I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me, know these words don’t reflect who I am.

I don't think that you understand how whataboutism works. I was explaining how it wasn't draft dodging, but manipulation of the system using an example Cow451 was probably already familiar with. I never excused the behavior.

My father served in Vietnam, and died from complications from Agent Orange, and my sisters and I who were born after he was exposed to it have health issues that the rest of the family doesn't. So, please, feel free to claim that I am excusing someone who used power and influence to avoid the conflict that ultimately killed my father.

I am so sorry about you family’s losses. I hope nothing I’ve said has hurt or offended you. Too many lives are lost or harmed in unnecessary military actions. And every service member has loved ones the are also affected.
