It was a polished presentation, CBS gave it a 75% approval rating, hard to believe from CBS.

It drew a tear or two from my American eyes!

Loved the closing statement in the great American motto?

"In God We Trust"

As Trump pointed to the inscription written above his head.

Eh. Every state of the union, every speech...etc by every president is almost always the same thing. The president sort of tries to talk smoothly and win over people while also trying to stick to his guns. People on his side stand and clap. People on the other side sit and look grumpy. The news afterwards then criticizes then speech depending on which side of the fence they are on. In short its all the same.

With that said did I like his speech? It was good, but not perfect. As always my issue with Trump is his over exaggerating of things. Many of the facts he brought up were over exaggerated/stretched out. Such as:
"Under the current broken system, a single immigrant can bring in virtually unlimited numbers of distant relatives."

If hes referring to illegals, they can't bring in anyone. If hes referring to legal immigrants, they can't bring anyone in. And for those they can bring in, it takes alot of money and alot of time. My wife wants to bring her mother, it will take only a few months and some money. However she cannot bring her siblings because the process is a 20 year process. However if her mother is here, her mom can bring them here way easier.

Though regardless I see nothing wrong with an immigrant bringing whoever they want here. Isn't that what america is about? Not a single person in this country (except native americans) is native. We are all immigrants. Without immigrants, there would be no America. Also not sure how people bringing others affects security or economy. If anything immigrants means more people that will work and spend money. Better economy. Security, well that would really depend on what country they come from. But even then for the most part immigrants are vetted before coming. Doesn't always stop bad guys from getting in of course.

More imigrants that will work and spend more money?

We want current American citizens to work and spend money in America, not immigrants that send untold US wealth back to their homeland.

I live in Southern California, there isn't a migrant I know that isn't sending US wealth out of the country to their family members in other countries.

US dollars going to Mexico from their migrants is like 30% of their GNP.

40% of all monies leaving the USA by migrants sending it home is Mexico.

His quote on a broken system is 100% correct, I have seen with my eyes in a matter of a few years, entire migrant families coming, through "Many Loopholes" political refugee status being a big one, you have explained the a part of the "Quickly Changing" system, "Mom" first, "Siblings Second" and their children of course to follow. Trump openly stated this is going to stop, and be isolated to the immediate nuclear family, relatives excluded.

Taco, Corn, Mango, carts "Unliscensed" honking their bicycle horns, being pushed around the streets of Los Angeles, the vast majority being illegal Mexican immigrants, undermining local business, protected by the liberal government establishment from removal "Racial Profiling", as businesses shut their doors to the non-taxpaying carts in competition.

A downward spiral, to cities and neighborhoods that I pray stops!

Illegal Migrants stacked 15 deep in tight quarters, undermining Americans jobs, spending very little in our economy, sending the majority of their monies out of the country.

America is in a withdrawl from being a caretaker of the world, stop the foreign aid and take care of Americans.

I think it's a great thing immigration reform is taking place, stop the big American give away, take care of what we have.

Open Guantanamo Bay Detention again, Great as he openly told the story of Obama's releasing of ISIL terrorist, making it back to the war zone in leadership.

I realize some people from certain countries come here and bring others here and maybe they don't really do much of course. But its why we need more rules or those specific country and how immigrating works.

We want current American citizens to work and spend money in America, not immigrants that send untold US wealth back to their homeland.
I can't think of to many immigrants who don't send money back home. More so if they are from a poor country. I know its super common for people from my wifes country to send money or more so boxes back home with american goods because in her country $1 here is worth 50+ there. I don't really have an issue with immigrants sending money back home. They work for that money so why not. It seems silly to have a government that tells people what they can and can't do with their money.

Anyways the money they make also pays bills here in america, plus taxes, fuel...etc. So it goes into the economy. I'd certainly prefer someone who does something useful with their money than someone who just selfishly spend sit all themselves while neglecting others, even their own church.

Admittedly our economy is not doing as good as it could be. But I blame that on the fact we don't have enough jobs that pay well. Most pay so little that trying to survive is beyond hard. Which is why I am more for not sending jobs overseas. Granted no company is really going to bring those jobs back here when they are saving a ton overseas. And with automation happening in workplaces, thats going to kill us too.

...I STILL think "A taco truck on every corner!" would be the greatest election campaign slogan in US history. Heck, I might even vote for a Republican if they could promise this.

Yes I'm sure he had speech writers like most presidents do. I think only Bill Clinton wrote his own speech one SOTU address but his staff reviewed it for fact checks and stuff like that.

However, the basic concepts and themes were all Trump. That is why there were no pauses or drift offs as for example a GWB who was reading a speech from the teleprompter.

Focusing on we the people as the source of the strength of the Union was probably the best parts of the speech.

I think the speech exposed the democrats. How could anyone watch their childish behavior at the State of the Union and not realize these people are broken?

They exhibited immature, rude, racist, and boorish behavior and disrespected the flag, the President, the parents of children murdered by MS-13, the Constitution, and the American people.

I liked the speech for the most part. Just like I liked his joint address last year for the most part.

But most likely, any good will earned last night will be wiped away by a stupid tweet within the next few days. Trump is Trump, after all.

I love the straight up in your face to the liberal establishment, aren't you tired of their fake news and misrepresentation of the truth?

The complete speech, guest's surrounding the speech, and presentation was complete exposure of the truth on many matters in my opinion.

Is he moving to keep his campaign promises?

I believe so.

The democrats showed America exactly who they are, the many pictures and camera shots were classic.

If the conservative front could get "One More" supreme court appointment, the door will be shut, not to mention liberal Justice Ginsberg's boycott of the Address.

I'm not disagreeing but would you agree that the Republicans who acted this way during the Obama SOTU speeches we're like wise exposed for their immature, rude, racist, boorish behavior?

You bring up two different issues. Some immigrants have
an easier time bringing in relatives because they work with
advocacy groups and politicians to work around the laws.

150 years ago, we needed laborers to build the country by
pick and shovel. Today, we need people who are literate,
understand computers and can work with people, so that
is who we want to let into the country. It may sound cold,
but why would we bring in sick or elderly people who will
not contribute to society, but will cost us money? We have
our own needy and sick who need help. Veterans for one.

One Republican against what, about 40 Democrats?
No comparison, and he apologized later. When can
we expect the Democrats to apologize to us, much
less to the President?

Your 100% correct, but people don't want to hear the truth!

You mention higher skilled job's "computers"?

I work in Silicon Valley, Dot.com heaven, the tech industry has "undermined" American jobs through the work visa system.

My eyes see 50% of these workers are from India.

I have talked to many American born Tech's and they openly have shared that many insider tech companies are using this culture for lower wages and working conditions

Yes India is a 3rd world country, and yes these migrant workers are sending US wealth to their country in the Billion's of dollars.

The argument is America does not have the skill base? Thats a tall tale, it's all about the $$$$$$$ and paying 3rd world Indian's lowerwages.

Did Trump cut a immigration/work visa deal with Apple and the .Com's to bring that 350 Billion back home?

However if you got ta choose between 1 million young tech's and 1 million retired elderly?

That's a no brainer!

We need to look a little closer at Canada's immigration system, they aren't giving their
country away at the cry's of world equality. If you make it on their roles as a citizen, you have to bring something to the table I believe, finan ial backing of some sort, a bank account, business, etc?

Sorta like a corporate business decision, they sure don't want to hire anybody thats gonna be working for 1 year and go on the "Disabled Reserve" list, and fall back and be a drain on their corp?

What do the Dem's have to apologise for? What they did at the SOTU speech was tradition for both parties for years.
