Though no one knows the exact time if you had to guess based on what's happening in the world which year do you think he will return? We are in 2018 right now lol if you haven't realized that.

Look for the best estimate as to the time when men will be suffering under great heat and bitterly complaining, blaming God for it. That's in about 20 to 50 years.

Hello and welcome to CF!

As to your question, well, I'm not much into date-setting. Yes, we can look around and see all kinds of reasons why Christ's return seems it must be imminent. But if you read such speculations in history, it seems every generation has seen these same things. What does seem true is that we have many of them today. So maybe it will be soon. Or maybe we just can't envision what is REALLY predicted, and so it will progress much more, maybe over long years, before He returns.

However, I am reminded of some speculation that tended to consider the overview of history as a recapitulation of the days of creation - in which case we are on the cusp of the 7th day so according to Christ's Resurrection - so maybe within a couple hundred years, or much sooner.

But as with the early Christians, our job is simply always to be ready. After all, we never know when we might be taken to stand before Him.

Again, welcome to CF. :)

Well although i think we are in the end times i don't think its going to happen for a long time yet, still far too much yet to happen from Revelation.

Global Warming is the biggest threat though and if things don't change the human species won't last more than a couple of hundred years so he might turn up in the 24th century.

Sometime between today and ~1E1000 years from now, which is the estimated time when the universe will experience total heat death. 1E1000 is 1 followed by a thousand zeros, and is the same as saying 10^(10^3). But I suspect the Lord will return before the heat death of the universe.

The irony is that when the end comes it won't be of Gods doing, man will have done it himself.

I am also of the belief that the events of revelation are not set in stone, the future can be changed if humans change.

Not all of Revelation takes place before Jesus takes His bride off the Earth.

LOL There is no such thing as global warming...Do you know that there are petified forests in the arctic? Petrified trees, ferns and other plants....Meaning? It was WARM there once....What you're looking at is climate change which is cyclical..

The earth experiences warming and cooling trends, but these happen slowly over the course of thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of years.

What the earth is experiencing right now is a rapid warming trend which all evidence points to being anthropogenic.

Its actually between now and 4 billion years cause that is when our sun will die. when that happens life on earth will become extinct.

When the sun dies we would be that advanced enough to go and live elsewhere in the universe on a new earth.

I'm confident the Lord will likely come before the sun dies, but I figured I'd extend the timeline to one of the utmost limits for the sake of effect.

My only real point is that we don't know and can't know when the Lord's Parousia will be.

Petrified Trees and plants are caused by volcanic eruptions, it has nothing to do with a warm climate. I have visited a petrified forest in Lesvos.

Yep.

There was an an ice age millions of years ago but that was mainly caused by an asteroid impact which shut out the sun for years killing the dinosaurs and cooling the earth.

Are you talking about slow changes where mammoths were frozen solid with food still in their mouths? I agree..That is very slow.

Volcanoes do not petrify plants...They bury them or burn them. You need to stop listening to "scientists" and start looking at facts.

Revelation says there will be a new planet earth so its safe to conclude that this one will die or be destroyed when he comes again.

The day when the angels arrive in their vast spaceships and man grows up realizes he is not alone in the universe and takes us to the New earth.

What the Apocalypse is talking about is renewal and restoration of creation, it is echoing the Prophet Isaiah who says the same thing, a new heavens and a new earth, the wolf will lay down with the lamb, the lion shall eat straw like an ox (etc). It's not a new planet, it's God making creation new, healing it, restoring it.

Considering that these finds are from over ten thousand years ago at the tail end of the last ice age and they were living in areas already quite frozen--then they didn't die because it suddenly got cold, they died where it was already quite cold and the cold preserved them.

They don't. The vast heat from the erruption causes them to petrify. Same thing happened to humans at pompeii.

You need to look at the real science not the dodgy creation science.

Healing it until the sun dies in 4 billion years time unless your seriously suggesting God is going to replace the sun.
