This simple analysis does the following:
From the 1st year of Rehoboam unto his 18th year, means 17 full years have passed. Add 17 to the year count.
Ex #2. From Asa's 2nd year to his 27th year, add 25 years to the count.
For now, i am starting with the year of the division of the kingdom. I will get back to Saul, David, and Solomon later.
40th year of Solomon = Rehoboam #1
Year 1 -[XXX] 40th year of Solomon, death Rehoboam began to rule Judah and Jeroboam began to rule the 10 northern tribes (1 Kings 14)
Year 18 - Abijam begins to rule Judah in Jeroboam's 18th year (1 Kings 15:1-2) (3 yrs)
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah. Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
Year 20 - Asa begins to rule in Judah Jeroboam's 20th year (1 Kings 15:9-10)(1 year)
* And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah. And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
Year 21 - Nadab begins to rule Israel in Asa's 2nd year (1 Kings 15:25) (for 2 years)
And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
Year 22 - Baasha begins to rule Israel in Asa's 3rd year (1 Kings 15:33) (24 yrs)
In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
Year 45 - Elah begins to rule Israel in Asa's 26th year (1 Kings 16:8) (2 yrs)
In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
Year 46 - Zimri rules Israel for 7 days in Asa's 27th year (1 Kings 16:15). This is also the year Tibni and Omri begin rival reigns in Israel following Zimri's suicide (1 Kings 16:21-22).
Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri. 22 But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
Year 50 - Omri prevails over Tibni and begins the first year of his SOLE reign over Israel in Asa's 31st year (1 Kings 16:22-23)
But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned. *23* In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
Year 57 - Ahab begins to rule Israel in Asa's 38th year (1 Kings 16:29) (22 yrs)
And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
Year 61 - Jehoshaphat begins to rule Judah in Ahab's 4th year (1 Kings 22:41-42) (25 yrs)
And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel. 42 Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
Year 77 - Ahaziah begins to rule Israel in Jehoshaphat's 17th year (1 Kings 22:51) (2 yrs)
Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.
And died in the 2nd year 83, of Judah's Jehoram (2 Kings 1:17) So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.
Year 78 JJehoram begins to rule Israel in Jehoshaphat's 18th. 2 kings 3:1
Year 82 - JJehoram begins to rule Judah in Jehoram's (of Israel) 5th year (2 Kings 8:16-17). And in the fifth year of AJoram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign. 17Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
Note: despite some ambiguity regarding the reign of Judah's Jehoram, his reign is not critical in determining the duration of the overall timeline.
Year 89- Ahaziah, son of JJehoram begins to rule Judah in Jehoram's (of Israel) 12th year (2 Kings 8:25-26)
*[[2Ki 8:25]] KJV* In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
*[[2Ki 8:26]] KJV* Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
