.. if he doesn’t pull the lead out of his rear and build that wall. The reason he got elected was because he said he’d do it. I have said when he was running for the republican nomination when none of you took him seriously. That was what three years ago? And I’m saying this now. Peeps will turn against him if he doesn’t do that and only that, and by peeps I mean his voters. Better get used to saying President Winfrey.

He is trying, but his support is pretty thin in the Senate.
True enough, but there will be a different reaction if Lindsey Graham, Jeff Flake, John McCain and a few others deliver another victory to the Dems over the president's wishes, as opposed to the president cutting a deal with the Dems himself.

How about a non-tv-personality?

By the grace of God, and if God has mercy on our nation one mo' time, Trump will be re-elected.

Praying.

I don't understand. God is able to use any President, not merely one in particular.

Actually when I think of Trump now, after all these tweets he has made I am lately always thinking of this quote from an older Christian voter after the Alabama Senate special election, regarding Judge Roy Moore.

After Judge Moore lost the election, she said -- "He says he believes in God, but he doesn't act like he believes in God."

It's not only Max Lucado, Tim Keller, and hundreds of other Conservative Christian leaders....

....but instead I'm guessing that for millions of Christians that voted for Trump, the illusion has fallen away, and we are noticing the way he really acts.

That's my feeling about Trump, at this point, and way back when Lucado and Keller were protesting what he was doing months ago.

You might want to research Pence. In addition, "Conservative Christianity" doesn't mean a thing. Research Max Lucato and Tim Keller. Their timing was most interesting. It was as if they would've preferred Hillary be in the White House.

From all that I can gather, his base remains approximately the same as always.

Part of that owes to the fact that he's worked hard at accomplishing much of that which he promised to do. In addition, there's the seriousness of the threat to democracy posed by "the resistance" (which Brinny might have had in mind with her post above). Imagine what the country would be like now if the other side had won-or if it gets another chance too soon and does win.

Then too, I believe that if you call the president--on a daily basis--every dirty name in the book, promote the idea of assassinating him, call him a liar, child molester, Nazi, racist, clown, orangehaired liar dictator, misogynist, anti-Semite, Russian stooge, moron, phony Christian, hater of the poor, warmonger, and fan of the New England Patriots...

...none of it has much sticking power after awhile.

I voted for Trump and not particularly for the wall although I'm not against it either. I think a wall makes sense if it's in the places where it's needed. But I don't see the need for one continuous wall that goes all the way across the country. President Trump said it doesn't have to be one continuous wall.

33“ ‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. 34The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

Instead of this, we are aiming to build a Wall.

Another thought that comes to mind about Trump is Christ prophesied (Matthew chapter 24) a great falling away from the faith, and for that to happen (far more than so far) more has to happen to push people away and destroy the faith of the young, and perhaps, maybe, having ill-acting 'Christians' in high visibility will help turn many away from learning more about Christianity and will help create the conditions that help cause that great falling away. Or prepare the conditions for it. It may be that this is all inevitable in a way. Necessary.

So did Nehemiah, under the direction of God Himself.

As i said before, you might want to research Pence, who seemingly sits quietly in the "background".

It's part of the sickness or brokenness of the world that anyone calls people names or makes up falsehoods about them.

I trust in God and am not really worried about Trump, ultimately. I have been concerned about how he makes Christianity look less good by being ill mannered, but this may be, possibly, an inevitable progression to what Christ said would finally come though as the clock ticks down on this old broken world.

Good point walls were needed at times!

Military defense.

When nations around repeatedly do land invasions and try to take over your city/nation, you need actual physical walls 3000 years ago.

Today we need and have airplanes, satellites, ships, tanks, and guns. No physical wall is military defense now.

But I actually think it's fine to regulate economic immigration which isn't of refugees attempting to survive instead of literally dying if they stayed where they were.

On the whole though, the wall isn't the issue for us as Christians, but instead how we personally treat the foreigners here with us who are not native born, whether we personally do as the Bible instructs us.

Do we chase them away, or love them? Will we deport genuine refugees that will literally be murdered for returning to their native lands?

It is written in Revelation that there will be walls.

Walls are not evil.

It's those who necessitate them that are.

Same as having locks on one's door. Locks aren't evil either.

All throughout the Bible "walls" are mentioned:

Didn't you notice the difference between foreigners who are AMONG US with our permission and foreigners NOT among us but trying to get in among us by circumventing our laws?

We agree on that part, and perhaps on the other parts too.

Right.

It's good for all of us to remember how easy it is to talk right past each other, not even realizing we may already agree on many or even most of something at times. Different concerns, and different ways of using words, etc. Very easy. I don't want unlimited economic migration into the U.S., but I think also that we should indeed allow true refugees who are truly fleeing for their lives along with other sanctuary nations. For instance the Iraqi Christians. One good example. For some returning home is very similar to walking blind in an old minefield. If we are doing "love your neighbor" we will not deport them to multiple death sentences.
