remember], and "made for the man [Adam]", and thus cannot be 'contrary' to him, and all in him, especially when Isaiah 66:23 KJB mentions it in the New Heavens and Earth], etc.

Given the words used, and the context, and the connection to Numbers 28-29 and Ezekiel 45, etc. I would say it is most likely to refer to food and drink offerings, yes.

Also, there was not much on unclean drinks in any case, though I have seen some arguments.

I have also seen arguments for this relating to fasting.

But I do not at this time find those convincing compared to the food and drink offering arguments.

Notice again, the increasing order, in relation to the shadowy things all given after sin of mankind, the seasonally, to monthly, to the yearly, 7th year and even 50th years, which ties back to Leviticus 25:4,6,8 ["sabbaths of years"] and 26:35 etc.

I have seen some say decreasing order, yearly, monthly, weekly, for instance Bacchiocci, "Dale" as you affectionately call him, etc.

However, I think both that and the proposal that the sabbaths here refer only to the yearly is incorrect.

The Feasts refer to the three pilgrim feasts. This becomes more apparent in the OT listings.

The term moed is used to refer to all the appointed times. The KJB renders this "feasts" in Lev. 23:2

23:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

4150. moed
Strong's Concordance
moed: appointed time, place, or meeting
Original Word: מוֹעֵד
Part of Speech: Noun Masculine

However, within the description of the various appointed times or convocations the feasts are distinguished from the sabbaths.

2282. Chag
Strong's Concordance
chag: a festival gathering, feast, pilgrim feast

So for instance, the term chag is used in the following, rendered "feast":

Lev. 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.

Meanwhile, the Trumpets and Day of Atonement are specifically said to be sabbaths:

24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

We again see Chag here rendered "feast days".

Hosea 2:11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.

All of her solemn feasts is "moed". So again we see that all the appointed times are "moed" but only the pilgrim feasts are designated as chag.

In Numbers 28-29 we again see the same pattern. Chag is used to describe the pilgrim feasts:

17 And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.

12 And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days:

Also, chag is the word used in all of the following. You obviously referenced most of these already in your posts above. But consistently the three pilgrimage feasts are designated as chag, while the others are not.

Exodus 23:16 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

Exodus 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.

Deut 16:13 Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:

Deut 16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:

This last one is instructive in that it breaks down the various appointed times, in to the various types.

2 Chronicles 8:13 Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, [even] in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles

It references the sabbaths, new moons, and the feasts (again chag), which it designates as the three pilgrim feasts. The Day of Atonement and Trumpets are specifically said to be Sabbaths in Lev. 23 as noted. So since the feasts here are spelled out to be the three pilgrim feasts, then the others would fall under sabbaths.

They are all moed, appointed times, but not all are chag (feasts).

And we see this again in Ezekiel 45. Feasts in vs. 17 is chag. Then it lists the new moons, sabbaths, and summarizes "all the solemnities" which is moed.

So all of them are moed, or appointed times, but only the pilgrim feasts are chag.

17 And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

The weekly sabbath is included in Lev. 23 in the moed:

23:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts (moed) of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

It is also referenced with its offerings in Numbers 28, and 29:

9 And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof:

10 This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

And therefore it is also referencing it in Ezekiel 45 and Col. 2.

By the way, if you are asserting Col references the 7 year sabbaths of the land, etc. you would need to demonstrate that Numbers 28, 29, Ezekiel 45, etc. reference them.

It makes more sense to then understand it as

feasts - chag, pilgrimage feasts, the three
new moon
sabbaths- weekly and day of atonement, trumpets, etc.

Now BK did you actually read the post you were responding to? (Post # 46 linked)
What make you think I did not? Is it because you have not converted me yet?

If I ask you yes or no questions about the verses you posted, will you respond yes or no? If so it will be a first for you.
