I agree that they should indeed download those bible studies and they should put them through a thorough top to bottom investigation to discover whether or not the Gospel is true, calling in panels of experts in the fields of theology, Greek, Hebrew, etc, plus expert witnesses giving their testimonies as to why they believe in Jesus Christ as messiah.

I advise a 2 year investigation with weekly bible studying to get to the root of the matter!

So I take it FFRF subscribes to a revisionist version of the first amendment, especially the words "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" considering it has nothing to do with law establishing religion. FFRF is a group of radical atheist foaming at the mouth fanatics.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington is suing the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development over information about a weekly cabinet bible study.

The suit comes after the group had asked for Freedom of Information Act requests to agencies led by Cabinet secretaries who attend the weekly bible study. A press release says the FFRF wants to investigate how government resources are being used and if employees in the agency feel “coerced into organizing and even participating in the event.”

The Bible study is for cabinet secretaries only. Employees do not attend the studies, according to CBN News.

The FFRF and CREW filed suit when HUD refused to waive fees for the FOIA requests. HUD provided responses to the requests but said the fees were needed because the records were “not in the public interest or related to HUD operations or activities.”

The leader of the bible study is Capitol Ministries founder Ralph Drollinger, who has led the studies for years.

Drollinger said the FFRF could find the materials discussed at the studies at his site, www.capmin.org. He also said all related Bible study expenses are paid by Capitol Ministries.

Cabinet secretaries who attend the Capitol Ministries Bible Study include Attorney General Jeff Sessions, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, HUD Secretary Ben Carson and Energy Secretary Rick Perry.

I find this hilarious IMO. They want to know if government resources are being used to study the Bible voluntarily.

When the Federal government and DoD has mandatory celebrations for LGBTQ pride days. Yet a voluntary Bible study paid for by a Christian ministry is getting FOIA requests.

Christians are living rent free in atheist minds.

those bible studies need to be thoroughly read, every last page, looking for propaganda!

the answer WILL be discovered as to WHY these government officials wanted to study the bible!

like-what was in it for them? what secrets did they know? what does the code 3:16 uncover?

Yes Drollinger is wrong IMO. He should not rely on the atheists to pull his sermons and studies from his website. He should hand deliver them, and orally present them to the satisfaction of those who have ears to hear.

Christians complaining about other people being sensitive is a hoot. I don't even necessarily agree with what the organization is doing, but people whose religion is a favored majority but still think they're a single step from persecution thinking that Atheists are thin-skinned....wow. Projection much?

Let's not confuse people wearing the label "Christian" with actual Christians. Living by Christian values has never been and will never be the majority.

Someone once said: "I like your Christ, but not your Christians". Something like that.

In any case, I'm sick of the entitlement from many American Christians....the well-developed persecution complex that some of us have. Arguably the richest and freest Christians the world has ever seen, and yet also some of the whiniest and most entitled. Jesus and His disciples were ruled by a foreign power, and yet Jesus still said, "Render unto Caesar". To hear many American Christians talk, they "deserve" acknowledgment and special treatment from the government by virtue of being a majority. Forget the other major religions here; us first!

Yeah I don't hear many Christians you disingenuously refer to above saying such.

Or in your book is it perverse for Christians to freely speak their minds exercising their free exercise of religion and free speech?

This is a simple Bible study cabinet members voluntarily attend and is funded with private ministry funds. It's not like the US government is buying large amounts of Bibles and handing them out.

I wasn't specifically referring to the people above me. I'm also pretty sure that I said that I didn't necessarily agree with the flap described in the OP.

Mostly, I'm just sick of entitled American Christian whining. Religious freedom in this country perpetually has one foot on a banana peel and the other in a grave. If there ever is a true abridgment of religious freedom in this country, nobody's likely to believe many Christians when we start complaining about it, because we've needlessly expended so much political capital whining about nonexistent bans on prayer in school and the fact that gay people have the audacity to continue showing their faces in public.

Yet given the OP you rail against Christians when it was whiny atheists upset cabinet members met for a Bible Study.

Ok your diatribe against your own brethren is noted.

Whether or not you're my "brethren", it doesn't mean I have to agree with you 100% or even like a lot of what you do (and before you ask: 'you' is speaking generally). Stating fact is not a "diatribe".

I don't "rail" against anyone. I'm simply pointing out that most of the whining about losing one's religious freedom usually doesn't come from atheists; it comes from American Christians, who have absolutely no reason to whine about anything.

What facts? Beating on a self made stereotype?

Why would atheists be bothered about losing their religious freedom? They oppose the 1st Amendment free exercise clause. At a minimum want it regulated according to their own opinion.

The fact Christians defend their free exercise of religion I know irritates people but guess what. We are on the bus and we ain't getting off. Christians are American citizens too and if we don't want to be confined to what secular believe is appropriate boundaries, tough boogies.

I know many would love for Christians to shut up and stay cloistered in their churches. Unfortunately for those who think such, the Christian faith is an engaging faith taking the Gospel to the world and living daily for Christ.

I'm really enjoying the projection. By all means: keep arguing against yourself; it's funny to watch.
