Context. Context context

So very important. The woman was bumped out of her seat by an elitist politician who does it often enough for her colleagues to mention it.

The Airlines lies to cover their butts and implied that the woman didn’t know she was cancelling her ticket, which she did not.

The is nothing bigoted, racist, homophobic, or anything else about her reply.

And in CONTEXT of her reply you couldn’t use bigot in any way shape or form and be intellectually honest.

IMHO, If it was a Republican white male instead of a Democratic black female, there would be a public outcry. Especially on this forum.
Her remark that she's "not some AARP grandmother who doesn't know what she's doing" is ageist and bigoted. It perpetuates a stereotype that elderly people are inferior by virtue of their being elderly. I'm not surprised that you don't see the bigotry because I think I have a clear picture of what your overall mentality is (i.e. "conservative"). Nor am I surprised that you didn't know what "bigoted" meant because you're from the state that ranks 48 in education so we know it's not a priority where you're from.

So let's say I was complaining about being mistreated, and I said "They treated me like I didn't know what I was doing, like I'm some dumb trailer trash inbred Oklahoma hick." You would not find that bigoted at all, would you?

Why shouldn't she be?

Humility is a good quality in public officials. Jus' sayin ...

Gonna save this for the next argument about white privilege.

LOL, no my friend I would not. I have thicker skin than that. But you sticking up for grandmas everywhere and taking offense on their behalf is precious.

Let me rephrase my question: why do you feel the congresswoman should be held responsible for what the airline did?

What makes you think it was the airline doing nothing more than capitulating to a rich powerful bully who has a history of forcing her way?

If she was really that powerful, she would not be flying commercial.

In any case, it's not surprising that you ignore the statements provided by the airline noting the passenger initiated the cancellation of her flight segment.

I guess making an ideological point out weighs taking personal responsibility for one's actions.

Expecting to get what you pay for isn’t white privilege, it is common sense

Unsurprisingly, you don't understand what I'm getting at.

JGG: why do you feel the congresswoman should be held responsible for what the airline did?

NHE: Why shouldn't she be? Humility is a good quality

So if a person derives a benefit from something wrong that the person didn't personally take part in...

That person should take responsibility for it, and be humble.

So in your version of this tale the congresswoman forced the airline to give her a first class seat by bullying them? How was the airline extorted like that? What was the leverage?

Why do you feel this is the likely scenario?
