Not in the least bit surprised since the Republican party's, and Donald Trump's only real position is just beating the Democrats at all costs and being anti-anyonebutthem. Regardless of whether or the allegations or true, Moore already showed that he is unfit for public office, but Trump doesn't care about that because he's got an R by his name.

You may wish to concern yourself more with your own reading and comprehension. Please look right underneath my name. I'm a Republican. A conservative. I take the Bible seriously.

Glad you got your rant out of your system. God bless you, too.

I didn't concern myself with your name, your political status, or how you take the Bible.

I responded to your comment of WHOM you thought was SHAMEFUL, and FOR WHAT you thought they are SHAMEFUL. THAT is precisely what I disagree with you about.

I do not KNOW Roy Moore, nor do I KNOW any one person in the RNC. Maybe you do, you never said.
However what I do know, is the RNC, is made up of folks who CLAIM to be Republicans. And further Roy Moore was seeking a seat in government as a Republican. And further what I do know is, there was NO, ZERO, ZIP formal charges lodged against Roy Moore, for the newspaper accusations made against him. IOW, it is NOT NEWS to me that people make ACCUSATIONS against other people. So what?

HOW does that, "with you", become concluded as SHAMEFUL, for someone to support Roy Moore to effect him being seated in a government position? There has been NOTHING proved against him. And I do presume you do not know ANYONE personally (but you can verify if it be otherwise), that you have pronounced SHAME upon them, for informal charges, by other people you also do not personally know.

I find that astounding! And BTW, very liberal-minded, to which my comment was also made.

I certainly hope YOU personally do not have to experience someone pronouncing SHAME upon you, because someone made accusations against you.

God Bless,
SBC

Why should people have to wait for a court ruling before considering the ethical behavior of someone running for public office? And why not apply this strict standard to all questions regarding a candidate for office - to include issues beyond ethics? Why not require a court ruling to determine the truth of any potential question regarding a candidate?

It seems to me that a court is for handling civil or criminal matters, not a determinant on all ethical matters. Voters are the determiners of many things regarding a candidate - ethical behavior being among them. This doesn't require a trial by jury, but the sound judgement of the voter.

Outside of civil or criminal matters, why not let a candidate's private life be private?

Well it’s a personal thing I suppose. I wouldn’t vote for someone who I believed had sexually assaulted an underage girl.

The Al Franken allegations were not 38 years after the fact,
as are those against Roy Moore.

Correct. Per Al, the most highlighted incident apparently occurred 11 yrs ago.

A bit of news just 2 hours ago.
Al Franken resigning 'in the coming weeks' - CNNPolitics

Washington (CNN)Democratic Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota is resigning following allegations that he touched women inappropriately, he announced on the Senate floor Thursday.

"I am announcing that in the coming weeks I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate," Franken said in an emotional address in which he said some of the allegations against him weren't true.

Thanks for the correction.

Good on them. Other Alabaman Christian Republicans are comparing Ray Moore to Jesus...

Outside of civil or criminal matters, why not let a candidate's private life be private?

I dunno, because the ones voting are voting on him to make rules for other people? Possibly because he uses religion for political purposes while possibly not following the rules he thinks are fitting for everyone else? Possibly because he is being elected to represent his constituency - and maybe that constituency isn't best represented by someone who behaves unethically when nobody is looking? Maybe because (if the claims are true) using position to take advantage of underage females isn't really "private" to those he's taking advantage of? Possibly because the candidate isn't running for a private office? Maybe because he works for taxpayers and who are helping pay his salary?

Could probably think of a few reasons....

If he were trying to get my vote, I would want to know that I'm not voting for someone who acts unethical in private or who has one set of rules applied to himself and a different set rules everyone else.

SBC, that's the perfect verse for Christian Republicans in to remember on election day when they decide not to let their pride in their party get in their way & instead do what's right by not voting for Roy Moore. Thank you.

God bless you, as always.

That was for you, and your pride :)

I don't have Republican Party Pride ~
actually I have not heard anyone claim "Pride in their Political Party".

Have heard, more so, the lesser of two evils.

As far as Moore ~
he may personally be a scumbag, yet nothing has proven that.
he may politically be an outstanding representative, yet I can not say, since I have not reviewed his record of service.

As far as men (and women) personally who have sought public offices ~ they are all human and have their baggage, some is suspected, some is already proven. But that is the beauty of an individuals vote, that individually they get to decide whom they shall vote for ~ hopefully with consideration with casting a vote on FACTS, not gossip.

God Bless,
SBC

Yes, SBC, it was obvious that was your intent, but what I wrote in my post ought to have been just as obvious. Again, you did a great job choosing that verse even if your pride got in the way of you seeing the irony of it. :)

God bless you, as always, SBC.

I don't agree with the sign, but how do you get
idolatry and blasphemy out of it?

It's idolatrous because they clearly see this election as a big enough issue to make the comparison to Jesus, and blasphemous for comparing the allegation that Christ as accused of as being remotely comparable to the allegation Moore is accused of.
