I'm sorry, let me go look that up and clarify.
And yes, there IS an answer.
your faith will make you well,,,
but watch this it's Chapter 10
Davids been praying for a few weeks if i remember correctly..
now The angel of the Lord appears and tells Daniel that from the first day he'd set his heart to pray and fast (humbling yourself before God), that his words were heard (in Heaven I'm assuming)
And that this angel has come "in response to your words"
Then in v 13 he goes on to explain why he was detained.
a demon was fighting him.

So here we have man prays, God hears
God sends angels to deliver answer.
Angel is held up by spiritual warfare.
In due time, the angel is able to defeat demon
and deliver the answer to the prayer.:

Then he said to me, "Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. 13"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-onedays; then behold, Michael, one of the chiefprinces, came to help me, for I had been leftthere with the kings of Persia. 14"Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future."…

So if Daniel is praying and fasting (that's a long fast and prayer campaign!) what if that gives (somehow) strength to the battle going on in the spiritual realm?
When I had prayed for God to heal my frozen shoulder, and then I just "waited" expectantly.. well one evening during bible study, I began to sing a song a lady was
singing on the video, "I am the God that healeth me"
Next thing you know, AS i'm worshiping, BAM I get healed.

Anyhow, I'm not sure how it all works
But I've been healed more than once
i've layed hands on others and they've been healed.
And Jesus always healed "those who were oppressed
by the Devil.

So,,, I'm sorry you're suffering. I've suffered many times
and it's no fun :(
And may grace and peace be multiplied unto you regardless
of which route you take or what happens concerning healing.

in Daniel 10 the angel is sent to answer prayer because in the OT people did not have Christ within them... I think our prayers are answered much more directly now :)

plus there IS a scripture about it all... I forget where it is, but it says 'AFTER YOU HAVE SUFFERED A LITTLE WHILE'... it seems Christians are called to suffering...

in other places it says that we are to share in Jesus' suffering...

so i don't think it's all black and white that we should get instant healing

tho i am grateful for your post because as i considered it, my back pain went down to almost nothing...

i had also considered that when God told me that i was like Joseph, and had to wait for healing of the demonic problem and FIFTEEN YEARS went by... lately i was considering that MAYBE that wasn't God that told me i had to wait...

and i've been working on 'the time of Joseph is NOW' and my healing has started!!

Faith is agreement with God, and I think you are right to agree with scripture on instant healing, but also there are other scriptures!

I am praying for 'no shadow of turning' while God heals my back, straightens it i mean... but just wanted to say thank you for putting that notion in my head, to meditate on

God Bless

Ok now you insult me with this word.
You seem to be insulted easily.
I was asking you, with a smile, politely, to please stop attacking the person.
each post you write is about me.
If you want to attack my ideas, please please feel free to come with some Scripture and let's discuss :)
Now here you are accusing me once more of being "to" ignorant.
I don't have time for this, with all due respect.
i come here to enjoy myself, meet like minded Christians and discuss theology
:)
I am more than happy to discuss ideas.
Please let's leave it at that, not attacking me as a person.
Thank you!

Stating I am immature and attacking you, this is what you have been doing to everyone else here.
You for SURE have me confused with someone else lol
I've never called anyone anything here.

And your to ignorant of the scriptures, and you pull a verse and do not take it into into context
:sigh::wave:

I agree. We are never promised physical healing in this present world of death and disease. Brain disease (and there are many neurological diseases) is a facet of disease, like any other disease except for the devastating loss of what we call "mind". I watched helplessly while my mother "lost her mind" due to dementia, brought on by stroke. After she "recovered" from the stroke, she began to have hallucinations and delusions--that were indistinguishable from those of "psychotic" clients I had worked with.

That is why I believe that there is a physical basis for much "mental illness". I do believe that many with "mental illness" from early life have a likely genetic predisposition to it and there could be a variety of "triggering" elements for it. It has been known for a while that smoking marijuana can trigger psychosis in some. Other street drugs and alcohol could be triggering elements. Even prescription psychoactive drugs could be implicated as well. It has been known for some time, by the pharmaceutical companies, that approximately five percent of those who take SSRI antidepressants will experience "psychotic breaks". The way that SSRI's work is that they actually change the "architecture" of the brain--that's why they take a while to be effective and probably why they cease to be effective in some people.

I believe that what we call "mental illness" is either based in brain physiology, a spiritual illness or a combination of the two.

But, we are promised spiritual healing. "This present darkness" is spiritual illness and it is done away in Christ. Depravity does not come from brain disease but from a lack of faith and from poor moral choices.
I agree, we are promised spiritual healing, not necessarily physical healing.

I was thinking about this instant healing...

the catholics say 'only say the Word and I SHALL be healed'

the scripture says 'you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free'

there is often a FUTURE TENSE to 'shall' and 'will'

i have even rallied the whole church to call out the elders and anoint me with oil for healing of the demonic problem... nothing happened.

but perhaps the scripture says that 'you WILL be healed' and it doesn't mean immediately, necessarily all the time.

i think i will take my promises of healing and consider it DONE at the time of the promise, and not worry about the rest... calling things that are not as tho they were.

also, regarding demons, it's good to remember that He prepares a table before me in THE PRESENCE of my enemies

Oh my gosh, you're so sweet! you want to 'discuss'!!!
I love this.
You need hugs?
Hope things are alright for you.

Concerning Angels bringing blessings etc.
In NT (Hebrews 1) it says,

...and to which of the angels did God ever say:
“Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet” ?
Are not the angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will
inherit salvation?

So,, perhaps they still do serve us
The angels are mentioned in Genesis as "ascending to" and "descending from"
Heaven (COOL!)
Like they go up and get stuff and bring it to us? I dunno lol.
But they're "ministering to us" in some form.
I know it's the very SPIRIT of God who 'comforts' and encourages us.

plus there IS a scripture about it all... I forget where it is, but it says 'AFTER YOU HAVE SUFFERED A LITTLE WHILE'... it seems Christians are called to suffering...
YES! It speaks of the devil attacking us! and how we're to "stand firm" and that our God
will rescue us!
Oh my gosh, I really needed this today, thank you!
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 10. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 11To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Don't know what He means here by a "little while" ;)
But He says to "resist"!... keep fighting (fight the good fight of faith baby!!!)
Interesting passage really.. Makes me want to dig deeper about end of v 9
(after 'resist him firm in your faith)

in other places it says that we are to share in Jesus' suffering...
Check > this out!
Yes, we do share in His sufferings.
He said that they'd hate us because they hate Him.
We're persecuted and lied about and scorned etc.
But Jesus didn't suffer sickness.
IJS :)

so i don't think it's all black and white that we should get instant healing
I don't suggest "instant" healing.
I believe in healing, but don't know "when" it comes about.
Just that we have to fight (fight the good fight of faith) for our healing.
We have to grab hold of the hem of His garment ...imo

tho i am grateful for your post because as i considered it, my back pain went down to almost nothing...
Ugh, back pain. :(
Sorry to hear about that!

i had also considered that when God told me that i was like Joseph, and had to wait for healing of the demonic problem and FIFTEEN YEARS went by... lately i was considering that MAYBE that wasn't God that told me i had to wait...

I'm glad you posted here!
I bet others will be praying with you.

and i've been working on 'the time of Joseph is NOW' and my healing has started!!
This is so awesome!
Isn't it just the coolest thing to watch our Father work His miracles!
Makes me cry and laugh and all kinds of emotional stuff lol
I don't even put on mascara lately lol

Faith is agreement with God, and I think you are right to agree with scripture on instant healing, but also there are other scriptures!
I do think that healing is ours.. that Jesus 'redeemed' us and that as our "Saviour"
He's saved us from more than just "spiritual death"
but that's another huge study, and again,, just my opinion.
I wish i could spend more time in this stuff but right now i'm
working on a few projects and so time is limited.

I am praying for 'no shadow of turning' while God heals my back, straightens it i mean... but just wanted to say thank you for putting that notion in my head, to meditate on

God Bless

Well, you know, it's odd... when I received the revelation that I was put into 'the secret place' and scrambled to go read the scripture, it says 'He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep you in all your ways, etc, bear you up in their hands lest you cast your foot against a stone'... and i REALLY REALLY took hope in that, tho i don't know why exactly, coz i assumed God was doing all that already!

but that night when i went to bed, i 'hear voices' just as i'm falling asleep, and one said 'it's all in her head!' and the other asked me 'why do you care about that??' as if astonished that i gave ANY credence to the enemy OR stuff that is 'all in my head'

so i thought about these angels, who had apparently just arrived and were checking out the territory, and wondered what they would do..

a couple of days later, the word 'magnesium!!!' boomed out of my heart, and i went and found THIS ARTICLE
anyway, i have a nasty demon in my thyroid, and it was bothering me, and something went from my heart up to the demon and punched it!!

so perhaps you are right that God and angels have different jobs with us!

and talking about Daniel, i once had a vision of two beings in outer space, they were HUGE and one had long flowing red robes on, and the other had long flowing white robes on, and they were coming at each other and fighting in 'crouching tiger hidden dragon' kind of ways... the vision was snatched from me almost instantly, but i wondered about it... why they were the same except the colour of their robes, etc.

so it just might be that i have the same problem as Daniel did and i had demons withstanding my angels.

i enjoyed your post to me, and i will take all the hugs and prayers that i can get :)

you didn't mis-speak, yes i do want to discuss :)

We are actually called to suffer. Tribulation is the way into the kingdom. My mental illness has been a blessing. Praise the Lord. :)

Acts 14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”

Romans 5:3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”[c]

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 corinthians 12:8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I have already said that i'm almost grateful for the suffering because it led me deeper into God... 'almost' :) but the scripture ALSO says 'once you have suffered A LITTLE WHILE' i don't think we are called to suffer FOREVER, because we learn from Christ, Who's yoke is easy and burden light, and soon, in Christ, we look at the demons that once drove us to TERROR as something like 'an irritant', and we do not suffer the way we used to.

God promises to give us the Kingdom, He also promises to give us the desires of our hearts, which for most of us includes healing, and righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

yes, the suffering tends to go on for a long time, maybe i'm a slow learner... once a certain saint, who i can't remember the name of, was complaining about suffering, and Jesus answered her and said 'This is the way I treat all My friends' and instead of being comforted she said 'Well, Lord, it is of little wonder then that You have so few' :)

The apostles didnt suffer all the time, but they teach us that tribulation is good. Its written too many times.

I know what you mean, and without demons and this illness, i would not have even MET Jesus, for i was a HARD atheist before the demons came along!

and when i am weak i am strong, well that is also learning to lean on Christ, and after we have suffered a little while it is to be 'not i who lives, but Christ who lives in me, yet i live'... the exchange is to be complete at some point. at that point we are much 'weak' and Jesus is STRONG in our lives.

'in the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world'
'be in the world but not of it'

all of these promises are GOOD NEWS, suffering isn't THE POINT, it is simply a means to an END for God
'you meant it for evil, but God meant it for good'

I'm sorry lolol I think this post makes no sense, as i'm trying to talk of suffering and it's not a thing i understand clearly... when something hurts too much i cry out to Jesus LOUDLY, and i get angry because He is so close, yet so far, I just can't understand why He doesn't heal me INSTANTLY

God told me that I'm like Joseph, and I have to wait for healing, all these years I have been waiting, and I have nooooo idea HOW i'm like Joseph, except my brothers did me wrong, but I do know that I ran to the Bible to count the YEARS until the promise came thru... and it was 'good' at the end of the story for Joseph.

This reminds me of the morning, about 8 years ago, when I woke up and before even sitting up I heard the word "biotin".
It wasn't really audible, it was very loud though lol.
I sure sat up and took notice.
So I googled biotin, because I'd heard of it but didn't really know
what it was about.
Anyhow, one day I might know 'why' but i still believe it was God
the Father, urging me to take biotin. (Which i do to this day btw)

I would think the angels and demons fight yes, from other places in the Bible where one gets that idea :)

i enjoyed your post to me, and i will take all the hugs and prayers that i can get :)

God is so good.
I'm excited for the future, knowing He's so wonderful to His kids.
He will make it all beautiful, in due time!

Ok, now that I have my rest and a night to calm my own emotions. My point is this, people should never say to a person disabled with mental illness that it is a spiritual lack, sin on their part, or lack of faith. To do so pushes them away from the speaker and possibly christianity and jesus, often causeing them to rethink their own much needed medications. If they chose to go off their meds this can hospitalize them, or force them to commit suicide. This is a physical problem here. Can it be spiritual too, yes. However, saying such things is dangerous to someone in that State of thought with a disability. What sunlover1 was statring was it was spiritual and that we can be healed of it on this world, seemingly saying it was due to our own sin being the culprit, or lacking faith. Now I know this to be false in my own life and in others. Bottom line is that people like sunlover1 scare, push people away with the illness, and cause them to rethink their medications or salvation. Food for thought.

God is so good.
I'm excited for the future, knowing He's so wonderful to His kids.
He will make it all beautiful, in due time!
it's amazing what vitamins and stuff can do, isn't it?? when i was a vegan and anemic, God pointed me to pumpkin seeds, which i love, for iron :)

when i looked up magnesium, i did it specifically for mental illness, coz otherwise all you find is that it's good for your muscles etc ... so maybe you have a specific problem that you were praying about, and biotin was the answer?

i remember, don't know if it was THIS forum or not, but somebody else was asking 'is it mental illness or demons?' and there was a LOT of people chiming in about demons, and there was ONE guy telling people how to eat to get rid of it all... and i said something about demons, and the guy said 'oh no! another wild and wooly one!' lol so i asked him about that diet, and i tried it for a bit, but it didn't help... since then, i have tried to find the convo in google, but can't

oh i think God just answered a prayer!

don't you think God loves it when His kids socialize and talk about Him?

and yes, i think my psalm 91 angels are fighting for me :)

I think so.
Perhaps, but i don't remember praying about anything healthwise.
But I take the biotin :)
Magnesium is a huge blessing to me too.
I can't take mine right now because if
you don't have potassium in your diet,
it can give you a headache.

demonic does sound so goofy, and while I know there are spiritual attacks
and a kingdom of darkness etc. i didn't know just how much of a nuisance
it was until i began praying with this guy on youtube and now it seems I'm
freer and freer and freer! Life was great and now it's like Heaven!

A believer ("Christian") with a mental condition, is more saved (not less).

As Jesus said "he who is forgiven little loves little, but he who is forgiven much loves much"

There is hope also, that the Holy Spirit can reinterpret the nature of your mental condition, in such a way that it is less of a burden (the Holy Spirit has done this for me, a couple of times - it's better than getting rid of the mental condition, I can tell you!)

I hope i sent you a message before i took leave of CF (seemed to from seeing this thread!) I just began hanging out here a bit again. I'm happy to share if i did not at that time. Hoping things have improved a great deal.
I also know, from reading those messages and comparing to life now, that we will always have to stand with our swords if we're standing in faith and continuing on with God.
