1 John 4:4
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater isHe who is in you than he who is in the world
But that isn't the title or the question of the thread, though it's true of course......

hahaha...... hollywood wins ?? Billions of people see 'ghosts' every day - ON TV/ MOVIES/ MEDIA..... so their minds are blinded even more to the truth.

Realize they see, or "think" they see something, but sorry, there are no ghosts.

What it comes down to is...some people do see them and yet, they are not real in the sense that they are the spirits of dead people. They are either a projection from satan or evil spirits. They are demonic. Aliens are all demonic also. There is no such thing as aliens from other planets.

I don't know this for a fact, I haven't done any research on it, but I would bet my last dollar that the only people who do see ghosts (or get abducted by "Aliens")...are non-believers. You just don't hear about Christians or Pastors being abducted or whatever. Because we have authority over them in Jesus name.

They are either a projection from satan or evil spirits.
Or they are man made. This happens more often than people realize,
to deceive whole parishes, entire towns and cities, and even countries and nations and peoples.

I have had experiences, and I find ghost stories intriguing because I want to know the truth behind it. I don't know that I believe in ghosts in the sense of the spirits of dead human's remaining to haunt or walk the earth. I think when a person dies their spirit is no longer present on earth unless there is an unusual circumstance, like the Sammuel incident that was mentioned earlier.

I think that demons and angels will sometimes do things.

If it is frightening, causes confusion or doubts, or distracts people from truth, then the occurrences are demonic. If it is something helpful, then I think it was an angel.

I have seen things move when they should not have, and I've felt presences, seen things, and heard things.

Every time there has been something frightening going on it has been in a place where bad things happened, God was not believed, or pagan/Wiccan activity was going on, or had been in the past. There was one place where it was presented as "godly" and on the surface it looked that way, but there was much manipulation, twisting of Scripture, and corruption going on.

There is no doubt people do see ghosts. Particularly interesting is when children report sighting apparitions.
I have never seen any.
I want to discuss what exactly is being sensed or seen.
My own view is that it is the devil and his demons making mischief. Perhaps impersonating those who have passed away. I keep away completely from all sych stuff and keep My eyes on Christ. But i believe those who do not know christ simply get sucked into unwholesome phenomena and think they are seeing dead people.
I genuinely would like to know what the Word of God is on this and how we should answer someone when we are questioned about it. Does the Bible explain ghosts?

People's brains are very social and seek faces, in trees or on Mars.

The elderly get dementia for a number of reasons, but as eyesight and hearing fails
the brain will depend more and more on imagined details. Two elderly ladies
on our block went through the same stories and visions of people in their
(empty) house as they aged. Each had to leave their homes in the following months.

I've heard of elderly people "seeing" deceased loved one just before passing away themselves (as in days or weeks, not moments). I always thought that having impaired mental or physical conditions and knowing they would not live long, they were maybe thinking of those lost loved one more than they might have been otherwise. I think these people believed they were seeing them, but it was probably their imaginations, a coping mechanism, or misconception in their brains.

Watching the show Brain Games really shows how people's minds can make mistakes or trick themselves. I believe the subconscious mind plays a huge role in all this.

This phenomenon (After-Death Communication) is not just restricted to elderly people or the terminally ill, and is remarkably common. People generally do not openly discuss it, so awareness is not always high. It can range from a simple strong feeling that a person is still present somehow, to seeing or talking to the deceased. Psychologists and doctors used to simply consider it an hallucination but some researchers are taking the phenomenon more seriously because the people that experience it are typically mentally healthy.

People see all kinds of things. Imagination is a powerful thing.

Does the Bible explain ghosts?

Not really. Jesus said he's not a ghost, because of his corporeal body. But whether he was referring to a commonly believed myth (what I think) or to reality (I don't think so) is unclear.

Personally, I don't believe in ghosts at all. If they were a thing, they'd most likely be well documented and observed by the scientific community by now. Unless only those with non-scientific minds can see them... the plot thickens.

I think if ghost in the sense of the souls of dead humans haunting the earth were real, then there would be a lot more of the perceived activity. Think of all the people who have ever lived and died. The world would be a massive swarm of dead people's spirits.
