Has anyone had any level of success online, presenting Jesus to non believers?

From my experience, sharing is not appreciated but rather payed back with rudeness and scorn.

One of the reasons for this could be the lack of emotion in written communication which often leads to misunderstanding.

I was wondering would a testimonial video be more effective?
Something like this one....

It really depends on the group and the audience. If it is a person or group open to listening, then yes. If it is more or less off topic and to a general group, then no. Also, many, even most, online groups are really for people to converse with like minded individuals, an echo chamber as it were - they are not interested in being talked to. The best witness one can do online is be polite, open, and honest and witness in that way - not preaching per se. Also, in general most people are not going to play a youtube video...one is better off making your statement concisely in print. I know people on this board like to embed devotional videos they make....I have never clicked to listen to any of them...but maybe I am unique in that way. I just do not want to listen to someone speak in a (more than likely) poorly made video for more than a few seconds....

Most of the people I've run into on Christians forums are Christians, so it doesn't seem to me to be an issue of presenting Jesus to nonbelievers. For me it's more an issue of trying to witness to what I've learned and believe. I don't think many people come to Christian forums to learn.

its not in Christian forums. more likely on on youtube comments sections.
Talking about Jesus to fellow believers is easy and should be joyful. its the non believers that are hard.

But we argue unceasingly about various theological issues.

God's Word promises never to come back void and I do not think that matters what form of sharing that entails. Witnessing requires a prayerful attitude in humility and prayer b4 and after. It is then that I think we see that a person's salvation is in the Lord's hands, not ours, and the timing is ALL in His hands not when we expect or desire it. Leave it up to God's Word, not yours. Don't try to convince or pressure, if you gain a decision with those salesperson or hell, fire, and brimstone tactics your "convert" will be just that; your convert. A convert of puny man/woman, not God, and it will be void of any super-natural, life-changing (for the long term), and redemptive power. I have witnessed such "conversions" as the partner I was given for conducting visitations was a very strong type A, winsome/charismatic type individual and this person could get a decision from a satan worshiper. But I could see that it wasn't God's power but his. And his "converts" lasted as long as his personal interest in them lasted. When he didn't have any more time for them due to more pressing needs of current "converts" all of a sudden their lives fell apart and they left the church and when followed up their response was that "God abandoned them." He had made himself God to them when he caused their "salvation" in his power. Now they are so resistant to the Gospel they may NEVER really be saved. He gave the Gospel message but he did not let God do His work from the inside out in time and forced a decision before the person was really ready and by being the "Force" to them they naturally looked to him to know and fix their problems. My 2 cents.

That's it... one finds when they seek. If they are not looking, all the pushing in the world will only cause them to run AWAY from what we are pushing. This is why Peter said to give an answer for the hope of our calling to all who ASK us. The single best "witness" we have is our life... if stands in harmony with the character of God and adds to His reputation, we are being a good witness.

Yeah, on youtube all you can do is plant the Word, concisely. I don't think they read past the first God or Christ in a holy sense. But on this site I think you might be surprised how many guests are quietly sitting on threads. Seeing if Christianity is something that they want. This is why it is SO important for us Christians to show our love toward each other, ALL the time, as you were alluding to earlier.

Hmm I'm not sure. Probably the best place for personally created videos would be the blog section. Make a blog on this website and post videos there? I read quite a few of the blog occasionally, it's nice to see people's thoughts outside the normal forum structure.

true, its a shame what happens at times. one would hope that we would always be loving towards each other.
They will know we are christian by our love. amen?
Amen. Arguing doesn't necessarily we mean we don't love each other.

Amen to that. they will be watching our actions to see if there is any Christ in us.
Hear from a friend a group of christian men were out having coffee and a debate started about some bible verses and their interpretation. it became heated and a lady at a nearby table said you should go and talk to this god you believe in. not good.
