I heard an interesting speculation about the 24 elders seeing as no one knows for sure who they are. Some say the 12 apostles and 12 prophets, but what if they are 24 of the closest to God leaders throughout Judaism and Christianity.

Franklin Graham felt that at the death of his father, all hell will break loose.

From this saying, someone now speculates that now that the 24 elders are seated, the rest of Revelation can start to be fulfilled - GT, etc. - the coming of Jesus!

Who else could they be? Names anyone?

They are angelic beings representing the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles.

Well, seeing as it is not in scripture WHO they are FOR SURE, who in history besides Billy Graham could make up the rest?

I would say Paul and John
Enoch
Moses

I thought the 24 elders referred to the 24 COURSES of priests from OT

Why just OT?

Anyway, seeing as that is not in scripture, can we just think who might qualify? Like a game.

Shouldn't speculate on Biblical understanding as playing a game. Whats the point of positing guesses... unless there is Biblical evidence, silence is golden.

Don't know who the 24 elders are. But since they have crowns, Revelation 4:4, they are likely major figures from the bible.

Not Billy Graham though, since John was taken to heaven in the first century.

Jesus said that John the Baptist was the greatest prophet, and yet the least of these that were to follow is greater than John.

Just a thought, but assuming these are people and not angelic beings, or apocryphal symbols.... I'm guessing that the most qualified candidates are probably completely lost to history, or popular culture and could be considered completely unremarkable by those around them.

I would agree to John Wesley.

Since God and heaven are outside of time, why would the timing of Rev Graham's death affect anything?

John AND Charles Wesley...

John Paul George and Ringo, if timing of death doesn't affect anything - Ringo and Paul are still alive

Well, I don't know how long the 24 elders stay SEATED -
it seems they are always falling on their faces - worshipping
and any CROWNS they have they cast before God

Prophecy is according to our time, is exact and on the nose.
